Draco paced back and forth in the hospital as he waited for news. He played with the ring on his finger unconsciously. When he saw the doctor he rushed towards him.
"I'm so sorry Mr.Malfoy. We lost her."
Draco fell to his knees, "NO! NO! NO!"
———
Hermione shook Draco gently. He awoke with reds in his eyes, when he saw Hermione looking he calmed down. Hermione stroked his cheek lightly and brought her forehead to his. "What did you dream about?"
Draco wrapped his arms around her torso, "it doesn't matter. You saved me once again."
Hermione sighed knowing he wouldn't tell her. She stood up from the bed, "tomorrow neither of us have work, let's go for a broom ride to clear our heads."
Draco kissed her head, "I'll get the broom. You put on a sweater."
Hermione nodded and grabbed one of Draco's cardigans. Draco smiled at the sight, Hermione was the cutest. He hoped that Blaise could help him find the cure. He'd give his life if that meant saver hers.
Hermione snapped him out of his thoughts by grabbing his hand and leading him to their balcony. "we'll have to be careful."
Draco chuckled, "come on." they got om the broom, Draco with is arms on either side of Hermione grabbing onto the broom. The view of the city below then was beautiful.
Draco kissed Hermione's shoulder, "you shouldn't think negatively. I'm going to do everything in my power to help you."
Hermione rested her back against him and smiled. They didn't need to talk about that right now, Hermione wanted to enjoy this moment. Being here flying around with Draco, both enjoying each other's company and warmth, feeling Draco healthy heart beat calming her nerves. The uncertain future could wait.
______
Hermione looked at herself in the mirror trying to gather confidence for the day. She was going to meet up with Harry and Ginny for their double date.
Draco knocked on the door, it was open but he wanted her to see him before walking over to her. Hermione smiled at him, "do think they're going to invite...?"

Draco sighed hugging her. "I don't think so but I'm sure he already knows something about you now. Sure they're on not great terms but he's still her brother. But you have nothing to worry about Mione, I'm right there next to you."
Hermione nodded taking a deep breath, she didn't imagine that talking again with her friends would be this hard. She leaned up to give her boyfriend a soft kiss, merlin she was lucky she didn't have to do any of this alone.
They got ready to leave to the restaurant they were supposed to meet the Potters at. Ginny had reserved a round table that had two extra chairs claiming it was for their bags.
It started out fine. Harry carried most of the conversation, enjoying having his best friend back.
Draco stayed out of the conversation for the most part, he mostly just watched Hermione feeling relief thst she was laughing and smiling as she talked.
Ginny was still a bit awkward with her but it was to be expected.
Harry turned to Draco, "you own a bookstore now?"
Draco felt his cheeks heat up, "uh yeah. Books are very useful Potter."
Harry raised an eyebrow. "Is that the only reason?" he asked with a playful smile.
Before he could respond someone behind Hermione cleared their throat. Hermione saw as Harry's fsce turned from a playful expression to pure anger as he glared the person behind her. Her heart sunk knowing who it was. "What are you doing here Ron?" Harry asked with a cold tone.
Hermione held in her breath. Ginny looked down at her lap, "I invited him Harry." everyone at the table stared at Ginny. Ginny took a deep breath, "he deserved to know we found Hermione."
"He deserves shit." both Harry and Draco told her.
"And why is thst?" Ron asked.
Harry glared at him, Hermione knew that if they weren't in a muggle area he would hex Ron out of here himself. She wanted to hex him as well, and Ginny. She felt a gentle hand cover hers, it was Draco. Then she heard a voice in her head, 'Do you want to leave?'

Hermione shook her head slightly for her boyfriend to notice. Ron walked around to sit next to Hermione but was stopped by Harry who switched seats away from his wife and next to his best friend. He shook his head, "you don't deserve to be next to her."
Ron huffed annoyed. "Just say what you want to say Weasley or leave." Draco said a low threatening voice.
Ron looked over at Draco, "what are you even doing here Malfoy? Did she finally lower her standards that much to date a death eater."
Hermione glared at him, "Don't call him that."
Draco kissed her cheek, "it doesn't bother me. Specially coming from a no good cheater."
Hermione chuckled kissing his cheek back. Ron rolled his eyes, "Don't get too comfortable with her. She's a prude, had to pay to actually get some action whilst I was with her."
Harry glared at him, "you have no right to talk about those things. Mione never owed you shit."
Hermione placed a hand on Harry's shoulder standing up and taking her drink and his. She looked at Ron, "you never deserved me and I regret not leaving you back at Hogwarts." Before he could answer something else she spilled both drinks over his head then looked at Draco, "I would like to leave please."
Draco took her hand and with his other hand he grabbed another drink to pour on Ron and he finally left with Hermione.
Harry stood up as well, "I don't actually feel like paying since you ruined our plans Ron so you'll have to pay this one." He turned to his wife, "I can't believe you actually did this."
"Harry I didn't think-"
Harry put his hand up to stop her, "I'm going to apologize to Hermione for your actions. And you Ron," he poured yet another drink on Ron, "Don't ever talk about her like that."
Harry left ignoring the stares that came his way, he was used to it by now. He quickly stopped to tell the waiter that Ron would pay for everything and apologized for what had happened.
He looked around the nearby area for Hermione and when he couldn't find her he went to her flat.
Draco answered the door. Harry sighed, "look I just came to apologise. I didn't know Ginny would even tell Ron."
Draco offered him a small smile, "oh no we expected that but thank you Potter. I'm sure Hermione would love to spend some time with you if they're not there."
"can I talk to her?" Harry asked.
Draco shook his head, "she went to lay down. She felt unwell after that."
Harry frowned, "is she sick?"
Draco hesitated for a moment. "I think she should tell you about it and not me. I'll tell her you said sorry and that you want to talk to her. It wasn't your fault Potter besides she looked like she really wanted to pour all of that on Weasley."
Harry smiled, "yeah, it felt good. He never did deserve her. Anyway, I should get going."
Draco nodded saying goodbye and closing the door. He walked to the bedroom and went to sit down next to Hermione. He casted the spell to check in her heart when he heard a small chuckle. "I'm fine. Just closed my eyes."
Draco kissed her forehead smiling. "just wanted to make sure you were alright."
Hermione sat up looking at him with a soft gentle gaze. Draco smiled at her, "what?"
Hermione just smiled back, "I just really like you."
Draco blushed, "me too and I'm thankful for having you in my life again."
Hermione opened her arms for a hug feeling too tired to move. Draco happily accepted the hug. "how about I cook something for us and I can bring it here?"
Hermione nodded feeling hungry, "I like that idea."
Draco kissed her before going to the kitchen to cook something. He would tell her about Harry later, for now he had to make sure she was fed and had enough energy for the rest of the day.
He hoped Blaise would be able to find a cure soon, he hated seeing Hermione so weak but he would happily take care of her.
