《My halfbie - GwinamXreader》Chapter 2

I wake up to the sound of banging on the front door as I sigh and push myself up while taking in my surroundings and remembering what happened. "Come back later Gwi nam, I need a shower" I shout before heading over to the bathroom and showering quickly. Once I finished I wrapped a towel around me and headed to the front door. I couldn't hear any knocking so I assumed he went to his apartment. I grab some clean uniform and changed before heading to the front door. I open it and go to step out to see a figure just standing down the hall hunched over while I see blood on the floor.
As I'm about to call out I hear a bloodcurdling scream from bellow so I turn to see what it was and see a woman running from a group of people. The group catches up before pulling her to the floor with some sort of growling noise that I couldn't make out. I hear a louder growl from the person in the corridor. I look over as they run towards me so I quickly get back into my apartment and lock the door. "The hell" I say before reaching into my pocket for my phone. I pull it out and start looking for anything that could tell me what the hell I missed.
"Zombies" I say to myself as I see some news of zombies in Hyosan. I look over at the door as I hear a scratching sound from the other side. I head to the kitchen and grab a knife before going to the windows and closing the blinds. I keep looking through my phone as I have no idea what to do. I realise all my friends could be in school so I start calling around trying to find any answer but no one picks up. "Why do they take our phones" I say to myself while sighing in annoyance.
Since I had no idea what to do I just tried my best to relax since I didn't want to go outside. I end up just staying in my apartment for about two days. Eventually I get too anxious to keep waiting around hoping to hear from my friends. For the two days that I was at home I just wasted time worrying about if they were alright. I couldn't stand the nerves any longer so I decide to get to the school and find out myself. I make sure to eat before heading out as well as filling a bottle with water. I grab a knife and pull on a small bag so I could try and find any food since I had run out of safe food in the apartment.
I wasn't about to try and eat crisps in the middle of the apocalypse. I open my front door slowly and check around to make sure there weren't any zombies around. Since there was no one there I start walking over to the stairs and head down still looking around carefully. I sneak through the quiet areas of Hyosan that Gwi nam told me about that weren't as busy. I manage to get quite close to the school without having any problems with zombies. If I saw one then I tried going a different way or I found a way to get past without it noticing me.

Once I get closer I can see the main street and then the school gate. Unfortunately the street had a few zombies scattered around the place. I stay still for a second and debate just going back to my apartment but the thought that my friends might be alright made me stay. They probably needed help and wanted to know what it was like outside school. I wait for a moment before starting to run across the street which catches the zombies attention. I weave around the car wrecks easily and climb up the wall so I could get over the gate.
I take a breath while on top of the wall out of the zombies reach and look over at the school which I can already tell will be crowded with zombies. I hop down quietly and make my way along the wall to the new building since I assumed there wouldn't be anyone there. I go inside the building managing to avoid the zombies on the field. I start walking through the slightly broken corridor as I keep looking over at the main building which I needed to get to. I look back in front as I see a zombie come around the corner and quickly notice me before I even get a chance to hide.
It starts growling and running towards me so I tighten my grip on the knife in my hand. Once close enough I side step it and stab it in the back on the neck. I push it away as it falls forward a little but starts snapping back into place. I don't bother waiting around for it and start running down the hallway as I notice more appearing from rooms. I seemed to have forgotten that there would've been construction workers here that filled the area. I keep running until I get out of the building before grabbing a wooden panel from the wall and pulling it against the door frame.
I turn not bothering to see if that would hold them and look over to the school. I see a clearing and go for it hoping it would be calmer inside the school. As I get closer to the school I see a body at the end of the path just lying on the floor motionless. I decide to try and ignore it since there was nothing I could do to help and I would have to go past the school entrance to get to them. While running the body that I thought was dead gets up as a few zombies turn towards them. It takes just a moment for me to recognise the familiar haircut that I always said was stupid.
I knew I should've just ran to the school so I could try and find other people but my feet carry me straight past the door and towards the boy that's just getting to his feet. I shove a zombie that was getting close to him as I manage to come to a stop. I turn and slash at another zombie while reaching over to the boy that seemed hurt with my other hand. "Come on idiot" I say as I slash at another zombie and shove another back while I tighten my grip on Gwi nam's arm as I try and pull him forward.

