《Violet Eyes || Haikyuu!! Fanfiction ||》Chapter 11: Flirtings and Jealousy?

We won the game against Aoba Johsai and everyone is really happy. Minus Tsukishima-kun, whose expression is always blank, but I guess that's how he looks. We're nearly in a pinch when their official setter, Oikawa Tooru, arrived and targeted Tsukishima-kun with his serve. I hate to admit it but Oikawa-san's ball control and game sense is impressive, like Kageyama-kun's. That said, Kageyama-kun said that Oikawa-san's his senpai in his junior years.
However, Kageyama-kun didn't inherit his flirting attitude from his senpai.
"Takeda-sensei complimented us, but frankly, if we were facing Seijoh and Oikawa in an all out match, we'd be lacking" Daichi said.
"Yeah, honestly, the receiving could use more work" I added "And also communication is important and we lack them"
"Oh~? Spoken like a true captain...and coach" a figure said. We stopped and we saw Seijoh's captain, leaning against the wall casually, like he's expecting us. He turned to look at us with a laid-back attitude "You know your stuff"
"Th-the Great King makes his entrance!" Shoyo-kun gasped, making a defensive position in karate. Ever since he knows that Oikawa-san is Kageyama-kun's senpai, Shoyo-kun started calling him "Great King". What's the point in calling him a Great King anyway?
My eyebrows twitched in annoyance after we saw him. He still hasn't apologized after he nearly hit sensei and I with his jump serve which Tsukishima-kun failed to receive.
"Oi, it's that pretty boy earlier. You gotta problem, dude?" Tanaka-san said, upon seeing Oikawa-san. Earlier, he was feeling pissed/ jealous when Oikawa-san was being cheered by a bunch of girls. Now, seeing Oikawa-san made him want to beat him badly.
"Do you wanna fight?" Shoyo-kun asked, preparing his defensive stance.
"He still hasn't apologized to Mizuki-san and Tsukki" Tadashi-kun muttered.
"He pisses me off" Tsukishima-kun said. I nodded "Same"
"Don't be so hostile" he said, waving it off "You, shrimp, your last one touch and broad attack was amazing" he said, looking at our tiny middle blocker who was obviously flattered.
"That was a great game earlier, isn't that right, Cutie-chan?" he said, facing me.
"CUTIE-CHAN?!" the players thought, staring at him incredulously.
I looked down and stared at my feet, feeling uncomfortable. I slowly took a step back and I stood next to Tadashi-kun "I watched the match from the second set and I couldn't help but be impressed by your improvised strategy. Great job" he said, facing me.

"T-thank you!" I replied. The compliment is nice but he still hasn't apologized to us.
"But..." Oikawa-san said, dropping his cheerful voice and replaced it with a dangerous one "Let's give it all we got the next time, right from the start" I know he's not joking about this one. He will not go easy on us if we meet in an official match.
"You didn't get to see our set-up. Oh, yes, and we'll be improving our serves, too. It's true your offense was amazing but your receives are slow and you'll reach your limit very quickly. Actually, I'm not the only one who hits powerful serves. The Inter-High preliminaries are coming up soon, so don't get eliminated, okay? Because I want to pulverize my dear underclassmen, setter-on-setter, in an official match" he said, pointing a finger to Kageyama-kun. This guy...I want to crush him if I were a player...
"It's that why you are here? If you were actually threatening us, sorry but that ain't gonna work on us" Tanaka-san told him, giving him the evil eye.
"Tanaka-san, he's not joking about this one" I muttered under my breath.
"Oh, that's not the only reason why I'm here" he said, looking at my direction. He walked towards me and he stood there, facing me. I looked up at him and he was smiling lightly "What's your name, Cutie-chan?" he asked, while cupping my face. What the heck is he doing?! Why is he cupping my face?!
"She's so cute..." Oikawa thought "She's not only cute but she's very clever and strategic in volleyball..." Luckily, his childhood friend is off somewhere so he can't ruin the moment. Her expression is blank but she looked a little confused.
"What the hell?! Quit touching our kohai's face, pretty boy!" Tanaka growled, ready to beat the crap outta him but Ennoshita held him back. Daichi was giving off an extremely dark aura because Seijoh's setter is flirting to his "little sister".
As for Yamaguchi, he couldn't understand why his chest felt as if it was stabbed by a dagger just by watching Oikawa flirt to Ayame. He was unconsciously clenching and unclenching his hand until it became sore. He was pretty sure that he was feeling fine until this happened. It couldn't be sickness, right? What could he possibly be feeling? Is he...what's the word...jealous? He shook his head to clear his thoughts. It's too early to jump to conclusion.

