《Violet Eyes || Haikyuu!! Fanfiction ||》Chapter 57: Someone's jealous...

It was the middle of the night when the Karasuno Volleyball Boys Club gathered in front of their school to travel back to Tokyo for another away games and this time, it will be one whole week they will stay there.
"We'll be arriving to our destination early in the morning once again" Mr. Takeda announced "Ukai-kun and I will take turns in driving"
Coach Ukai yawned and apologized in advance "Sorry if I nod off"
"Thank you very much!!" Daichi bowed and the others followed suit. The teacher panicked when they bowed a bit noisily.
"It's the middle of the night, so not so loud" he told them.
"Oh, sorry... Habit" the captain apologized.
"Please make sure you double-check everything. We'll be leaving soon"
The others double checked their things while some were already placing theirs inside the bus. Ayame, on the other hand, made sure she brought everything, even the stun gun her mother forced her to bring.
"As much as I hated bringing this, it's a waste of money if I just threw it away" she sighed internally and zipped her bag "Yosh! All done!"
As she carried her bag, she saw a pair of knee pads next to the busy Kageyama. She walked to him and picked it up.
"Kageyama-kun, here. You dropped it" she gave it to him and he nodded.
"Thanks. I thought I lost it"
While he's busy with his bag, her face turned a little worried as she noticed the things between the oddball duo.
"It's been days that these two haven't talk to each other for a while. I hope they'll be okay..." she bit her lower lip and looked at Hinata and back to Kageyama.
"Worried?" Sugawara stood next to her. She was slightly surprised at first but she nodded in agreement.
"I wonder if they'll be able to make up after this training camp" he said.
"Let's just believe in them, Suga-san"
Coach Ukai gave his call "All right. We're heading out. Hurry up on the bus"
The club members quickly boarded on the bus. Even though she told herself countless times to never fall asleep while traveling, she was soon snoring softly as soon as she took a seat.
"Uh...Tsukki, can you move your bag?" Yamaguchi asked the tall blonde, who is currently sitting at the seat, one row behind Ayame. He had purposely placed his bag on the seat next to him for...ah...reasons.
"No can do" he replied "Why don't you take a seat next to Ayame? It's empty, anyway"
"But she's already sleeping. I might disturb her" he said.
"You won't. Just take a seat already. We're almost leaving" he slipped his earphones "And don't you dare move my bag"
His tone was dead serious and Yamaguchi felt the goosebumps on his skin rising. He sighed and sat next to the sleeping girl.
"All right, we'll be leaving now. We'll arrive to Tokyo in the morning so please take your time and rest" Mr. Takeda said. He sat at the driver's seat and started the engine. A few moments later, they're off to Tokyo.

"Hmm..." Ayame slowly opened her eyes as the bright sunlight shone on her face. She covered her mouth as she yawned as she scanned her surroundings. The bus is still moving and she saw the freckled teen asleep next to her. She craned her neck to look at the others and saw some of the members asleep while some are awake. She slumped back to her seat and looked outside.
"I hope...I won't be seeing them..." she prayed as she remembered her terrible past in her old school.
She looked at Yamaguchi as his green hair partially covers his face. His head was drooping as he snored softly next to her. The longer she stared at him, the more she wanted to touch his hair again. But, she remembered the first time she did that and it caused some...misunderstanding that made things awkward for the two of them.
"I really want to touch his hair again..." she thought "But he might be angry...no, Tadashi-kun's not that kind of person. Besides, he wasn't angry when I touched it before..."
Her curiosity slowly overcame her and she slowly lifted her hand and run it on the tips of his hair. She looked up and saw the flyaway pieces of green hair sticking up on his head. Her hand hovered above his head and she started stroking it.
"That's strange..." she thought while stroking his hair "I feel like I've done this before...Ugh...I don't remember when..."
She could feel her heartbeat pounding loudly in her chest as she continued her actions.
"Ne, why is it that being with you is making my heart beat faster? Why do I feel like I could trust you with my past?"
She tried to pat down the hair sticking up on his head but to no avail. She smiled as she kept stroking her hair when she heard an amused voice behind her.
"Oya oya?"
She looked up and saw the megane smirking at them. Her face burned in embarrassment and she pulled back her hand.
"Oh, you're awake, Tsukishima-kun" she said "That's unusual"
"I can sleep and wake up anytime I want to" he replied "And besides, we're nearing to our destination"
"Really?!" she looked outside and saw Shinzen High's building on the view "How come I didn't notice it at all?"
He smirked "Because you were busy touching Yamaguchi's hair. Distracted much, aren't we?"
"I-Is it a bad thing?"
"Depends" he shrugged "Anyway, I think it's time for you to wake him up"
She nodded and she gently poked Yamaguchi's arm "Tadashi-kun? Please wake up"
No response.
"Idiot, how can you wake him up like that?" Tsukishima said "Wake him up like you mean it"
"Like what? I don't want to hurt him. It doesn't seem right"
He sighed loudly "You can't wake a person without hurting him, Ayame"
She ignored him and poked on his cheek "Wake up, Tadashi-kun. We're here"
His eyebrows furrowed slightly as the freckled teen felt something on his cheek. His eyelids slowly opened and he saw the tiny girl next to him, smiling.

