《Her Boyfriend's Girlfriend (GirlXGirl)》Chapter 3

They sat staring out at the Lake for around half an hour playing the "ignorant crying game". They're used to it by now.
They would sit there, staring at nothing while Peyton cries silently pretending that Kimberly doesn't know. She'd dry her eyes eventually, take in a deep breath and scoot close to Kimberly who would wrap her arm around her waist and rest her head on her shoulder. After about five minutes of that, they would break away and all would be well. Until next time.
"You ready for the movies?" Kimberly asked as they packed up their picnic stuff.
"Yeah, why not?"
They agreed on going to a cinema nearby, like ten minutes away. On the drive across, Kimberly decided to tease Peyton. "So boo, you know what I'm thinking?"
Peyton looked at her and shook her head slightly.
"I think you're totally in love with me!" She grinned from ear to ear.
When she got no response she looked to see Peyton blushing bright red. "Oh my god! I'm right? I was kidding!"
"No. I ummm... I was... once..." Peyton forced out.
"But you aren't anymore?"
"Well... no... not really... oh dear. You must think I'm a freak! Crushing on my best friend..."
"No! I don't. I'm actually flattered. But we need to talk about this though." Kimberly ended on a serious note. She pulled the car off the road onto a dirt path and turned to face Peyton. "Hey boo, look at me."
Peyton complied, still with a blush on her face. "There's nothing to talk about Kimmy. I have a crush on you but I mean, you're a gorgeous girl, you're sweet to me, you're my best friend, I like girls... I think it's just inevitable that I have a crush on you..."

"Not really. All those things are true but that doesn't mean that you would have a crush on me."
Peyton hung her head and apologised. She wasn't exactly sure what for but she apologised all the same.
"You have nothing to be sorry for. Okay?" She got no response but she continued anyhow. "How long have you had a crush on me?"
"You don't want to know..."
"Why not?"
"Because then you'll regret some of the times we shared. Like sleeping in the same bed and showering together..."
"No I won't because you are not a pervert." A thought suddenly occurred to Kimberly. "Wait... we only showered together three times. When my parents took us to that cabin one weekend and the bathroom had no lights and we were afraid of it so we decided to go in together..." She trailed off and looked at Peyton who nodded while biting her lip. Kimberly continued, "we were eleven... you've liked me since we were eleven?"
Peyton nodded shyly, "actually, I've liked you since the first day you spoke to me when we were ten... that's why I avoided you like the plague at first..."
Kimberly laughed heartily and apparently it was contagious because Peyton joined in and they continued for a fair length of time.
When they calmed themselves, Kimberly said seriously, "I'm so sorry boo... I... I love you but I'm really not into girls."
Peyton waved her off, "trust me, I know that. Plus, just look at Timothy, he is the epitome of masculinity!" She laughed and Kimberly joined in this time.
"What I'm saying is, it's unfair to you. Aside from the fact that I'm with Timmy, I would have liked to try us out for you but I won't be in it wholeheartedly and that's not what you deserve."

"I have you as a best friend and that's all I need."
"You know..." Kimberly said and she seemed to be thinking hard, "I completely understand and I am one hundred percent supportive of the whole lgbt scene but I really don't get it though... what do you see so attractive in a girl? I mean, just look at a guy, the muscles, the rough, rugged features, how they're bigger than you and all that..."
"You do know that girls have muscles and can be rough and rugged and bigger than you too?" Peyton joked.
Kimberly laughed and poked her, "you know what I mean!"
"I know, just teasing you. But I could say the same to you. I really don't get what you see in guys, they're so disgusting and rough and all that facial hair, eww! But a girl now, she's so soft, supple and sensual, caring, understanding, a girl totally gets a girl. And the way a girl can look at another girl, it's never the same thing with a guy and a girl."
"Wow... are you trying to turn me?"
Peyton laughed holding her side, "no! Just telling you the truth."
"Peyton?"
"Yes Kimmy?"
"Have you even kissed Adam?"
Peyton gave her signature head shake. "He's tried but I slap him away and tell him that 'it's not the right time' or 'I want the first time to be special' or some shit like that. So, you see now why I don't give a fuck when he flirts like that? It really doesn't bother me. Plus, I kind of give him reason to."
Kimberly simply nodded, "so... do you want to have your first kiss?"

She likes the idea of waking up in the middle of her favourite book with the handsome, brooding Mr Thornton glaring at people in his mill yard, but she doesn't worry about the foul air of dirty, smoky Milton, because it's not real, and it was written over 160 years ago.But then she takes a trip to Oxford, and gets waylaid along the way, finding herself greeted at a smoky train station, by a man called Mr Hale, who claims to be her godfather. When Isabel meets Margaret and first sees Mr Thornton, she's determined to help the course of love run a little more smoothly for the two stubborn lovers.