"So, can you tell me your name, Cutie-chan? Aren't you Karasuno's volleyball coach?" Oikawa asked, stroking her cheeks with his thumb "Damn...can I take her home? She's so cute...Nah, Iwa-chan will kill me if I take some cute girl home..."
Ayame snapped to reality "Yes! Mizuki Ayame, first year, Class 4, coach of Karasuno's Volleyball Team!" she rapidly answered. She realized what she just did and covered her mouth, her cheeks flushing red in embarrassment. "I can't believe I just did that..."
Oikawa smiled and released her "We'll see each other soon, Cutie-chan...in the Inter High Prelims" he said and lightly poked her forehead, adding fuel to Tanaka and Daichi's anger "And also Tobio-chan and Karasuno, when we meet in a match, we'll win this time"
"We'll see" Ayame said, smirking at him.
"Feisty" Oikawa thought, smirking back at her "See ya, Ayame-chan"
"I can't believe you just told him about yourself" Tsukishima told her after he left. Ayame went red again and covered her face.
"Don't remind me...I just...I don't know what made me do that...my...my weakness...he discovered my weakness..." she mumbled, trying to hold back her tears of embarrassment. "That was embarrassing...why did I give in? Why did he have to mention volleyball coach?"
"Ah...Tsukki, I think you should stop reminding her about earlier" Yamaguchi told his friend. Ayame gave him a grateful smile that made his heart thump loudly.
"I swear, if I see his face again, he'll receive more than just my punch" Tanaka said.
"How about a kick in the ass?" Ayame muttered, barely audible for Tsukishima and Yamaguchi to hear, which made the two snicker at her foul language.
*Aoba Johsai*
"Kageyama has become more amazing" Iwaizume noted.
"Yeah. That genius was spinning his wheels but finally found his best destination. It seems that Tobio finally found a spiker that could match his tosses" Oikawa said, spinning the ball on his finger "That cutie coach of Karasuno was really something. Imagine, she calmed down that nervous shrimpy middle blocker and changed their rotation on the second set. You noticed that, right, Iwa-chan?"
"Yeah, which reminds me..." the ace walked away and spiked a ball to the setter's head, much to his surprise "You forgot to apologize to her, idiot!"
"E-eh?! What did I do?!" he asked, rubbing his head.
"Dumbass! You forgot it, didn't you?!" Iwaizume said, preparing the ball to hit him again and the setter quickly covered his head "During your second serve, Karasuno's megane failed to receive it and nearly hit their teacher and the girl. If it weren't for her quick reactions, you could've hit her and they'd sue us!"
(flashback)
"I knew it. I only watched some part of the match but...you, #6 and you, #5. You guys are not good receivers aren't you? You must be first years" Oikawa said "Next one..."
He did another jump served and aimed it again to Tsukishima, who failed to receive it again and bounced off court, to Ayame and Mr. Takeda's direction. She saw the ball coming to them and pushed the teacher farther and she moved away from him. The ball passed between them, only a few inches away from her face, and it hit the wall behind them. Karasuno's players were shocked and their teacher quickly adjusted his glasses shakily.
"M-Mizuki-san, a-are you all right?!" Yamaguchi worriedly asked her, his face nearly pale from shock and worry "T-the b-ball didn't hit you guys, right?!"
"That was scary..." Mr. Takeda said.
"Y-yes...sensei and I were fine. The ball didn't hit us, luckily" she answered.
"Thank goodness..." they sighed in relief.
(End)
"Seriously?!" Oikawa yelled, messing his hair in frustration "I nearly hit Cutie-chan with my serve?! Why didn't somebody tell me earlier?! Damn it!"
"'Cause you're too busy trash-talking their players that you didn't notice, idiot!" he hit him again in the head.
"Iwa-chan, stop hitting me! It hurts!"
"You deserve it, dumbass!!"
"Oi, coach will be mad at us!" another third year scolded them.

Ravyn's Nights
Claire's life led her to love. Love led her to death. Death began her eternal struggle to retain both her love and her humanity through five centuries of endless nights. Book 1 covers 1583-1690. "Ravyn's Nights" is a six book series, with each book covering a different century. Book 6 was actually started first, and it takes place in the near future, bringing the story to a final conclusion. I then started writing the rest of the series when I decided that I wanted to share the details of the life that made her into who she is in Book 6. At the time of posting the first chapter of the series, books 1-2-3 are completed and books four, five and six are in various states of completion. There is currently a novella following a side character that does include a few crossover chapters featuring the main character. The novella will be included in the completed versions of books 4 and 5.

Epoch: An NPC's Tale
Epoch is a slow-burn LitRPG/Gamelit novel that tells the story of Luke, later named Lucius—a natural inhabitant of the game-like realm of Elyssia where thousands upon thousands of detached, virtually unkillable entities known as the Players were suddenly introduced right after the dusk of the magnificent Age of Heroes. Shortly after the Players arrived, the balance of power in Elyssia instantly shifted. Kingdoms fell, wars were waged, alliances between races were made, and Lucius, after ten years of training in captivity, found himself being used as a pawn in a prophecy that he had no intention to fulfill. With aspirations and desires of his own, Lucius must find a way to cautiously adapt to the drastic changes in the very foundations of the realm after being sent 300 years into a future that was forever altered by the outcome of the war that his captors had lost and the Players won in a victory that resounded throughout the ages, all for a terrible price. Author's Note As an avid fan of the LitRPG genre myself, I wrote this novel with character progression, heavy Gamelit elements, and some degree of world-building in mind. If you like these, please feel free to give this novel a try. Oh, and the MC is also an NPC, in a sense. And wait, isn't this also an isekai story? Well, it's all a bit complicated to explain here. Maybe you should start reading now?
