Steph's P.O.V

I hear the doorbell ring at 6:30 sharp. If Carter was anything, he was a very punctual man.

I open the door to reveal Carter, looking just as dashing as usual. He was wearing:

"Damn," he says

"What? Does it look bad" I ask, instantly getting self-conscious

"No, no. You look, amazing" he says

"Thanks, you don't look too bad yourself," I say

"Um, these are for you," he says, handing me a bouquet of flowers

"Awe, you didn't have to," I say taking them and smelling them

"I know, but I wanted to," he says with a smile

"Let me just put the flowers in a vase and we can be on our way," I say, he nods in agreement and waits for me as put the flowers in a vase. I then walk back to the door where Carter is.

"Shall we?" he asks, holding his hand out to me.

I put my hand in his, "We shall" I say with a smile

The car ride contained the usual. Us singing and laughing like complete idiots. Half an hour later we pull up to the venue where the charity event is being held. We get out, Carter tossing the keys to his car to the Valet and takes my hand in his.

"I'm sorry about all the photographers" he whispers in my ear

"I told you before, it's ok, everything comes at a price right. So if in order to date you I have to deal with a million cameras flashing in my face majority of the day, then it's worth it" I say looking at him with a smile

"You're too cute," he says with a chuckle, kissing me on the lips slightly

We get inside and get to our table. By some miracle, Lucifer and Tara were at our table, so at least I would have someone to talk to

"Damnnnnn girl. Since when could you dress?" says Tara

"Bitch, fuck off," I say with a laugh

She was wearing:

"Seriously though, you look hot," she says

"Eh, you don't look too bad yourself," I say sitting down next to her

"Bitch, I look drop dead gorgeous thank you very much," she says with a laugh. Carter and Lucifer had started a conversation of their own, most likely about their businesses.

Lucifer was wearing:

I'll admit, he looked good but not as good as my Carter. Soon after, everyone was in attendance and speeches were made. Was I paying attention? A little bit. Of course, Carter wanted me to meet some of his fellow business associates so I was by his side the whole time. The night was going great until that evil bitch showed up.

Anastasia

I swear to God, I have never hated someone so much in my entire life.

"I see you've brought your little office rat with you," she says to Carter, looking at me with disgust

"What do you want Anastasia" he replies

"Oh nothing, I'm here with Tim," she says. As if they had rehearsed it, Timothy Andrews comes up behind her, pulling her close.

"Oh, so the Andrews boy is your new fuck buddy, how nice" spits Tara. I couldn't help but laugh at her remark

"What are you laughing at you money hungry whore," she spits. Ouch.

"Don't you dare talk to her that. The only money hungry whore here is you. I mean that is the only reason why you decided to come back. Because you thought you could just walk back in whenever you fucking feel like it. I'll have you know that Timothy can't give you anything other than a good fuck, his and his father's company is going out of business, so good luck with that" Carter snaps. I've never seen him so mad in my entire life.

"What? That's impossible. Carter, if you wanted me that bad you could have just said something. No need to make up a lie to get me away from Timmy," she says with a smile, walking over to Carter and me.

"Me, try to get you away from Timothy Andrews. Yeah ok. Keep dreaming" Carter says with a laugh.

"I know you still want me," she says putting her hand on Carter's chest. Before Carter could say anything, I cut in.

"He wants nothing to do with you," pulling her hand away from Carter's chest. "Clearly, you don't seem to understand that simple concept. So I'll say it nice and slow for you. Carter. Doesn't Want. You. So leave him the fuck alone." I snap

"And what, you think he wants you? Keep dreaming little girl. Soon enough he'll leave your sorry ass," she sneers

"Maybe, but at least she won't go around behind his back and fuck his best friend," Tara says

"How do you know about that," she replies

"Oh please, Carter told us all about what happened between you two," Tara says

"You know what, fine. Whatever. I don't have time to deal with all of this," Anastasia says turning to leave

"Yeah, of course not. You seem like the type to walk away from something if you're not getting your way," I say

"What did you just say to me," she says, turning on her heel to look at me

"Oh sorry, did I stutter?" I say "Here, I'll repeat it for you. I said you seem like the type to walk away from something when you're not getting your way," I repeat

"Look who's talking, the girl that ran away from her parents and her ex-boyfriend," she says

"At least I ran away for a good reason. My parents didn't want to accept the fact that I didn't want to go to college to become an engineer, so they decided to kick me out. And as for my ex-boyfriend, I ran because he was a lying, cheating abusive asshole. Unlike you, Carter left you because you were the cheater. And now you're just trying to come back into his life just to use him for his money. News flash honey, he's over you. And he's moved on. So go bring your bullshit and sob story to someone else that actually gives a fuck. Because I can assure you right now, that none of us here do. And as for Timmy over here, Carter wasn't lying. He and his father are going out of business because carter and I found out that he had been taking money from us just to keep his company afloat. So now do me a favor, and stay the fuck away from me and Carter." I say, fuming with rage against how annoying she is

"Is it true?" she asks Timothy

"Yes, it is," Timothy says defeated

"We're through," she says, slapping him in the face

"Fine by me, no one wants a money hungry whore anyhow" he spits

Frustrated, she turns on her heels but not before saying, "This isn't over" pointing at each of us.

"Oh honey, I think it is," Tara says

"Bye bye now," I say, waving her off. She turns back around and walks away. 

"bout damn time someone put her in her place," says Tara

I nod, agreeing with what she said. But once again, I had a feeling that she was going to be back. When? I have no idea. But I just had a feeling.

The rest of the night was pretty peaceful, with Lucifer showing off Tara and Carter showing me off to all of his business friends. And of course, Tara and I were joking around with each other whenever the guys weren't around.

The night ended on a good note though. Carter was pleased to have Anastasia out of his hair for a little bit. And Lucifer decided to take Tara home and stay over, so Carter decided to bring me to his place.

I change into one of Carter's t-shirts and climb into his bed, Carter following shortly after in just a pair of joggers.

"Night baby," he says

"Night babe," I say with a smile

"I love you," he says placing a quick kiss on my lips

"I love you too," I say returning his kiss