He seems to just be frozen for a second as I can see more zombies notice us and start running over. "Why are you here, I heard you went home" Gwi nam coughs out as I keep pushing zombies back and slashing at any that came too close. "We have to go" I say to him as I feel him grab my arm and pull me towards him. I can't protest as he turns and pushes me against a wall. He pulls me down and crouches over me protectively as I go to shove him off since he would get bitten. "Stay close and shut up" is all he says while moving even closer as I hear all the zombies from behind him.
I look up at him as I feel my eyes welling up. I just got to him and I'm already going to lose him. I go to say something but he holds his hand to my mouth before I can say anything. "Stay quiet until I say" he says as I can't say anything so I just let my head fall forward onto his chest and hear his heartbeat beating loudly against his chest. I stay there not moving as I can feel one of his arms resting on my head and keeping me close to him. After a couple of moment he leans back slightly and reaches for my arm. I reach over and grab his hand before he gets up and starts pulling me along.
We get inside the building without much trouble since the zombies had moved away from us. He keeps pulling me along as I see a bunch of zombies ahead that turn our way. Gwi nam opens a classroom door and pushes me in before coming in as well and shutting the door behind him. He holds it shut as the zombies claw and scratch at the door for a little. They lose interest quickly as Gwi nam takes a step back and looks around the room before coming over to me.
"Why are you here" he says straight away as I just stand there unable to think of anything to say for a bit. "I came to see if anyone was still alive, you must've been bit back there and you're going to turn and then I'll have to kill you again" I say as I just stare at him feeling my chest tightening as I speak. "Oh god you might've been alright" I say more to myself than to him. "Hey take a breath, it's fine" he says while reaching over as I notice how I was shaking. "No it's not alright, you've been bit and I can't do anything to stop you from becoming one of those half dead zombies" I say as I feel like breaking down.
"Listen to me y/n, I'm fine alright just let me explain" he says while grabbing my arm lightly and pulling me over and hugging me tightly. "I was bit before but it's ok but I didn't turn, see I'm fine and you know that because I would've turned already" he says while rubbing his hand along my back softly. I can't think of what to say or to ask as I just wrap my arms around him and take it in that he's there and seems alright. "By the way it was good toast" I hear him say as I laugh a little.
I manage to calm myself before stepping back and getting a good look at Gwi nam to make sure he wasn't turning. "What happened to your eye" I ask as he reaches up and seems to become a little self conscious about it. "Ran into some problems with other people" he says as I want to laugh. "Even in the middle of the apocalypse you still find a way to cause trouble" I say as he glares at me slightly. "You're no better, you just had to come over and try to help you idiot" he says as I sit down next to the wall.
"You seemed to need the help so who's the real idiot" I say as he walks over and sits next to me. "Still you" he says as I shake my head. "How's the cold now" he says as I sigh while watching the door. "Better" I say as he nods and shifts about. "Comfy" I ask as he keeps shifting around. "Stupid school floor" he says under his breath as I laugh a little at him. "When did you last get some sleep" I ask as he sighs and gives up. "I guess before all the zombies started showing up" he says as I nod. "Why are you asking, there's no way I'm sleeping on the floor anyway" he says as I glance over at the door.
"So you said that the zombies ignored you right" I say as he nods. "Why don't you go to the nurse's office and sleep for a bit, there's beds there" I say as he's quiet for a bit. "What about you" he asks as I lean back. "Stay here I guess" I say as he gets up before taking off the jacket he had on. "Try this" he says and chucks the jacket over to me. I hesitate for a moment before pushing myself up and pulling the jacket on to find the sleeves hang lower the my hands. "It suits you" he says and smiles as I just swing the end of the sleeve at him. "Make sure to stay close to me alright" he says while reaching over and grabbing my hand after I pulled the end of the sleeve up slightly.
