Blinding sun rays fell upon my face, waking me up from my deep slumber. I rubbed my eyes and straightened my back. Eleena was still passed out on the bed, her soft breathing filling the room. I reached out for my phone to find 43 missed calls and 57 texts from mom and dad. I am so screwed. I glanced over at Eleena, careful not to wake her and slowly slipped out the room.
🦑
Where are you?
Azia anong oras na
It's 11pm now!
When you get home, there is a blanket and pillow outside for you.
Answer the call
Azia

So stupid
Nothing Ma😭, my classmate just had an accident so I'm staying with her
🦑
My eyes widen in fear while my phone vibrated in my hands. My mum is gonna butcher me alive. Cant believe I forgot to text her last night. I took a deep breath and swiped to answer it.
"Hey Ma, good morning!" I said cheerfully.
"What do you mean good morning, I've been texting and calling last night, I almost called the police Zia, come home now!"
Yeah. I'm definitely dead when I get home.
"Yes Mama sorry po, I'll explain myself when I get there, leaving now."
Ah. I turned around and quietly went back inside Eleena's room.
"Oh, good morning." There she stood. The blinds and windows had been opened, allowing the morning sun to settle into the room. Her round face was puffy from her long rest which made her look adorable.
"Good morning, I kinda have to leave, sorry my mum is gonna beat my ass." I began gathering my stuff before a hand stopped me.
"Thank you for staying with me, means a lot." I stared into her honey eyes and i could tell she was being genuine.

"It's ok, I really have to go now so I'll see you." I swung my bag onto my shoulder and left.
My hands trembled turning the knob to enter inside. I scanned the hallway. Thank God, I made it home safe. I threw my bag down and began victory dancing towards the kitchen.
"OUCH!" I yelped as a pair of slippers hit the back of my head.
"AZIA WHAT TIME DO YOU CALL THIS?!" My mother yelled, reaching for another shoe.
"MAMA! LISTEN WAIT PUT THE SLIPPER DOWN."
"YOU ARE GOING TO BE GROUNDED DIOS." I ducked down to avoid the incoming slipper.
"IT WAS A GIRL MAMA."
"Oh? You hab girlpren?" She said, cradling the slipper in her arms.
"No oh my god, an accident happened and I stayed with her at the hospital so she's safe."
"Ok, glad I raised you well, you're still grounded until you're 67."
"MAMA?!" I protested as she walked away from me. Great. The things I do for that fucking brat.
"I'll talk to her," I turned around and saw my dad standing at the doorway.
"Thanks." I mumbled back and trudged up the stairs to my room. My bag hit the floor with a thud and I jumped into my bed. Man I didn't realise how much I've missed this.
Kind of surprising huh? You'd think I'd have those "emo" rooms with black walls and posters everywhere but no. Some people like it simplistic. Don't judge a book by its cover darling.
My phone's screen lit up, a familiar name flashing into view. I sluggishly reached out for my device and rolled onto my back. 1 message from Chloe.

Noli Me Tank in a Mall
Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo are important cultural works that ignited the Philippine Revolution against Spain. They are novels that exposed to the populace the abuses and the injustices of their Spanish colonial rulers, the hypocrisy of their priests, and inherent cruelty of their class structure over the powerless masses. Unfortunately, they rose up in the middle of the Spanish-American War, one which saw Spain lose most of their overseas colonies and decisively end as a World Power. The war ended in the 1898 Treaty of Paris, in which Spain also sold the Philippines to the USA for the sum of twenty million dollars. The revolutionary government was then crushed by the overwhelming military might of the United States and the Philippines turned into a territory. While the Philippines stands as the USA's greatest successes in nation-building, their early occupation left almost one-fifth of the population dead from combat and disease. Jose Rizal was executed by the Spanish long before knowing what might happen to his country. The world presented within The Noli and the El Fili is therefore stuck frozen in time, forever caught in that moment before a Revolution. Now let's see what happens to this nation if we give it the Light Novel treatment and jam the entirety of the Internet into their protagonist's skull and watch him try to fix things with his unfortunate tendency to sound like a supervillain. Updates Mondays and Fridays. Note: The Noli and El Fili have been public domain since 1946. This is completely fair game.

~Trust Me ~
"I want a divorce."And just hearing him say that my whole world that seemed to revolve around him stopped. Gathering myself I barely managed to speak in a voice that even I could not recognise. No other except this?"It was foolish of me to ask him but I had to make sure. Also for me trust comes before love. If he doesn't trust me I don't even want to save the relationship."Is this not enough you whore? What else can I expect from a slut and a gold digger like you! I knew it from the start that all you showed was just a facade. Your innocence, kindness, it was all fake. I just don't believe how can I be so dumb."Was I hurt? NoI was broken beyond repair. My heart ached. I felt like I was seconds away from collapsing. I had far exceeded the limit of hurt and pain. I was so powerless in that moment that I couldn't even fight with him.
