《Forced to Raise Yanderes for a Living》0.2 Soulmates [Ending 2]

Finally, I was done. The relief I felt in my soul was indescribable. As I opened my eyes, I cried in relief as I laughed softly to myself in the barren white room.
The goddess of the afterlife dropped her romance novel to the floor in bewilderment. Perhaps she had expected me to be angry as per usual. But right now, I held no hatred in my heart. Only pure unbridled joy.
"So then..." I started with a smile. "How did I do?"
The goddess cleared her throat before fixing her posture on the throne. "Uh, let's find out then, shall we?" She answered hesitantly as she opened the status window.
Mission complete:
Reward - 1,000 points
Achievement List:
- Obtained magical abilities +100 points
- Started a fake rumour at school +100 points
- Attended a masquerade ball +100 points
- Got exiled +100 points
- Had consensual sexual intercourse with another transmigrator +5,000 points
I started to blush once I saw the last achievement. The goddess was quick to catch on as she narrowed her eyes at me.
"From what I've observed, you seemed to have really loved that boy, Nicholas..."
I turned my cheek as I tried to hide my flustered face from the goddess. "Was it that o-obvious?" I stuttered.
The goddess giggled in response. "Yes." She responded. "Well then, since you have accumulated the grand total of 15,500 points, what will it be then?"
I looked back at the girl. "Continue to transmigrate or retire to the afterlife?"
"Ha, you don't have to ask me twice," I said laughingly. "I'm retiring!"
The goddess closed her eyes in glee as she clapped her hands together. "Excellent! As it stands, your ideal afterlife seems to be a faraway kingdom with your soulmate!"
She started to flick through the tabs on the window to browse through the images of my afterlife. "I'm certain that you'll enjoy this. It is full of scenic nature sights!"
That doesn't sound bad. As long as Bennett isn't there, I'll take what I can get! Dusting myself up I prepared myself to leave. "Alright then, work your magic then!"
"As you wish. Goodbye then, safe travels!" She said with a beaming smile as she waved me off.
...
When I opened my eyes next, I found myself in a situation resembling a past awakening. I was lying in a field of flowers. Except, this time, it was blue Forget-Me-Nots.
As I held a hand up above my eyes to block out the blinding sun, I was greeted by the sound of singing birds. I suppose the goddess was right about my afterlife being... scenic.
Taking it one step at a time, I dusted my baby-yellow, flowing summer dress off. From the looks of it, I was all alone. Knowing that my soulmate should be around here somewhere, I decided to wander off deeper into the forest.
As I continued to take a casual stroll through the lively and bustling forest, I soon caught wind of a fragrant aroma. "Freshly baked bread..." I mumbled to myself.
Following my nose, the smell only grew stronger as I eventually came face to face with a small but homely cottage. As I stood there admiring it, the door soon opened up and out came a man.

"Nick...?" I said in a shaky voice as tears started to form in my eyes.
Upon noticing me, Nick dropped the buckets of water he was carrying and came racing toward me. As he held me in his embrace, I couldn't stop myself from crying. "You're really here? I thought you had no intention of retiring just yet?"
Nick smiled as he kissed the crown of my head lovingly. "I'd be crazy to not want to spend the rest of my life with you." His eyes softened as he held my chin up high. "I love you, Vana."
I gave Nick a toothy smile as I tried to fight back the happy tears. "I love you too, Nick."
As we kissed each other passionately it felt like time itself had stopped moving. It was as if the universe was just spinning around the two of us.
Lifting the veil off of my face, Nick stared deeply into my eyes. The voice of the priest fell on deaf ears as we were far too absorbed in each other. It was only when I was given a slight elbow nudge that I was finally brought back to reality.
"Oh, eh... I do!" I said nervously as I tried to hide the embarrassment I was feeling.
"By the power vested in me..." the priest continued after clearing his throat. "I now pronounce you husband and wife."
Nick's grip on my hands tightened as it felt like we were walking on cloud nine. "You may now kiss the bride."
Not wasting a second, Nick kissed me passionately as the crowd erupted into loud cheering and clapping. This moment... it was... magical. It was hard to believe that any of this was even happening to me.
Picking me up bridal style, I giggled as Nick and I made our way down the aisle. Every second I'm with Nick I feel safe. I never have to worry about a single thing with him by my side.
Every day felt like an adventure. It was never dull when we were together. I never knew how exciting it could be to go on dates and well... experience life itself for the first time.
As Nick chased me around the beach, I couldn't help but laugh giddily as he finally caught up to me. "Ahaha, no-no-no!" I repeated with a playfully pointed finger.
But Nick didn't stop as he pinned me to the ground. "Caught you!" He flirted as he twisted my silver locks around his finger.
"Oh yeah? I bet you want a reward for it too, right?" I said teasingly as I pinched his face.
Nick laughed at my taunts as he shrugged, cheerfully. "I guess a reward would be nice..."
Pushing him up and off of me, I ran my fingers along his toned chest as I smirked at him. "Well, that's just too bad. I don't think I'm done with you chasing me just yet!"
Before Nick could react, I jumped up onto my feet as I raced towards the ocean and stuck my tongue out at him cheekily. Nick shook his head as he smiled to himself before pursuing me once more.

