《Amethyst x Reader (Steven Universe)》Chapter 4

You had woken up early this morning so you could prepare a nice breakfast for everyone. You knew Pearl wasn't going to eat anything, and Garnet, well, who knew. You were sure Steven would enjoy it, and so would Amethyst. Gathering up the ingredients from around the kitchen, you placed them quietly onto the counter, so as not to wake anyone. Grabbing a skillet, you began to fry some eggs, humming quietly to yourself as you did so. You made two batches just because you knew how much Ame could eat.
Next, you began to prepare the batter for the pancakes, once again making extra. You then started pouring extra-big circles onto the griddle. You were so focused on cooking, you didn't hear the sound of someone sneaking up behind you. Just as you were turning to grab a spatula, a poof of curly brown hair entered your vision, and you clapped a hand over your mouth to keep from screaming.
"Steven!" You whisper-scolded him. "You scared me half to death!"
The culprit looked down, an embarrassed blush crossing his face. "Oh, hey, I'm kidding. I just wasn't expecting you right behind me, is all." You explained, ruffling his hair.
The young boy's features lit up in a smile, relieved he wasn't going to be yelled at."What are you making? Can I help?" he asked excitedly, peering around to see the contents of the griddle and items on the counter. "Oh! Are you making a together breakfast?" Steven said quietly, but with excitement still evident in his voice. "A what?" You had no idea what he was talking about. You'd never heard of a "together breakfast."
Steven didn't hesitate to explain. He told you all about that day he made the gems a breakfast they could share, and the wacky adventures he had to go through just to get everyone in the same place. You gasped in surprise when he told you how they had to fight a giant breakfast-monster when Steven's cooking accidentally became sentient. When he had finished, you said he could definitely help with preparing pancakes and other breakfast essentials, as long as they didn't come to life and try to eat everyone back.

You both set to work, setting the table, pouring out glasses of freshly squeezed orange juice, flipping pancakes, and frying eggs. Once you had finished this task, and cleaned up your clothes and the mess you had made of the kitchen, Steven went to fetch the gems from their rooms.
Pulling out one of the stools from underneath the counter, you sat down and waited for Steven and the gems. The magical door made a whoosh as it opened to reveal all three crystal gems, even Pearl. Not to your surprise, Amethyst came running over, eager to devour all that she could. You grabbed her arm before she could eat anything, though, so you, Steven, and maybe Garnet could have a little of the food. You knew Pearl wouldn't eat anything, but you appreciated her showing up anyways.
Amethyst turned to you, your hand still firmly holding her arm. "Uh, (y/n), you gonna let go? Lemme eat, man! I'm starving!" She said loudly, shapeshifting her head into an alligator's to emphasize the point. You held on. "Ame, I know you must be really hungry, but let everyone else get something to eat before you devour everything in sight. Please? I did make extras for you." You said, giving her puppy dog eyes.
She huffed, giving in. You wrapped your arms around her shoulders, resting your chin on top of her head.
"How long are you going to stay like that?" Amethyst laughed.
"For as long as it takes everyone to make themselves a plate." You said, watching as Steven served himself from the buffet-like arrangement. You smiled, seeing Garnet take some of the food too.
Amethyst had now decided she'd had enough, and promptly picked you up into a piggyback ride. You pretended to try and get free, but really you were perfectly happy to be carried by your girlfriend. She scooped basically everything that was left onto a plate, and sat down at the coffee table. You were still holding onto her, but you would periodically dart your hand down and steal food from either the plate or right out of her hand. This prompted her to roll her eyes and whine for you to stop. You knew she really didn't mind, though. You let go of her and instead sat next to her, while Steven laughed at your antics and Garnet let a small smile slip through.

After breakfast everyone cleaned up, and you and Amethyst spent the rest of the day together in her room. She showed you all of her piles that she hadn't shown you already, and the two of you relaxed and did basically whatever you wanted the whole day, especially lots of surprise hugs/tackles and a few small kisses, too.

Tales of Ordinary, Completely Unremarkable Contractors
"Where life had no value, death, sometimes, had its price. That is why the mercenaries appeared." - Artur Xerxes, in A Century of Disappointment: Memoirs of a Travelling Dwarf It's never too difficult to land contracts for a set very specialised skills in a continent teeming with werewolves, vampires, giant leopards, undead and, god forbid, elves. The difficulty comes when these contractors find themselves suffocated in the dense atmosphere of this world's rigid - and mostly unfair - rules; death, suffering and misfortune await those unwilling to sacrifice to bend these in their favour. In this non-linear plot, you will observe a scarred and deformed farm girl cashing her first bounty posters, a seemingly ordinary barmaid at a tavern in the bustling centre of a sprawling, corrupt city and an enigmatic leader of a firm specialising in dealings any other would consider suicidal. Watch them all take everything to the next level at every available opportunity, and then feel dread at the thought that this still might not be enough to halt the physical embodiment of doom about to do what it does best Please, feel free to review and comment! Any sort of feedback can help me become a better writer and write more engaging stories for you. I used to update once every 3-5 days, but this rewrite is taking much too long...I do hope it will be worth it.
