《Sally (Book 1)》Chapter 10: Date

Angela was getting ready in her room for her date with Javier when Brenda walked in. She took in Angela's dirty converse and jeans and plain t-shirt. Brenda gasped.
"Oh my goodness, don't tell me that you are actually wearing THAT on your first date? Let me help." she rolled her eyes and walked into Angela's closet.
She pulled out a button up blue shirt and some skinny jeans. She handed it to Angela. "Put that on. I mean, you are still going to look ugly but it's better than that."
Angela changed and looked in the mirror. She looked at her reflection and smiled.
Suddenly there was a knock on the door. Angela tried to hurry and rush downstairs but Scott got to it first. He looked down at Javier. "Who are you?" Javier gulped and straightened his shirt.
"Hi- I mean, Hello sir!" he stuttered. "I-I'm here for Angela."
Scott squinted at him. "Yeah she told me about you. You take good care of her, you heard me?"
Javier looked at him seriously. "I'll always take care of her sir."
Scott laughed. "All right, you guys can go now." Angela made it down the stairs and stood next to Javier. "Okay bye dad!"
When the door closed, Javier looked at her and then his smile brightened up. "What?" Angela asked. He pointed at his outfit. "We match." Javier was wearing a blue button up and jeans too.
Angela just giggled. "Where are we going?"
"Well we are going to go to the Carnival that they are having in town"
They both got in Javier's limo that he came in, the Chauffeur opened the door for Angela, and they drove off.
********
When they arrived at the Carnival, the Chauffeur told Javier "When you are done, you can call me so I can come get you." Javier frowned. "But I don't have a-"

The chauffeur slammed the door and drove off. "How are we going to get home?" Angela cried out.
Javier frowned. "Wait." He dug into his pocket. "I just remembered, I do have a phone." Angela sighed. "Oh good, but I wish I had a phone."
Javier remembered. "Oh right, I remembered that you didn't have one so I bought you one."
He dug around his pocket for a minute and handed her an iPhone 5s. It had a pink case. She took it. "Wow it's so pretty!" He nodded. "Yeah, so what do you want to do first?"
She looked at the games, rides, and food booths. She saw the balloon pop game. She pointed to it. "That one."
They walked towards it and had to step on the wooden step to reach it. Javier said, "3 darts please."
She smiled at him. "That will be 5 dollars. If you want 6 darts to try to win the big prizes, its 10 dollars."
He slapped down a $100 and smiled at her. "Keep the change."
He aimed at them and popped all six balloons. He picked a brown bear that was bigger than he was and handed it to Angela.
She blushed and said, "No you don't have to give it to me." He smiled at her. "Just take it! You are my girlfriend anyways."
Angela's face turned red. "Okay then..."
After that, they went on rides, bought a bunch of stuff, and won a lot more prizes. When they got to Angela's house, she turned to Javier. "Thank you for taking me with you to the Carnival."
"Your welcome." he looked nervous. Angela was about to ask why, when all of a sudden he quickly kissed her cheek. "Bye."

She turned red and just sputtered. "Oh umm yeah bye!" she slammed the door and lugged all of her stuff inside.
The first thing she heard was Brenda screeching, "How was your date? Where did he take you? Did he buy you anything?"
Angela said, "Yeah he did but I'm going to my room." Before Brenda could say a word, she ran up the stairs with all of her stuff.
She closed her door and flopped on her bed. She took out her new phone and started messing with it. Suddenly she got a message.
"Hi Angela! It's me Javier."
When they finished and Angela said Goodnight, she flopped down on her bed and went to sleep happy for the first time in years.

Disclaimer: I'm not continuing this story. Check out Azarinth Healer, it's a more current story where I worked on a lot of things I found wrong with this one. Main character is somewhat similar as well so if you like Eleonora, you'll probably like Ilea. I still invested a ton of time writing this so check it out if you feel like it. There's gonna be 20 Chapters 39k words total. Hey everyone. This is a story I've started writing like a year ago and thought why not post it now. This story is about fighting and magic in a pretty standard fantasy world. The story follows Eleonora through her daily life in Duneswatch and on her way to become an adventurer. No secrets here, it's pretty generic. Should be decently paced so just give it a shot if you want to. I'm not gonna sell it to you in this quick summary. The range of writing on RR is so wide we both know you just have to give it a chapter...or a paragraph depending on how unique the grammar is. Please do criticize harshly. I'm definitely no writer but everybody can improve with pointers in the right direction. Don't expect regular updates.

The Eternal Vigil
The year is 2220, a time when governments and nation-states are slowly becoming a thing of the past. Instead, all prominent parts of human society are now organizing around the commands of three great Artificial Intelligences, owned and operated by the world's largest corporation. World peace has been achieved, and the very word 'politics' has disappeared from people's lips. Religion has largely disappeared, replaced in some parts by worshipping of the great AIs, but mostly substituted by a devotion to material goods and faith in the market. There is now a general consensus that the best form of government has been found. No, it is not democracy, nor is it autocracy or oligarchy. Instead, it is technocracy - rule by the learned, the intelligent, and the skilled. And who are more learned, intelligent, and skilled than the great AIs? Exactly, no one. The AIs will correct some market failures once in a while, but shall otherwise let the market be free. After all, the freer the market, the freer the people. Some may question how society advanced to this stage, but that is all they will do - question. Because they will not find answers, for history is no longer taught anywhere. After all, it is not a practical subject. One cannot get a decently paying job with a history degree. Society doesn't have any time for people to idly ponder about the past. No, this is a practical society of practical people: engineers, doctors, lawyers, developers, managers, bankers, soldiers, and the such. My name is Aiden Scivit and I used to be one such practical man: minding my own business, doing my job, with the faith that hard work will always be rewarded by the market...and that politics and philosophy were things thought of by idly people who leech off society. But this all changed, and here is my story, my history. Just because the stories of ages long past have been erased, does not mean that a brand new beginning cannot be created. The story is already finished but I still need to do some editing so a chapter should be released each day for a month. It is a bit political, as you can probably tell by the introduction, so there is that (it will low-key read like a philosophy dump 10% of the time, so really it's like Atlas Shrugged but liberal and worse lol). Also, I actually wrote this in grade 10 as part of my MYP Personal Project, and recently touched up on it for online publication. Finally, if you find the writing style passable and are interested in my other works, check out the one in the link below. It is a fantasy set in the Ancient Greek world, and is completed and uploaded in full: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/35099/the-oresteia-modernized

Shattered Realms - A Pathfinder/D&D game
Broke adventurers looking for a quick and easy paycheck are thrust together as circumstances around them get weirder and weirder. Authors note: This is an ongoing Pathfinder (DnD) game, which will inevitably contain references to other works due to the nature of nerds. Chapters will be random lengths, mostly as long as a game session and depending on how much I can embelish it. Also, some details may change retroactively to maintain consistency. I'm not going to write it as LitRPG, mostly because that's extra work. I'd rather the flow of the story not be interrupted by numbers. I am aiming for updates within a week or two of the game session, which will usually be weekly. Finally, there is a light swearing, gore and sexual references warning. I will update this warning if needed, but will also not write in anything that's too graphic or irrelevant to the story.
