《Alpha Cravings》Chapter 18 The Cell

Waking up I notice Damon’s side of the bed is cold, telling me he has been gone for quite while. Getting up I take a look around to see whether the bathroom was ok to shower in. It wasn’t so putting my shoes on I decided to head to my parents, at least their would be clothes for me to wear there. Linking Damon I tell him where I would be if he needed me, waiting for a reply none came. Shrugging I headed down the stairs.
It was extremely cold outside, the air felt icy. Looking up snow clouds were visible, winter had arrived early. Shivering I entered my family home. Mum was in the kitchen cooking sausages and scrambled eggs my mouth started watering. “Hello sweetie" she says as she came towards me wrapping her arms around me. “Leo told me what happened to your suite at the pack house.”
Remembering dad's words from last night I quickly look my mother over for injuries and finding none I ask “Speaking of that why did dad rush off for last night.”
“The same man was here last night Phoebe. I was up in your room packing the rest of your stuff when I heard the frontdoor open and close. I knew it wasn’t your dad so I hid behind your door. Upon entering your room, he sensed I was behind the door and tried knocking me out. I guess this old body still has a good fight left in it.” she lets out a little chuckle “as I was able to take him down. Your father found me sitting on top of him, and he was knocked out cold." I bring her in for another hug. “Where is the man now" I ask feeling so relieved that he had been captured and by my own mother. ”Leo and Jason took him to the prison cells last night. They are all there now including Damon. But he won’t talk.”
Pulling out of her arms I say “Mum, I have to get ready and get there. I want to know why he was in my room and if I leave it up to Damon or Dad to tell me they will lie, you know they will.”
“Ok as long as you have something to eat before you leave.” She adds before turning and heading back towards the stove. Running up the stairs into my room, I notice all my clothes are in suitcases. Rummaging through them I find a pair of Blue Jeans, Black high neck jumper and my black boots. Heading into the shower, I quickly do what needs to be done then quickly getting out and dressing I head back to the kitchen where mum has a plate ready for me.

Making my way to the prison complex I noticed it actually looked more like an old garden shed. But knowing it like i did I knew it had 4 levels below ground. The lowest levels was were we kept the most dangerous of Rogues or crazy people. I'm greeted by Ted Smith. He was one of our prison guards. Standing at 5’8,” and a bit on the chubby side he has short brown hair, brown eyes the colour of dirt, dark tanned skin with a few tattoos on his upper arms and a prominent scar on his face that ran the entire right side from his right eye down to his jaw. With a scowl permanently on his lips he looked frightening. But in fact, he was one of the nicest people I know. Greeting Ted, I ask him nicely where they were. His look told me he knew who I was talking about. “You know I can't let you go down their Phoebe. Damon will skin me alive. He warned me you may show up and not to let you in.”
“Don't make me hurt you Ted, or use my Luna command. Now tell me what floor are they on.” I ask him annoyed at the fact Damon didn’t want me down there. After getting the information I needed from Ted I took the stairs down to the second floor.
Opening the main door to the cell area I was quite surprised at the cleanliness of the area. It was also well lit and rather warm. Walking along the corridor I heard Damon’s thunderous voice. “Tell me rogue who sent you?”
“I would rather you kill me now then tell you.” Came a voice I didn’t recognise. “So after some beatings it finally speaks.” came Jacobs voice.
I stopped out side a door that I’m assuming to be the cell that belonged to who ever broke into my room.
Opening the door the sight that greeted me made me feel sick to my very stomach. A male was facing towards the cell wall in silver cuffs. (Silver suppresses us from shifting into our wolf.) Every inch of his bare skin that I could see was covered in bruises, cuts and whip marks. Blood covered every surface, including Damon, Jacob, Dad and Alpha Black. Damon held a whip in his hand ready to strike again. “STOP” I yell. I don’t know what happened but everyone in that room including Damon and his father submitted to me. The stranger after a while bursts out laughing, While the others held expressions of disbelief or confusion and unable to form words. “What are you laughing for rogue?” I ask.

“Plenty actually. I’m not even looking at you but I sure as hell can sense you.” He stated matter of factly.
“Sense what?” I question. The others are still standing with the same expressions.
“How is it that nobody knows what you are?” He lowly muttered.
“We do” says my dad.
“Really!” replied the stranger I could detect humour in his voice. “If you do why is she walking around on her own shouldn’t she have guards.”
“For a white wolf? Have you lost your mind rogue.” Spits out Jacob.
Damon finally looks my way his eyes rolling his lips are pressed together, he is clearly annoyed at me for being here.
Again the rogue laughs “Ignorance can also be a curse.” he murmurs.
Damon finally finding his voice asks “What do you mean rogue?”
Again the rogue lets out a deep laugh “I think I’ve answered enough questions for today.”
Damon tried asking more questions, but the rogue wouldn’t speak. Hanging up the whip, Damon took off out of the cell not bothering to even look my way. Once back on the top floor Damon let out a low menacing growl at Ted. “Why did you let her down there?” I didn’t give Ted time to answer as my annoyance at Damon took hold of me. How dare he treat me this way.
“I Luna commanded him.” I yelled at him. “I will not be treated like this Damon. I had every right to be there. I’m meant to be your equal and not some whimpering female. If I was just your Beta you would of wanted me there, because it would of been my job” Feeling really angry, I marched out of the building. Damon was behind me yelling out “You are not my Beta, you are my Luna. It’s no place for women Phoebe.” I spun around, getting even angrier clenching my fists together and squinting my eyes at him I yelled even louder “really why do we lock them up for then? And tell me why we have god damn female guards and warriors for?” I turn back around ready to leave I add “It’s the same thing Damon.”
Shifting into my white wolf we ran and ran and ran. Ella whimpered in the back of my mind as she felt betrayed by her mate. I didn’t know how to deal with my feelings just yet either.
Coming across a little hut curiosity got the better of me so I shift back in to my human form and go inside. Looking around I felt like I had been here before but I knew that I hadn’t, then I remembered my dream. I could tell by glancing around that nobody had been here for years, as the furniture that was in it was full of dust and cobwebs and was made years ago. Finding a long dress that looked centuries old in a chest in the only bedroom it had, I put it on. I decided that I would spend some time away from everyone for awhile. I felt Damon try to mind link me but I ignored him. Lighting a small fire with some branches I found nearby it didn’t take long for the little hut to warm up. I felt Damon try to link me again, again I ignored him. I will not be that type of woman that does only womanly duties, and relies on a man when he knows I’m capable of much more. If I was his Beta being in that cell wouldn’t of bothered him. Being Luna shouldn’t of mattered either. Nope he wasn’t pulling that with me. I will stand my ground on it. I will show him. Stripping out of the dress I shifted and I went back out into the forest and caught a small rabbit. Taking it back into the cabin I put it over the fire I had made after I had skinned and cleaned it. While waiting for the rabbit to cook I decided to clean the hut up. By the time I had cleaned the place my rabbit was cooked. Feeling better with a full stomach I decided to get some sleep.

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)
