《The boy down the river》Chapter 3

(Marco's POV)
After dinner Miss Travis told me to go back down to the river. She chuckled while I left.
I walked along the stone bridge. The sun was starting to set. I was tired. I didn't want to do MORE fishing! I hummed to myself while stepping onto the fresh, green grass.
I was not far from the reeds by now.
I found river-boy, playing in the river. He looked kinda cute.
I couldn't see that well because of all the reeds brushing against my face but I could see the sun setting and the last rays of sun hitting the water and making it go all kinds of shades of crimson, gold, magenta and black.
Reed was dancing in the water. His eyes were closed and the light of the sun shone behind him, making him look so... Magical.... Every inch of him looked perfect too me, my heart bubbled and fizzed.
Reed's face was like an angel's then suddenly Reed opened his eyes. I didn't realise I was blushing so much until then.
He ducked under the water. That's when I realised..... There wasn't any air bubbles coming up from the water after he dived in.
I was confused for a second. I looked around frantically trying to see his head come up from the water. I put my head under the river to find him. I couldn't see him.
There was a beach at the end of the river. Was it possible that he could swim that far, that quick, without getting air to breathe?!
I started to run, following the riverbed. I could see a faint silouette of a figure that looked exactly like Reed on the beach, standing up, glaring into the sunset.
I ran faster, the sun was almost gone by now. My bare feet hit the soft sand, there was still reeds on each side of the river. Reed's figure got clearer as I ran closer. I was almost right next to Reed.
Suddenly my foot hit a stone.
My world went into slow motion.
I was falling closer to the sandy ground.
My eyes shut.
I braced myself.

Just a Game
“A great corruption is spreading. The people cry out for a savior. For a hero. For YOU! Come join the fight, as the chosen of World Tree! Receive the blessings of the gods, battle fierce monsters, and become the hero you were meant to be, in Arcanum Online!” It was the cheesiest commercial Ethan had ever heard, but the gameplay was enough to draw him - and thousands of others - to the fantasy world of Lazuros. It’s the sort of place that can really draw you in - a huge open world, a deep character customization system, and a feature that makes time pass slower inside the game, extending your limited playtime! It was a little strange, though. As if it was a bit too realistic for a game of swords and sorcery. The NPC’s seemed almost alive, most quests didn’t reset and monsters respawned slowly. Still, for all it’s quirks, it was a good game! Just a game. And nothing more. …right?
