《Two Times, Same Story》Chapter 4

(Marco's POV)
I stepped out of the tent. I saw Mark scowling, while Luke had an calm and focused expression and finally Parker was in between the two looking rather uncomfortable. I glared back at Mark. He tutted and turned his head abruptly. "Uhm well we hope your okay....? I mean it would be impossibly inconvenient if you dropped down dead. We would have to either dump you here or angrily carry you and neither would be okay because goth-energy, 8ft-tall-hot-dude and suddenly-depressed would never leave us alone for evermore if we didn't respectfully bury you and if we carried you they would be crying and annoying." Luke stated, no expression in his tone. "Uhm. Thank you?" I uttered, confused. Mark huffed and then yelled, "YOU BETTER THANK US BECAUSE I WAS FRANTICALLY PANICKING IF MY MAP WAS OKAY!!"
Inside a tent was Yuni, studying a scroll about healing salves and plants. "Well someone's gotta learn it, and if you dumb-bells won't I will." She said, I glanced around quickly, the tent had strings of vines hanging down from a stick that was holding up the tent, jars with small growing weeds and flowers that I could have only assumed had all kind of healing properties. Scrolls upon scrolls with fancy lettering and lists of maladies, plants and pastes. A pestle and mortar was laying there. A few pots of what I imagined to be healing maladies, such as pastes and salves and there was a strong scent of burnt, lavender sprigs. The tent itself was a mint-green and very pretty. I managed to look at all of these fascinating objects before she dismissed me out of the tent.
I visited Inni's tent and saw her working on a bow handle. Chips of wood lay, scattered, across the floor. Feathers were strewn here and there. There were no books in this tent, but there was a single quill and a pot of jet-black ink. There was a small yet deadly-sharp knife in Inni's hand which she was using to carve symbols and runes some of which I recognised and others I didn't, the ones I could recognise where protection 'enchantments' which often didn't do anything except make the user become extremely attached to the object you carved it into. There wasn't a smell I could distinctly recognised but there was a calming presence in the air, whether the 'enchantments' on Inni's bow was the cause or because for once she was calm I didn't know. "Do you have any string?" She asked after a few seconds. I said no and left.

I walked into another tent greeted with a scowl from Mark who was looking at maps in his study luckily he was too engrossed in his work so he didn't see me. The room had scrolls and parchment everywhere and scattered ink pots seemed like they would never end. The room had a tense feeling to it, like I was in a horror movie yet there was no danger and I knew that something was bound to happen eventually. The tent was a rusty shade of red and smelled of particularly smelly ink, but that was probably because it contained particularly smelly ink. There was broken quills strewn across the floor and stacks more in the corner. I looked back at him to find him glaring at me. "What? Did you think I didn't have more? We planned this whole thing! I'm not dumb enough to only bring one map! I just didn't want your filthy hands all over one of my precious maps!" I stepped out of his tent before he threw something at me.
I slipped inside a tent again, finding Luke stroking Parker's hair. Before I could get a proper look around he looked up at me and muttered something then pointed at me to get out of the tent.
I found Parker's tent and stepped inside. There were a few books here and there but not much otherwise, he was probably not done unpacking since a box was in the middle of the room.
I stopped looking around and finally finished snooping. What should I do now?

I was a webnovel junkie for a long time, but I found it hard to find novels with solid characters, decent plot, philosophical underpinnings and a fully painted world to keep me going. I've taken from every genre I've liked to make a story that satisfies my own cravings for a good story. If you like the story or have suggestions please leave a comment or review. I hope this novel is fun, provocative but above all fun. Enjoy. Yours truly, James Paul Addington PS I will release at least two chapters a week, or one really long chapter. Concerning the tags: The story is primarily Fantasy with Wuxia influence in some elements. Romance won't happen for the first two arcs or so (roughly 40 chapters), I want to build the world before I do that. Tragedy is because of an event that occurs in the book, not the tone of the book. The book is more lighthearted. Slice of Life doesn't occur till the third arc (the romance happens during that arc as well). Magic will also show up more in later arcs, but appears throughout. Reincarnation it's not a reincarnation like in the traditional sense, but it has a similar concept.

Twoen
The struggle for an interesting game has been the story of my life for quite some time. Every game I find is either too easy, not interesting or too short. Luckily, my two brothers who match my level of skill, albeit in different areas, tend to spice things up. When I look at my older brother I have no idea how he gets anything done when he's such an idiot. Still it doesn't detract from my respect for him as a gamer, though maybe a little. When I look at my younger brother I marvel at the monster that my older brother and I created. Deadliness, craftiness and quiet, both in what he does and how he is. When it's just us three we tend to destory everything in our path. So normally we tend to compete rather than team. Although that isn't to say we're just good as individuals. When we work together our effectiveness multiplies rather than lowering. Well enough about us dorks. Anyway a new VR game came out, apparently in development for quite some time. Of course my older brother decided to drive out and buy three copies. What would this one be missing? Difficulty? Depth? Length? In any case I plan to reach the top before my brothers do. It was a competition after all. Twoen had all three things I normally yearn for in spades. Something I did not foresee. A keeper
