"Harry, it's almost dinner time." Zayn said.
They were laying in his bed, with Harry half way on top of him and half way awake.
"Mhmm." Harry hummed, bringing Zayn's hand back to play with his hair.
"You need to take me home now." Zayn chuckled.
"I really don't want to." Harry whined, slipping his arms around Zayn's thin frame and squeezing him, his head on Zayn's chest.
"You're the definition of clingy." Zayn chuckled, trying to breathe.
Harry paused, lifting his head. "What?"
"I said you're the definition of clingy." He repeated.
Harry let go of him, sitting up. "I'm sorry." He said, looking hurt.
Zayn chuckled. "I was just kidding, Harry. I meant because of how you were actually clinging to me."
"Oh." Harry said, feeling like an idiot.
"You're so cute." Zayn said in a funky accent, sitting up and pinching Harry's cheeks.
Harry grinned, grabbing his wrists and leaning forward to kiss him.
Zayn hummed, sinking into it and holding Harry's sides as Harry straddled his lap.
"I know what you're doing." Zayn said against his lips.
"Is it working?" Harry asked, kissing him firmly.
"Maybe." Zayn mumbled, loving the way Harry's pretty lips felt against his own.
Harry smiled some, the two sitting there kissing for ages.
Eventually, Harry pulled back just a bit to take his shirt off, and Zayn stopped him.
"Take me home, Harry." He said softly, smiling at him.
Harry pouted, moving further up against him and making sure to grind.
"No, stop," Zayn said, immediately pushing until Harry was off of his lap.
"My mom will be mad, we have to go."
Harry sighed heavily, reluctantly getting out of bed.
"You'll see me tomorrow, I don't get what the big deal is." Zayn chuckled, getting his stuff together.
"I have to sleep alone tonight. I've grown to hate that since you came along." Harry said sadly.

"Can I call you?" He asked.
"Harry, I have homework." Zayn said as they walked downstairs.
"That doesn't answer my question at all." Harry said.
"Maybe when I'm done doing all the work I've neglected because of you." Zayn smiled.
"Fine." Harry smiled back at him.

Later that week on a rainy Tuesday morning, Zayn woke up late.
Probably because he hadn't slept the night before because his busy mind wouldn't let him.
He had to rush, which he hated, so the day began with him in a bad mood.
"Hey babe." Harry smiled, coming up to him as he and Niall got out of the car.
"Hey." Zayn said, not having the strength to fake a smile.
Harry stood there with a large pastel pink umbrella, and wore black rainboots with his outfit rather than his usual boots.
"I think the three of us can fit under this." He said, looking up at his umbrella.
"I'm fine." Niall chuckled, pulling his hood on and walking off.
"Well I know we can." Harry smiled, linking arms with Zayn, pulling him close.
"You okay?" He asked as they began to walk.
"Just woke up late." Zayn mumbled.
"Is that all?"
"I guess." Zayn said, feeling irritated now.
Is that all?
What did he mean was that all?
Zayn had a significant reason for feeling the way he felt, damn it.
He pulled away from Harry, sighing.
"Babe-"
"Look, I'm fine, okay?" Zayn almost snapped.
"Obviously you're not." Harry said, staring at him.
"Well here and now certainly isn't the time or place do discuss it. So whatever let's just get to class." Zayn said.
Harry didn't say anything else, following him.
He decided to give Zayn some space, hoping he'd be feeling better by lunch.
But in Zayn's second class of the day, he was asked to present.

