Sanjana's P.O.V.
I woke up with a massive headache and the left side of my face throbbing with pain. I turned my face and smiled as I was greeted by Rohan's face. I smiled as I took in his disheveled form. He must have slept only an hour ago since I remember that he was awake both the times I had a nightmare. I hesitantly brought my hand up to cup his cheek as caressed it as he snuggled closer to me.
The door to my room slammed open and I glared at Sonia.
"I just wanted to inform you that breakfast is ready,"
"I'll be there in a minute," I said.
I sat up and stretched my sore arms and got off the bed. I tucked the blanket around Rohan and kissed his forehead before walking to the kitchen.
"Good morning,"
"Jiju still sleeping?"
"Yeah,"
"Some gentleman he is," dad snorted.
"He was awake all night looking after me, that's why he's asleep," I snapped but immediately feel guilty.
"Sanju--"
"I don't want to talk about it okay? Just let me eat peacefully without giving me those pity filled glances okay?"
"Beta--"
"Sanjana! Dad have you see--" Rohan came to a halt as he looked at me.
His hands were trembling as he was gasping for breath. He closed his eyes and calmed down before muttering good morning as settling besides me. With trembling hands he took the spoon and stirred the porridge.
"Jiju's hands are still trembling," Sonia quipped as she giggled.
"Sonia," mom reprimanded her.
"I was just scared," he groaned.
"Scared of?"
"That--"
"That's none of your business Sonu, chup raho,"
"Rohan,"
"Yes dad,"
"I'm sorry about yesterday, I didn't mean those words, I hope you know that," dad said.

I furrowed my eyebrows as I looked at dad and Rohan in confusion. What words? And why was dad sorry?
"What words?"
"Oh nothing big, you know never to take words spoken in anger seriously," Rohan said with a casual shrug.
"Mhmm?"
"It's was just dad being silly Sanju,"
"If you say so," I muttered before focusing on my porridge. But I'd already remembered what words. My memory was still a little hazy but I knew now what he was talking about.
°
"Rohan,"
"Ha Sanjana?"
"Why... why were you so scared in the morning?"
"Nothing it's just silly," he said as he avoided eye-contact.
"Rohan," I said as I sat on the bed besides him.
"I woke up... I woke up and you weren't here I just thought you'd left and--" he halted and he stared at me with a small smile on his lips.
"I got scared okay?" He said softly.
"And why would I want to run away from the best life partner I could ever ask for?"
I wrapped my arms around his torso and hugged him tightly.
"I'm sorry I was just paranoid,"
"Don't be sorry, I get it," I murmured.
He pulled back and smiled before yawning. Of course he hasn't gotten enough sleep.
"Rohan, you haven't really slept so please sleep,"
"I don't feel like sleeping,"
"If you faint on me due to lack of sleep I'll murder you,"
"Do people actually faint due to lack of sleep?"
"Maybe?"
He laughed as he shook his head.
"You know you've never let me down right?" I said.
"Sanjana,"
"I may have been motionless but I was conscious you know,"
"Can we please not talk about me letting you down now?"

"Why? So that you can sulk? You didn't let me down Rohan, you didn't,"
"Yeah yeah," he murmured.
I sighed as I placed my hand on either side of his face and forced him to look at me.
"You didn't let me down Rohan, I'm not going to repeat it again because if you want to be sad over nothing, go ahead but let me tell you, you never let me down, not even once," I whispered as I stared at him.
"I--"
"Don't wanna hear it, I'm actually tired so I'm going to sleep,"
"I know what you're doing,"
"What?"
"You're luring me to sleep,"
"Woah don't get ahead Ro, I never invited you, you can sit here,"
I got comfortable under the covers and closed the blinds of the window before closing my eyes. I felt arms wrap around me and smiled as I felt the bed dip beside me. He snuggled closer to me and just held me as he closed his eyes and in no time his breathing evened indicating that he was asleep.
"Don't feel like sleeping my ass," I murmured as I turned to face him and weaved my hand through his hair.
I might have fallen asleep as well because the next time I woke up it was to a knock on my room.
"Come in," I said.
I sat up completely aware of the way Rohan adjusted so his head lay in my lap as he continued snoring. Sonia walked in, her eyes widening as she stared at Rohan before sitting on the sofa.
"He must have been exhausted,"
"Clearly,"
"I just wanted to tell you that I'm going to go home, my mother-in-law is a little ill so I'll have to go,"
"Home huh?"
"What?"
"Nothing I'm just happy for you," I said honestly.
"And I'm happy for you Sanju," she whispered as she stared at Rohan.
"Mhmm,"
"He really is an amazing man,"
"I know Sonu, and I'm so happy that he is my husband,"
"You guys make me happy," she said with a smile.
She got up and walked over to us as kissed my forehead before leaving. Rohan shuffled and opened his eyes as he smiled at me.
"Morning," he murmured.
"Evening you mean?"
"Mhmm,"
He pulled me down until I laid next to him and crushed me under his weight as he snuggled me.
"Get off me, you're heavy fatso!"
"How dare you sweetheart? You can't break my heart like that,"
"Rohan,"
"Hanji,"
"You're heavy,"
"Sanj--"
He was interrupted when his phone started ringing and he got up as he answered the call. Whatever he must have have heard, his whole form goes rigid and he starts cursing. I sit up and place my hand in his as I squeeze it a little.
"Fine Sunil, I'll come back," he grit out before he hung up on the call.
"What happened?"
"Nothing--"
"Shut up and tell me," I say as I narrow my eyes.
"The police," he tells me.
He didn't need to say anything more because I understood.
"Let's go," I murmur as I get up and walk to the bathroom.
I stop in my tracks when Rohan wrapped his arms around me, pulling me into his chest as he rested his head on my shoulder.
"I'm so sorry sweetheart," he whispers as he kisses my forehead.
"You don't need to be sorry, give me five minutes I'll go get ready,"
