《Shadow》Part three Roman's perspective

Out on patrol again and I see that psycho Shadow, without even thinking I hurl a fireball at him. "You could have killed him! What the hell is wrong with you?!" I scream at the monster a few feet in front of me. "He couldn't have died I made sure of that and I know for a fact that Logan is the single best person in the world to treat any minor injuries he sustained." His eyes widen a bit as he realizes that he just gave me information as to who he is. "So are we going to fight or not because I ain't in the mood to chat and if you don't fight me I am just going to start destroying shit." He says angrily. "Ooh or better yet I can just pay Patton a visit, you probably left him with Logan and seeing how protective you are over Patton you probably made Logan cuff him. That would be an easy fight." The demonic villain mocks. "There is no chance in hell you are hurting him, I would gladly kill you before could," I shout back so aggressively that he recoils back a bit.
I start hurling fireballs at him and then I get an idea, that may be wrong but anyone who tries to hurt Patton deserves whatever happens to them. I cast out a long rope of fire and wrap him up with it, I keep strengthening it as he tries to escape clearly in a ton of pain. "You know even if you beat me today I will figure out soon enough who you are!" He says before disappearing in a cloud of smoke. I pick up my phone to call Logan to warn him when I feel my hair being ruffled and an evil laugh. When I look back to my phone it is encased in a dark purple force field.

I start flying to Logan's house and after a few minutes the force field disappears and I arrive. Knowing that he would be keeping Patton in the treehouse and likely staying with him I just burst in. "He knows about Patton!" I exclaim out of breath. "Calm down what is going on," Logan says way to calmly for my taste. "He knows that Patton and PopStar is the same person and that we came to you for medical care." He takes a deep breath. "So let me get this clear, you brought Patton into this years ago and now you have put his life in danger because you wanted his help on your foolish escapades. I went along with your plans for too long, building your suits so that the two of you could fly and be stronger and more resistant, I built weapons to keep both of safer, and I treated each and every one of your wounds. But you were stupid enough to let him get at the one thing I couldn't build something to protect him with. I swear to God if he gets hurt in the slightest I will kill you!" He says getting angrier with each syllable. "Fair enough but now we really need to figure out Shadow's identity." He nods. "Next time you take him for patrol I am coming with you, and I will not take no for an answer." Well, I can't really stop him now so I guess he will have to come. "Fine but only to protect Patton. And I am staying with the two of you until morning and then I am going with him everywhere." Logan nods. "I wouldn't have it any other way, and we are not to tell Patton of this. We are very fortunate that he is an extremely deep sleeper, it truly is liiiit. Was that the correct usage?" He says and pulls out a vocabulary card.

We end up not sleeping to keep an eye on Patton so to keep ourselves awake we come up with a word association game but with a lyrical aspect.
Roman
The XBONE can go
and the PlayStation's lame.
That is why
I love word association games.
So, for this one:
let's say every time I say a word
We'll jump to THAT train of thought
and that's how we'll frame the verse.
Mother, ,
Brother from another Mother
, may I step up farther?
of Coca-Cola,
, rockin' 'til my heartbeat stops,
Complex, , gummy, , crop
"That was actually rather enjoyable." He says after we finish. "Yeah, you aren't nearly as bad at this as I would have thought." "Why would you have assumed that I was bad at it?" "Well because it involved creating music on the spot." He sighs. "Let's have a rap battle to show you how much skill I have at it." It should be easy to beat the nerd anyways so. "Sure! But I am starting." He nods. "That will be satisfactory." He turns on a basic beat from Youtube.
"Ladies, Lords, and Non-Binary Royalty. Watch me as I beat this geek. And do it joyously! I'll vanquish any villain with the gall to try to toy with me. Ask the Dragon-Witch. She knows the drill. You're screwed ROYALLY!" He adjusts his glasses. "Stricken with clairvoyance. Events occurred as I'd foreseen. Your verse was weak. Your rapping stinks. Flamboyantly. Employing these. Trisyllabic rhymes. PSSH! I can match that easily. I'll beat you every time. So you do not want beef with me, Princey!. I drown out lesser emcees when I flow. There's no avoiding me. Under pressure, I rise up--Holler at your buoyancy!" I hear Patton go. "Woo!" "Diadems are worn on Capita. I had this battle on lock like Attica!. You're through, go home Princey. Pack it up. I claimed to be the better bard. And I backed it up."
I am honestly just dumbstruck. "How did you?" "I have an appreciation for poetry. And I do apologize for my text tone going off during the battle, it appears as if Virgil texted me." I laugh a bit. "Your text tone for Virgil is Patton going 'Woo!' really?" He smiles. "Patton decided to change it last night and I allowed it since it really wouldn't bother me at all but it amused him." I smile a little knowing that Patton was probably just happy to be so close to Logan.
The rest of the night we spent just relaxing, Logan was reading and I was watching musical performances of Heathers and Hamilton, which are two of my favourites. It was calm even though we were both really uneasy and pretty anxious. He did text Virgil for a little bit too, probably worried about why he was texted so late at night.

For Grass and Glory
Being old is difficult. But losing the love of your life to natural selection and being left in the dirt is even harder. Join Walton in his final journey as he figures out if his principals are just as important when there is nothing left to lose. Combating hypocrisy, youth, bad diet practises and a general lack of respect towards humanity, Walton's struggles are the true adventure of the everyday man. A story about unlikely friendship, being old, unexpected beauty, and the obsession of kicking a round leather ball in the best way possible. A story about a new world, and its possibilities. A story about the grass, and let us hope, a small bit of glory? Author note: This is a project of mine I started in 2016 and recently been writing for again. Writing for me is something I love to do, but can't always find the time for. This is also the reason I have not finished (or come close to) Ethereal Space yet. I get distracted. I started this novel intending to create something else, to break a bit with the current go to's story wise in the litRPG or virtual reality communities. So, this is my attempt at "Something different" I would love feedback or just your general opinion. But most of all, I hope it entertains. Enjoy!

Shrike
He wants to play the latest and greatest VRMMORPG game, but he can't muster up the cash for the fancy new proprietary hardware and membership license. After months of saving up cash and arduous work, he has built a behemoth of a machine relying almost entirely on seedy old technology and a DIY guide by some dude named "Jimmy Bob." This is the story of his entry into the game. This is also a story of intrigue, exploration, introspection, batshit crazy game design, and unintended but entirely predictable consequences. This is G.C.O. Undergoing a total re-write, mostly because I think things were too rushed rather than any content or direction changes. If you are one of the few who tried Shrike when it was briefly updating, consider giving it another shot. Of no relation to either The Great Crusade or the recent (in 2017 lol) Shrike book for Warhammer by Games Workshop. All similarities in these cases are superficial; please don't sue me. Feedback welcome and encouraged, never be afraid to review or comment. HQ/Kindle-Grade cover art. Book Cover 2.0: "From the Dark"

"How do you run the mafia?" he questions, wiping the corner of his mouth. "Well, I ground myself enough to not let the power get to my head, but I let myself get pissed enough to deal with motherfuckers like you," I say, calmly, picking up the hammer from Cameron's hand and making my way back over to the asshole, who flinches when I crouch down in front of him.
