《SimpleMinded》I Want To Join The Fashion Show

"Looks like Kylie have to run errands for everybody for the next three days." She gives me the finger and I laugh. I pick Bean up and rub her belly. "We all know that he is not in the UK. It's a high possibility that he is in this country, but there is also a low possibility that he is in some other country."
Adam raises his hand, "What do y'all even do? Ty and Jay just said that you help people." I look at the two idiots, "Don't even try to explain." I hold my index finger up at them and they both close their mouths, "We save kidnapped people. Sometimes the job can get violent and we really need someone who is good with medical stuff to be by our side." Clare looks at me, "Who are you looking for?"
I look at Kylie and she whispers in he ear. "We'll tell you that later." She nods her head and I look at Haven. She crosses her arms and sticks her tongue out at me. My mouth drop, "What did I do?" She looks away from me and I walk up to her, "You're being unfair."
I drop my head, "There's a reason why I can't tell you. I'm not going to tell you, so stop asking me about it." I walk up to the dry erase board, "I don't know why, but I have a huge feeling that he's not in the US. If so, he would be the furthest away from us. Since we're in Washington he would be on the other side of the country." I write on the board, "We aren't making our move until he gives himself away."
I put the marker down and look at everybody. "Be prepared to go to a different country." Jay starts groaning, "I don't want to get on another plane. They're scary." I roll my eyes, "You can stay and I'll find a substitute for you." His mouth drop and I shrug my shoulders, "Pick one."
He gives me the finger and I laugh, "I'm guessing you're coming along then." Rafiki climbs up my leg and sits on my right shoulder. He hugs my head, "What's their names?" I look at Clare and smile, "The puppy name is Bean and this badass monkey name is Rafiki." Adam starts laughing, "From The Lion King, right?"
I sit down with a heavy sigh, "Can we leave?" I look at Ty and sigh, "Yeah." He stands up and claps his hands, "Cookout at Niall's house." They all start cheering as they all run off. I look at Haven and see her clapping, "My husband went with them. He's very outgoing." I drop my head, "Ty and Jay are going to rub off on him."
We leave the planning room and head outside to the parking lot. "Ty, buy us some drinks. Jay bought some last time, it's your turn." Ty mouth drop and Jay laughs, "Finally!" I get in the car and Haven gets in seconds after. We head to my house and I look over at Haven as soon as I stop at a light.

"Are you mad at me?" She looks at me and shakes her head, "No, you said you can't tell me." I let out a long sigh, "You'll understand sooner or later." We pull up to my house, "What the hell?! You live here alone?! Why the hell is your house so big?!" I look at Adam as we all walk to the front door, "I don't live here by myself. I live here with Haven, Bean, and Rafiki."
He looks at me with a dumbfounded look and I chuckle, "This house is still too big for two people, a dog, and a monkey." Clare comes up beside me, "How long have you and Haven been together?" I look at her and shake my head. "I take care of her, we're not dating. She's been kidnapped since she was a baby. My dad was the one to find her, but he made me take her in." She nods her head in understanding.
I text Ty to get some meat while he's at the store. I walk to the backyard and check the grill. I start cleaning it and Haven comes out, "What's wrong?" She looks at me while holding Bean, "Do I annoy you?" I look at Haven with wide eyes, "This is like your second time asking me this. No, you don't annoy me. Why do you keep asking?" She shrugs her shoulders, "Because you always drop your head when I talk to you."
I look at her and laugh, "Sometimes the topic we're talking about is a topic I have to find the right words for. Haven, you never annoy me, so don't keep thinking that." She nods her head and smiles at me, "Okay." She puts Bean down and goes out in the yard to play with her. I continue to clean the grill off and Rafiki jumps on my shoulder.
Ten minutes later Ty comes to the kitchen with a lot of meat and drinks. "I want some ribs! Make some ribs!" He hands me a rack of ribs and I roll my eyes, "Okay, no need to bug me."
"Ribs? I want to try some." I look at Haven and smile, "You will try some as soon as I'm done cooking. Let's go, boys, we're going to stand outside and talk. Including you, Adam." Adam's mouth drops, "It's too hot, I want to stay with my wife." Clare pushes him, "No, I want to get to know the women I will be working with for now on."
We walk outside and Haven follows us, "Go with the girls." She shakes her head, "You know Kylie and Rylee, so there's no need for you to be scared. Go with them." She turns around and slowly walk back in towards the girls. "What's wrong with her?" Adam asks as he plays with Rafiki, "She was kidnapped since she was a baby until months ago. My dad was the one to find her and I have been taking care of her for the whole time."

