I strode down the stone pathway to the door of my small house. Another day of work finished, and my brain is exhausted. Earth still felt so foreign to me, I wasn't quite used to the world yet. I place my bag down, as I fumbled through my keys.

A few twists and turns, and I'm in my house. It was dark, as usual with no lights on. I sighed, dropping my keys on the side table as I walked down the hall to the living room and switching the light on. I was greeted with a soft meow, and a small black figure jumped on the coffee table. I smiled, sitting down and allowing the small black cat to jump in my lap and make itself comfortable.

"I'm home, Zer." I said as I got another meow in response, the cat pawing at my hand urging me to pet him. I stroked his fur as I opened my laptop. I took a deep breath, diving into the deep feelings of nostalgia. I cycled through video files, playing them as I sat back and relaxed.

"Video log number one, by Helena Sorenson. Test subject; Zerksis. Status: Full grown male, appears to not be hostile as the his siblings. Shows clear signs of understanding and problem solving. The growth rate is faster than any organism of this size. Growing to an adult in just a few hours, at most a couple days. Almost like an insect." The past me said, as I watched myself.

I sighed, remembering the good times of studying my passion of Xenomorphs. The good times of taming, training and developing a bond with Zerksis.

I winced at the last memory I had of him. How he was so close to my grasp, but yet was pulled away so quickly. I swallowed the lump in my throat, holding back my tears.

Maybe there was no moving on.

I shook my head, standing up as Zer hopped of my lap and followed me into the kitchen. I shook a bag of treats as I brewed a cup of coffee. My cat ate the treats happily before my attention was directed.

Knock Knock Knock

I snapped my head to the door, cautious as I approached it. Nobody really knew where I lived, apart from James and I hadn't spoken to him in months. Who could it be?

I clenched my jaw, pushing myself away from the counter and down the hall to the door. It was a silhouette of a man in a black suit. I unlocked the dead bolt and opened the door. It was a shady looking man, turning to look at me.

"Ms. Sorenson. I work for Mr. Yutani, we've located the special specimen."
