(A/N: TW, SOMEONE DIES. IT'S NEAR THE END, BUT YEAH- SORRY FOR MAKING YOU FEEL TERRIBLE 💀
I snickered as Mic finished her story about what she heard on the roof. I never would've guessed a tough 'jock' like Trophy would be into a joker like Cheesy. Shows what I know.
I yawned and looked at the clock. It was about 3:30.
"Should we get to sleep?" I asked, looking back at Mic.
"Yeah, probably. Staying up with you is kinda fun though."
Mic had a pleading look in her eyes, and I couldn't say no. "Fiiiiiine!-" I laughed, pulling closer to Mic to lay my head on her chest. She allowed me.
"It doesn't require lying down. Wanna go back to the roof?"
Hmm.. I hadn't been out of the house since what happened in the woods. "Sure," I said, hopping up out of bed but immediately falling due to sitting down for so long.
"I'll carry you!" Mic offered, lending me her hand.
"And I won't complain," I yawned, taking her hand. She pulled me up and let me onto her shoulders.
When we got to the roof, I tapped her head to be let down. She carefully lowered me and I steadied myself.
Mic once again offered her hand and I took it. We walked over to the bench, where incense were still out from Mic's story. I sat down and let Mic sit beside me.
As I leaned on her shoulder, looking into the stars above, I thought of the time last week we watched the meteor shower. I didn't notice I started to talk until I was rambling.
"And those big balls of flames are so pretty from far away. I wonder how they started to call them stars? Was it just... someone's great idea? Cause it sounds pretty to me. Just like when your name's said, I think of something pretty, like you!"

Where did that come from?-
Mic blushed and rolled her eyes. "You done sounding like Test Tube?" she asked, though I could tell she would've listened to me for hours without complaint.
"Unless you want more, yeah," I laughed.
She said nothing as she pulled me closer and rested her head on top of mine. When she spoke, it was calming. "I love you."
"I love you too." I snuggled close to her and let her hold me.
She looked at me as if I were a star. Heaven on Earth. We hadn't even been together for 2 weeks and her eyes were almost pleading for me to marry her.
Did I look at her like that sometimes too?
I smiled and held her back. It was nice to be taken seriously.
Suddenly she looked up. I looked at her questioningly until I realized...
There was smoke coming from the window below us. Then there was yelling.
"Lightbulb! I told you not to mix those!"
"But Testy, I had to know what happened!"
"Great, now there's a fire! Let me go get- ...."
"What's wrong?"
"We need to get out of here! Why didn't OJ give us fire extinguishers?!"
"Wait! I need to grab Baxter!"
Me and Mic looked at each other. Without a word, Mic picked me up and rushed me to our room to grab some things.
She quickly sat me down and told me to stay there. After rustling around in her desk, she got out a small box and a necklace. She went back to me and picked me up, then rushed back out.
"Where are we going?"
"You know how you used to be a loudmouth? Do that again. Warn people to leave."
So I did. I screamed, "Fire! Everyone out now!" My screams echoed throughout the halls.

Once I was too out of breath to scream anymore, the fire had eaten up most of the top of the hotel.
OJ was screaming for the bottom floor to evacuate, but his voice was useless because of the crackling of the roaring fire. So I started to scream again.
"Fire! Get out, now!"
I was gasping for breath once everyone had gotten out. My throat was sore from the smoke and screaming.
All of the hotel was out on the lawn. What had once been warm feelings throbbing throughout the air and loud voices calling out, were now warm smoke and worried, hushed whispers asking each other if they were okay.
Then I realized Fan and Paintbrush we're not there.
I jumped out of Mic's arms and ran to OJ.
"OJ! Fan and Paint-"
A gasp came from the crowd. I turned to see Paintbrush thrusting Fan out onto the grass then collapsing in a coughing fit.
Lightbulb immediately rushed over to Paintbrush and helped them up, while Test Tube picked up Fan and started to check him over for any injuries.
Paintbrush was struggling to breathe, which caught the attention of many people, causing them to crowd around them.
Lightbulb, who usually was bright and nice, had a fury burning in her eyes. "Get away from them! They need space!" she snapped.
The anger surprised many people, and they did back up, breaking into small groups again.
Mic and I cautiously creeped over to where Lightbulb was. I could barely hear what she was saying.
"I'm such an idiot... I'm so sorry, Painty..."
"N-no. It's a-alright. You were c-curious." They weakly grasped Lightbulb's hand. "Is T-Test Tube done with the m-medicine yet?"
Lightbulb shook her head.
"O-okay. Tell m-me I'm gonna be alright...please?"
Lightbulb blinked away tears and smiled. "You're gonna be okay. I promise."
Paintbrush laughed, but it was more of like a huff than a laugh. "Well, I'm glad you've never broken a promise, then."
Lightbulb broke down at this and pulled Paintbrush up to hug them. Mic and I exchanged glances of sympathy before returning to the scene before us.
"Oh my god Paintbrush, I'm so sorry!"
Paintbrush sighed. "Stop c-crying, Lightbulb. Where's th-that bright smile I l-love to see?-"
Lightbulb did smile at this, but it was a sad smile.
"T-there we go!" They reached up, and with effort, wiped away Lightbulb's tears.
I tapped Mic's hand. "We should leave," I whispered to her. She nodded and led me away.
My voice sounded raspy. When I was too tired to walk, I collapsed onto the grass.
Then there was a scream. "No! Painty, please!"
OJ and others immediately rushed over to see what happened.
Paintbrush had died.
