You weren't sure what kind of movie he would like, I mean- his life probably was an action movie, but in the theater lobby he told you to pick whatever.
"That doesn't help me pick something we both like you know." You huffed but decided on an action anime movie- secretly into the Sinister Knight series.
The premise was a magical knights academy, and the main character wanting to be the head knight- had tragically lost his leg getting trampled by a horse, crushing his femur and his dream it seemed.
But he found a way- traveling far to get a prosthetic, and the journey was long and arduous, but his dream kept him going, despite the stigma of being a cripple in the medieval magical world. It was an origin story movie for the series. You couldn't help but sniffle when he used a branch to drag his body at first through the forest, determined to meet the magical wizard who could help him walk again.
Despite this riveting story going on, the close proximity of the movie seats could not be ignored. You noticed his warmth from his arm- he had taken both armrests, you pouted and tried to shove his arm off your side. You could hear his grinning, not daring to look at him.
You tried to shove him again succeeding this time in pushing his arm off- but in retaliation he slapped his hand on top of yours and laced his fingers between yours holding it down. It was searing and a bit sweaty- you tensed and blushed. He leaned over and you felt his hot breath hit your ear intimately as he growled:
"That better princess?"
He sounded so.... seductive.
Dammit! You could see the light glow coming from your skin touching. He knew you were getting flustered. But it also felt... good.
The tingles of electricity ran atop your arm where his rested- you pouted and looked at your lap, trying to gain your composure.
"Y-you're hogging my armrest!" You whispered embarrassed.
He sighed out, feeling the pleasure coming from your touch, his crimson eyes trained on your expression in the glow from the screen.
He felt your excitement and embarrassment. He also felt your hesitancy... and it sort of pissed him off a tiny bit.
There should be no barriers between the two of you touching.
He leaned back over to whisper more in your ear, you held in a squeak.
"That hard for you to share?" He teased, his tone dripping in suggestion.

You grumbled blushing, shoving a handful of popcorn in your mouth so you didnt have to answer.
He scoffed leaning back- finding your resistance amusing, but also enjoying this tease.
You seemed to calm down a bit and get back into the movie- the hero was training with his single leg, to face the full journey to the wizard, it was inspiring.
He actually didn't mind the movie, he didn't believe in all of the crap, but it was interesting and motivating. He liked the grit in it- he could feel your focus drifting away and back to the male in the movie, the way you scanned his form and smiled and rooted him on. The way you got so proud and excited seeing him work so hard despite the struggles, he felt all of it. With the way you were staring, and with the realization that with the movie screen in front of you and the actor- you weren't thinking about him beside you anymore, so enraptured.
He wondered if that was your type, the crestfallen underdog- and the thought of Deku being a cripple grazed his mind.
He squeezed your hand.
You blinked shifting your gaze slightly at him, but not saying anything- catching a slight feeling that he was tense.
He couldn't believe after all this time he still had a feeling of that soft-boiled green haired male taking something from him, even for a moment. He thought that insecurity was dead and in the past.
You could see his expression sour, and nibbled your bottom lip, and took a piece of popcorn and held it up to his lips- snapping him out of his thoughts before he furrowed his brows for a second and ate it, letting out a loud huff.
You wondered what was on his mind, but the spot you two had been touching at the arms was extremely warm, it almost hurt during the time of his sharp stare into the void.
"Are you okay?" You whispered, offering another popcorn kernel.
He could feel worry in your emotions, and chastised himself for letting the geek get into his head during the date.
"Forget about it, watch the movie." He sighed declining the food.
You knew that wasn't it, you pouted and finally decided to lift up the arm rest, and scooted closer to him, leaning your head on his shoulder.
He tensed a bit before easing.
"We can do something else if you like?" You offered softly, unsure of what to say- not wanting to pry too much, also, movie theaters aren't the place to have a full conversation.