As we splashed water at each other playfully, Nick caught me in his arms as he spun me up in the air. "N-N-No! Put me down!" I said with a smile as I tried to contain my laughter.
Watching the sunset together, I rested my head against Nick's chest as we laid together on the hammock. "I never watched a sunset before. It's beautiful..." I casually remarked as I snacked on the berries we collected together earlier.
"I guess it is." Nick agreed as he kissed the crown of my head once more. "But not as beautiful as you."
I tilted my head back to look up at him and cringe. "Damn, that was cliché!" I mocked playfully.
"Ah, you're secretly loving it." He affirmed as he smiled to himself.
Maybe. Maybe I was... but I'll never admit it! Sitting upright, we started to make out lovingly. As Nick went to plant a trail of kisses along my jaw, my toes curled as I felt the butterflies in my stomach flutter.
Rubbing his hand seductively, I looked up at him innocently while batting my eyelashes at him. I didn't have to say anything for him to get the message. He carried me to our bedroom without saying another word.
Taking me by the hand, Nick led me into the centre of the town square. I shook my head as I tried to hide my embarrassment. "C'mon, everyone is staring at us..." I tried to refuse.
Nick shook his head as he intertwined our fingers together. "And pass up on this music? I don't think so!" He said cheekily as he ushered me to dance with him.
I suppose it wasn't too bad. Once more people started to join in on the dancing to the street performer's music, I didn't feel self-conscious about myself anymore. I allowed myself to let loose to the music.
Despite nearly tripping over each other's feet on numerous occasions, our enjoyment never faltered for a second. With Nick twirling me around, I found myself gripping him for balance.
"Woah, there!" I joked as I tried to readjust my footing. As we interlinked our arms together, we laughed it off as we continued with our stroll through the town.
Everything was perfect. I had nothing to complain about. Being with Nick was everything I could have wished for and more.
Brushing my hair behind my ear in the wind, I smiled as I admired him from afar. It looked as if he was enjoying himself as he tossed our daughter up in the air.
Looking down, I felt a tug at my dress. "Mom..." Harry said as he looked up at me with puppy dog eyes.
I bent down to smile at him as I ruffled his messy brown hair. "Go on, go play with your father and sister." A smile grew on his face as he raced towards them.
Returning to my baking, I added the finishing touches to the chocolate cake. If only my dad could see me now. He'd be impressed by how far I've come when it came to both my cooking and baking...
Taking a spot beside Nick in the meadow, I rested my head on his shoulder. "You're a surprisingly good dad," I commented absentmindedly.
Nick shrugged. "You think so? I think you're a great mom." He retorted as he pinched my nose teasingly.
Never in a million years could I see myself having kids. The thought of it scared me for the longest time. But with Nick around, it almost comes to me... naturally.
"Amelia, play nice!" Nick shouted as he caught her trying to force her way onto Harry's back. She rolled her eyes in response as she ignored him.
"That girl really is stubborn sometimes..." Nick raised a brow as he looked at me to continue. "I guess she gets that from her mother."
With a gasp, I hit Nick on the chest playfully. "I'm not stubborn. I'm just... too headstrong sometimes." I declared while puffing my chest proudly.
Nick laughed it off as he shook his head. "Whatever you say, honey." He relented as he kissed me on the lips.
"EW!" Amelia shouted as she pointed a finger to her mouth in disgust. Ah, the children are watching us.
"You're just jealous because no one will ever want to kiss a brat like you," Harry said tauntingly to Amelia as he crossed his arms, haughtily.
Amelia was gobsmacked as she punched Harry in the shoulder. "THAT'S NOT TRUE!" The heated girl maintained as she whipped her silver locks behind herself in anger.
"N-N-NO ONE WILL EVER KISS YOU BECAUSE YOU'RE UGLY AND HAVE BAD BREATH!" Amelia continued.
Harry furrowed his brows as he pointed his finger at Amelia in frustration. "No, I don't!"
To prevent the outbreak of a loud tantrum, I rose to my feet with a sigh. "Alright you two, I think it's time for bed."
They started to pout as they dragged their feet through the meadow and back to the house. Taking hold of Nick's hand, all we could do was smile at their fussiness.
Just as I was about to enter the house, Nick pulled me to the side and he wrapped his arms around me, comfortably. I raised a brow at his forwardness.
"After those two are gone to bed, how about we have some..." he leaned in close to whisper seductively. "Adult alone time."
I smirked mischievously at his suggestion. I liked it when Nick was bold, it always got my heart racing. Wrapping my arms around his neck, I found myself quickly taken with his dark and gorgeous eyes.
"You don't have to ask me twice," I answered in a flirting manner. Leaning in once more, we started to kiss each other passionately as we got lost in the heat of the moment.
As Nick ran his fingers through my hair, I lifted a leg up coyly before jumping up to his waist. As I wrapped my legs around him tightly, I smiled cheekily against his lips.
This was perfect. My life with Nick was practically picturesque. To spend eternity with him was the best reward I could have ever hoped for. Nick is my... soulmate.