Presenting wasn't Zayn's thing.
At all.
He politely said no, but the substitute insisted.
Zayn still refused, and she wouldn't leave him alone about it.
Other students were staring, whispering to each other about how ridiculous he was being, and sighing heavily as if Zayn was causing so many problems for them.
In the middle of all of this, Zayn broke.
He began to shake, fighting to keep his composure.
He fought with all that was in him, and eventually she left him alone, informing him she'd be leaving his teacher a note.
"Dude why didn't you just present?" A student near him asked, giving him a look.
"Why don't you just go kill yourself?" Zayn hissed at him, tears building in his eyes.
"What the fuck is your problem?" The guy frowned, attracting attention.
Zayn struggled to breathe, getting up and grabbing his bag.
He rushed out of the classroom to the bathroom, slamming the stall door after he was inside.
He tried to calm himself down, failing miserably and releasing a broken sob.
Zayn sank down onto the floor, crying quietly and trying to ignore all the voices in his head telling him he was weak, and overreacting.
But of course the voices got through, making him feel completely worthless, failing to see why he even tried anymore.
How was he supposed to make it through life if he couldn't even stand up for himself without feeling like he was going to pass out?
How could he ever do anything if he couldn't even talk to a stranger on the phone?
Why did everything have to be so difficult?
These questions and many others circled through Zayn's head until he eventually stopped crying and had calmed down, slipping into a dull and hopeless state.
He remained that way, and it was very obvious to Harry and Niall at lunch.
"Need to talk about anything?" Niall frowned with concern.
"No."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
Harry stared at him, bothered by how sad he looked. "Babe what happened?"
"I don't want to talk about it, it's stupid."
Niall knew what that meant.
"Zayn I told you before that whatever you feel is just how you feel. You can't help it."
"Yeah? Well how come everyone else can, hm? Why is it so easy for everyone else?" Zayn snapped.
"It isn't. Everyone has their own battles that they feel are weird or insignificant or something." Niall said.
"What upset you?" Harry asked.
Zayn sighed. "I don't know, okay?"
Harry blinked. "Well there has to be a reason-"
"No there fucking doesn't! I don't have to explain! I couldn't even if I tried! Sometimes I'm sad and there's no specific reason at all! Yeah, that's a thing. Not everything is pastel umbrellas and rainbows and smiles! Not every person's depression has a reason! Got it?" Zayn yelled at him.
The moment Zayn began to yell Harry flinched enough for Niall to notice.
The entire time Zayn was yelling Harry seemed to shrink, his expression falling.
But by the time Zayn finished, Harry's expression was hard, and cold.
Regardless of the hurt in his eyes, he gave Zayn such a look before he got up and walked away.
"Fuck!" Zayn spat, getting up and storming off in the other direction.
Niall just sat there, blinking a few times before he slowly went back to eating his lunch.
Trouble in paradise wouldn't stop his appetite.

Across the Realms [Dropped]
Disclaimer: I'll leave this on here for anyone to read. The last time I uploaded a chapter was nearly a year ago, and to all the readers who still kept their trust in me after I came back from my umpteenth hiatus, I am sorry. I will not carry on writing this; I started off without the correct foundations of a novel, nor commitment to fully finish it and I do not want to lie to you all once again. Maybe one day, I may decide to re-write the novel, with a new basis or at least a comprehensive starting point with many of the narrative errors cleared up; but, till then, this is goodbye. And, once again, thank you for the motivation you gave me. Even now, I see many emails come through with people commenting. Goodbye. A child blessed by the Astral. An unprecedented destiny. Watch his path, as he marches up the stairway of Heaven. A March of a Sovereign. [Adventure, Wuxia, Martial Arts, Fantasy] This is a Qihuan novel; it has eastern and western fantasy elements. More often than not in Xianxia or Xuanhuan there is a severe lack of character development, being a western writer I'm changing that. My characters, from my totally unbiased view, feel fleshed out and actually have emotions. This is my first attempt at a novel, I'm writing as a means to better convey my thoughts. I will, hopefully, steadily improve chapter-by-chapter. I'm very open to feedback and constructive criticism. As one can see this is a cultivation novel, so you know how this goes. I've decided to jump-start the whole rags-to-riches scenario. He is strong from the start and is given the utility to do so. *The cover art is not my own, all rights reserved to the owner. I will take it down if necessary. *The style of the recent chapters is comparatively different than Chapter 1.