I season the meat and let it sit for a while. "I'm happy she got used to everybody. It's going to take her some time to get used to you and Clare." I sit down on my hammock and rock back and forth, "What are you going to do when we find him?" I look at Ty and shrug my shoulders, "Honestly, I don't really know. I would like to beat him until he can barely even walk, but the right thing would be to just turn him in with a few scratches."
I want to know how he treated Haven. What was his reason behind all of this? I feel the hammock move and see Haven climbing on, "Why aren't you with the girls?" She shrugs her shoulders, "I want to be with you." I stand up and walk to the grill, I put the meat on the grill and sit back down.
Minutes later the girls come out in their swimsuits. Jay spits his beer out, "Hot damn!! Y'all look fine as hell!!" Rylee winks at him and laughs, "Thank you." Bean runs and jumps in the pool, Rafiki follows behind her. I look at Haven with a smile, "You okay?" She nods her head, "Yes. Beach?"
I show her a questioning look, "Beach? What about the beach?" She looks at her fingers, "I-I want to go." I take a sip of my beer, "We can go sometime later on, right now is not the right time." A pout crawls on her lips, "Why? Is it annoying?" I shake my head, "No, right now isn't the right time for us to go to the beach."
She stands up and walks away, "What's wrong with the beach?" I look at Jay and sigh, "It's too risky, we don't know when that man might take action and being at the beach is the easiest place for something to happen." I check the food and look over at Haven. She is sitting under the tree while looking up at the sky.
"Let her get over it by herself." I stop walking and look at Rylee, "She's never going to learn if you keep going to her after she gets upset."
"You're supposed to be teaching her everything she's supposed to know, but some things she needs to learn on her own. Don't you think so?" I sit down by the pool and she swims in front of me, "You're right." She shows me a small smile, "What are you two smiling about?!" Ty asks as he swims our way, "Nothing that involves you." Rylee answers him while splashing him.
My eyesight falls back on Haven, "She'll get over it." I hear Rylee say as I stand up and walk back to the grill. I take the meat off the grill and put it in a bowl of barbecue sauce. I had the girls choose the sides they wanted to make. "Niall!!" I flinch at my loud sister voice, "Must you yell like you're dying?!"
Dexter follows in right behind her, "I will die if you don't help me out!" Everybody walks in as soon as I finish up the food. I make mine and Haven's plate, "What do you need help with now?" Haven makes a little plate for Rafiki and then sits down beside me, "I need you and your team to be models for my new clothing line."
I choke on my food and Kylie pats my back, "Hell no! There's no way in hell that's happening!" She throws her head back, "Please!! One of my favorite designers is coming to see my fashion show!! I want to do something different by having inexperienced people wearing my clothes! Please just do this for your little sister. Glenn and his family are doing it." My eyes widen, "Glenn? Our older brother Glenn? How did you talk him into it?"
She waves her hand, "None of your business." I roll my eyes, "Jess and Sidney wanted to be in the fashion show and you know how Glenn can't say no to his girls." I look at Dexter and Brit glares at him, "Eat quietly or I'll help you eat." Dexter quickly nods his head, "Yes ma'am." I laugh and she groans, "I really thought you persuaded Glenn, I almost fell for it. Glenn needs to learn how to say no to them once in a while."
She puts her face in her hand, "Impossible, he never says no, unless it's over something serious. Please, this is a once in a lifetime chance for me. If I catch her eyes I would be one of the top fashion designers around here." I look at Jay and them, "What do y'all want to do?"
Jay and Ty shake their heads, Kylie and Rylee shrug their shoulders. Adam shakes his head and Clare nods her head, "I would love to be in the fashion show!!" Brit eyes widen and she rushes over and gives Clare a hug, "Thank you! I don't even know you, but thank you so much!"
"Fashion show?" Brit looks at Haven and nods her head, "Let me show you a video." She pulls out her phone and shows Haven. "There's no way Haven would want to do that. She doesn't like people."
"I want to join."

Phantom Storm
"Have you heard, the entire Bonanno crew was brutally murdered!" Exclaimed a youth in his early teens. "What? you're lying, again!" Another similarly aged child responded with crisp denial in his tone. After all, the crew was infamous for their ruthlessness. An eery silence passed between them. Soon enough, the teens' curiosity trumped his ego, and he found himself inquiring in a meek voice. "So...Who did it?" "I heard my father talking about it while he was drunk. Guess what he said?..." The child responded, he was a natural-born storyteller. Listening intently, the other teen urged him on. "It was done by a single person. When the police arrived, the bodies were charred black, likely the work of an electro mage. Most had an arrow or two lodged in their body, and a few were even chopped into neat little slices by a sharp blade." He paused, inhaling sharply. "All the victims had shocked expressions on their faces. As if the enemy was invisible or something. That's why they call that person the Phantom Storm!" concluded the adolescent with an excited glint in his eyes. 2 CHAPTERS PER WEEK (Canada time) [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] -------------------------------------------- Follow Itsuki as he is reincarnated in an unfamiliar world, left to discover where he belongs in such a place.