He growled and felt shittier for making you feel worried for his dumbass thoughts- his jealous thoughts no less.
"This is fine, stop sweating it... its making me feel... weird." He grumbled, his arm settled around you.
And though it made you blush, it also felt like one of the most natural things. You leaned into him and gently rubbed his thigh.
"Its okay to feel weird sometimes..." you murmured, and went back to munching your popcorn.
He huffed but pulled you a little closer, and you two finished the movie like that.
You wondered what bothered him. He walked beside you seeming to still be a bit in his thoughts, his hands in his pockets as you two walked to the car.
"That bad huh?" You spoke up as he drove.
He flinched, marginally gripping the wheel harder.
"Whadya mean?" He glanced at you through the corner of his eye, eyes trained diligently on the road as you raced back.
"I mean it was a bit dramatic at times, b-but I have to admit... I follow the series so I thought it was really good- it might seem corny since you're a real hero and-"
He gawked listening to you before snorting.
"The movie wasn't shit. It's fine to like your nerd shows, I actually like a good struggle movie, pumps me up." He said so, loosening up finally- finding it comical you thought he was cold because of a silly movie. He couldn't keep his grin, you got him out his thoughts.
"Oh... good. I was starting to feel bad I made you watch something you didn't want to." You smiled relieved, visibly relaxing as well.
He nodded slightly, the ride was comfortable again, but there was still a small aching thought in his head that when you met Deku you'd somehow grow farther from him, and this new budding relationship was something he realized he really wanted to keep...
"You follow any of the other hero's?" He asked idly, trying to seem disinterested.
What a curious question, you never thought he would be interested in the other males, let alone how you thought of them.
Shifting in your seat you smiled a little shaking your head.
"No.... not really, I mean I sort of followed Red Riot for a bit when the Sports Festival was on tv, but it's not like I was ever obsessed I don't think... I like Ketsu from Sinister Knights more." You blushed a bit embarrassed but laughed anyways, feeling you could be honest with him.
"Kirishima huh... so you got a thing for smiley bastards huh?" He teased revving his engine slightly.
You blushed not expecting his bold words at all.
"I- I don't think I have a preference! I mean... I just watched the program was all... " you pouted knowing he was enjoying seeing you squirm.
"Someone's suddenly curious for SOME reason..." you humphed under your breath.
He tried to hide his irritation at being caught.
"Just a question.... since you looked so starry eyed at the movie screen, it seemed like more than a crush." He cackled.
You sputtered and shook your head- okay so like- maybe you had a fat 2D crush on Ketsu from the anime but that was different! And how dare he make you admit that!
"S-so what if I like 2D boys, at least they don't tease me!" You pursed your lips looking out the window, but the blush on your cheeks made it all too obvious you weren't hating this.
He clicked his tongue leaning back in his seat, driving with one hand comfortably, the other seamlessly resting on the stick-shift, that confident grin on his face.
"You know 2D guys don't compare to the real thing, I'm pretty sure I could get you just as excited..." he glared down at you as if to challenge you to defy him.
This side of him, this competitive side- it made you both frustrated and.... hot.
"I'm sure you could Mr. Experience. Oh look we're here!" You chimed in when he pulled in the driveway and slipped out before he could touch you and jumble your thoughts.
"Still running away ______? You can't exactly avoid me y'know."
He watched you scurry up the steps glancing back at him shyly before sticking your tongue out and going inside.
His grin was sinister.
There was a hunger in him now. Just thinking about you fangirling about the red bastard brought strong feelings of competitiveness in him. He liked the feeling of a challenge.
He liked feeling you flustered and confused- he knew you were trying to get your thoughts off of his advances.
He knew deep down this was stemming from jealousy- or insecurity, and that pissed him off. But he did what he always did with his negative emotions.
He used it to make him work harder.
Hey- he was a smiley bastard too sometimes.

The Girl He Used To Know - An UnderCurrent Story
Pierre Havelock is an author, atleast now he is. In truth 3 decades ago Pierre was dragged across space & time only to land on our boring old earth. So when one of his 'characters', a girl based on someone he once knew in his past life, appears before him - Pierre is less than best pleased. He is even less happy when said girl decides to make his house her new home! __Now on Royal-Road! ‘The Girl he Used To Know’ began life when I came across a rather silly prompt on a web-novel site I was using; "Theme: My 2D waifu is now my real life Valentine's!?"Well with a title like that I couldn’t help but be interested by the idea of leaving my usual writing niche and trying something a bit more novel. Tying it loosely back to my main series ‘UnderCurrent’, ‘GUK’ was born as a standalone romance novella which you are now holding, styled with Japanese tropes in mind from a more western perspective.I hope you will find this to be an interesting and fun read - Designed with the intent of being a somewhat contemplative and ‘cosy’ story - Whatever the case I thank you for picking it up and giving it a once over.- Momentie __I adapted Draft 2 to audio - I can't voice act, or edit, yet I kinda like it & find it personally the best way to enjoy the story😂 - https://youtu.be/kNWiSiZU53U
