"Are you a fool?" I couldn't help but burst at James. Bring the woman, who is one of the sexual partners, to your home. The home that Anna, decorated with love, with hope, with patience. Not only, Emma needs help, but James needs help too. Both mother-son duo is out of their mind.

"My wife will never know." Shrugging his shoulder, James was about to wear his blazer. And, this proves that James is a good businessman, but he is not a good family man. What is the use of hiring the Rogers investigation unit when you don't read their daily reports. I am sure the owner, Mark Rogers, has given James, his best team because James is paying the highest.

"Anna has installed security cameras into the hall and kitchen." Informing him, I watched James stopping. This piece of information must have hit him back to his senses. He can't evade the possibility of facing Anna with an explanation. "I don't think, she will listen to your useless excuse," I added, with the hope of bringing some sense to James Carter.

"Anna just wanted to meet her." James blabbed.

"You still call her Anna." Now, I am losing patience with this family. "I think you lost your thinking capabilities... about personal life." Sometimes, I wish I could just kick the Carter family out of my life, except Jessica and my Anna's kids. Just because Anna loves James doesn't mean she is ready to jump in his arms. She is breaking... Slowly. And her mother did a heinous job supporting Norma.

I wish, I had the heart enough to leave Norma and go to David or even Anna... Maybe Jessica. They all are my kids. I am ready to adjust at any corner of there as far as I get to see them and their children...my grandchildren.

"I have always called her Anna... She is my best friend. She has been with me ever since I am trying to clean myself... My drinking issue." James justified.

"And that's more than a decade." I mocked him. "You never wanted to leave alcohol. It's your way of denying that you hurt your wife."

"I did hurt her but didn't brainwash her." James fired back and I couldn't say anything. He is right. All the injustice that Anna faced, happened in front of me and I ignored it. I am failed as a father.

As James left the hospital, I walk back into the hospital to take care of bills. The hospital basically belongs to Mark Rogers. This engineering marvel is nothing but one of the charity cases of Ethan Rogers. I remember working with him by side. We were good friends until he died because of cancer. I wondered about his successor because he has no one. That's when the world meet Mark Rogers, who is doing a good job but James....no words for my Jay.

James was always aware of the responsibility waiting for him. I despise what Emma did to him. He was just a teenager when Emma introduced him to drinking. And, it all happened right in my watch.

I could have stopped so many things. I was offered so many opportunities to correct my mistake, but I didn't. Why?

Every breath, I take, is full of regret. I always question myself that, what could have been the present, if I grabbed any of the opportunities that I was offered.

"Daniel...." I heard a familiar male voice running towards me.

Turning back, I witnessed the unwanted Theo Edwards. I don't hate him. What he did was his need. He regretted it later. That makes me feel better about him. At least, he returned the money and quit his practice. But his deeds not only ruined Anna but also hurt Trina.

Trina knew Theo did something to his first client that's why he left his practice, but she never reckoned that her brother ruined someone's life. She was devastated. She blamed herself because Theo wanted that money for her admission.

"What do you want, Theo?" I snarled at him. I don't like him buzzing around Anna. She doesn't want him around her, or her kids.

"George called me, he said Anna is hospitalized." Theo was panicking. And, I know he is right. His body posture is screaming concern.

"Where is she?" I followed him. I can't lose Anna.

"Why did you call my brother?" Trina questioned George on the other side of the call while pacing around the room.

"Trina... He panicked. He wasn't aware that David was here." Anna tried to calm her.

"He should have called me." Trina snapped at Anna.

"Hey... Hey...." David jumped in between. "The thing is she's fine and Theo is leaving."

"I am not leaving." Theo protested.

"None of the ladies wants your presence." I interrupted and pulled Theo out of the room.

As I dragged protesting Theo, we were showered by the stares of the staff. The guards guided us to the parking area. Theo was still protesting, but then, he realised both Anna and Trina needed time.

"Theo loves Anna." Norma joined me in the cafeteria.

"No doubt." I agreed.

"Do you think he knew her when he meet her a few months back?" She asked.

"No, I don't think so. His face turned pale when he realised that who is Anna. I was there when he saw Jamie with her." I sipped the coffee and looked at my tired wife. And, I lost my balance. Katherine Kepner was walking towards us with two cups of coffee.

"She wanted to see Anna," Norma whispered in guilt.

"Why are you doing this?" I am getting frustrated. This is a frustrating life. Now, I want to run away and become a monk, with no attachment. What is happening? Where is Marvin? Both sisters are on a mission of killing me. My heart is weak. I can't take the drama. And, even Katherine has joined them.

"I am trying to help." Norma's sweet voice wobble.

"That does not help, love." I tried to explain her. "I understand what you did, was to help Emma and her condition. But trust me, she needs professional help. Love is not enough. She doesn't behave like your younger sister. She gives you an order, and you follow her like she's a goddess."

"She's my responsibility," Norma argued.

"No, she's not. I understand you feel obliged to take care of her. But trust me, your parents loved you. They never wanted you to sacrifice your life for her."

"I can't lose Emma... It was hard for me to hold myself after Rebecca." she was trying to control her tears.

"You think, it was easy for me. I know Rebecca was connecting like between you and Emma but If you lost your sister, then I lost my best friend, my brother. My life was upside-down like yours. I feel sympathy towards Emma, but ruining lives is right."

"Please, try to understand." Katherine sat next to Norma.

"Both of you... "I pointed at the ladies. "Stay away from each other. Because Emma is a clever woman. She's using both of you. And I hate the idea of Anna restarting her life because she's young. What about kids? Anna lost her crucial year's of youth when she was supposed to build a good life for her kids." I left them in guilt.

Both of them are aware of the consequence of their action. They know what they did was not right. But They are not my concern. I am concerned about the next move of James. His face was burning with fury when I told him what Norma did. What is he going to do?

Walking back into the room, I encounter the silence. Anna looked defeated. And David was missing, while Trina was shocked.

"What are you going to do?" Ignoring me, Trina answer Anna.

"Right now, I just want to be home. Cherish is at home." Anna tried to sound normal, but there is something off. She is not fine.

Walking out of the room, Anna didn't look back.

I approached Trina and asked her their reason. She gave that look... Like it's Anna's decision.

"We are family." I tried to convince her.

"She's pregnant." She looked guilty.

"Who's the father?" I asked, subconsciously, knowing the answer.

"We know." She mumbled.

This is not a piece of good news. Emma will lose because James will be choosing Anna over her.