"Good morning, Tadashi-kun"
"Uh...good morning, Ayame" he replied "Are we nearing to Shinzen?"
"Yep, I woke you up just in time"
They parked the bus in the parking lot in front of the school. As they were stepping off the bus, Mr. Takeda reminded them not to forget their belongings in the bus. Ayame stepped outside and breathed deeply.
"Ah~...the air feels nice..." she sighed.
Kenma saw her and made a small smile "Hey, Ayame"
She turned to his attention and smiled "Kenma-san! How are you guys?"
"We're doing fine. You know, the usual" he shrugged.
"Hey, hey!" Hinata approached them in his usual energetic self "Where's the Skytree?"
"Eh? Skytree?" he blinked in surprise.
"You really wanted to see it, huh, Shoyo-kun" she giggled.
The orange haired teen pointed at a transmission tower "Ah! Is that that the Tokyo Tower?!"
"Huh? That's...just a normal transmission tower..." Kenma explained and the violet eyed girl giggled in amusement.
"What the hell?" Kuroo smirked "Are there no transmission towers in Miyagi? Pretty sure I'm feeling a déjà vu right now"
"The transmission towers in Tokyo all look like the Tokyo Tower to us country folk!" Daichi answered defensively.
"Hey, that's a rash thing to say" Sugawara said "Also, we're in Saitama"
Ayame went back to their managers "Ano...is there anything I can do to help?"
"Oh, Ayame-chan. Sure, you can carry this" Shimize gave her a bag "These are the towels for the players. Hitoka-chan and I can carry the water bottles. Thank you for the help"
"Sure!" she carried the bag "I'll be going first, Hitoka-chan, Shimizu-san"
"Okay"
Yamaguchi walked with her "Need any help?"
She shook her head "It's okay. I can carry my things just fine"
"Hinata!!!" the half Russian ran to the orange haired boy as he called him loudly. Kenma stared at him with a blank face, but he looked slightly annoyed by his loudness.
"Lev, shut up"
"That's the half Russian, right? Nekoma's new member?" Yamaguchi asked.
"Yes" she nodded "Haiba Lev. He's also a first year"
"Eh...He's freaking tall" he noted "And pretty...loud"
She chuckled "Yeah, I agree"
Lev saw Ayame after talking to Hinata and he beamed. He approached her with a big smile on his face "Ayame-san!"
It's so obvious, really. The half Russian has a huge crush on the violet eyed girl and everyone could see that. Except her, as usual.
"Listen, Ayame-san, I grew two millimeters in two weeks!! Isn't that great?" he exclaimed happily.
"I know. I heard you say that to Shoyo-kun. Keep it up, Lev-kun" she said, patting his arm.
The freckled teen next to her suddenly felt a sense of irritation inside him when he saw the grin on the half Russian's face after she encouraged him. For some reason, he wanted the teen to stop talking to her and wipe the grin off his face. He unknowingly tightened the grip on the strap of his bag and he jammed his hands on his pockets.
"I don't know if I'm irritated by his loud personality or if it's because I'm jealous..." he thought. Yep, he's no longer denying that.
"I'm going first" Yamaguchi mumbled and walked away. Ayame noticed the difference in his behavior and excused herself.
"I'm sorry if we have to cut our talk here, Lev-kun. We'll see each other in the gym. Later" she walked off and followed him "Wait, Tadashi-kun!"
She bent over and caught her breath after catching up to him "Ne, what's wrong?"
"Nothing's wrong..." he replied, not meeting her eyes. She wondered why he won't talk to her and she felt really bad. His voice was low and he didn't face her. He continued walking and she followed behind him, still wondering what the problem is.
"Ah, he's jealous" Sugawara sighed as he saw the two first years.
"Yep" Tsukishima agreed.
"Definitely" Yaku nodded and crossed his arms "It's all Lev's fault"
Lev was shocked "Eh?! Why is it my fault?!"

Ayame stretched out her arms inside the gymnasium as the players started warming up.
"Shinzen really is a great place for a summer training camp. It's so cool here" she breathed deeply as her gaze went to the freckled teen. She's definitely worried and curious why the teen won't talk to her or even look at her in the eyes after earlier.
"All right, we're gonna switch out members constantly this time around, so be prepared" Coach Ukai told them.
"RIGHT!!"
"Anything else, Ayame?" the man looked at her for inquiry.
"Eh? Ah..." she cleared her throat "Let's try to end this with no penalties, okay? I heard that it will be a "refreshing sprint up the grassy hill" this time"
They stared at the blazing sun outside "There's nothing refreshing about that..."
The first set started with Karasuno versus Fukurodani. She sat next to their coach and teacher as she watched Nishinoya receive the serve perfectly and Kageyama went to his position.
"Now, what are you going to do, Kageyama-kun?"
Hinata made a run up for a spike and the setter tossed it to him. She could tell that the opposing team were wary of their weirdo quick and were preparing their blockers but...
"He didn't hit it..." she deadpanned when the ball dropped between Kageyama and Hinata "He dropped it too short..."
"It is expected. It's not easy to perform that kind of toss when it is an actual game" Coach Ukai sighed "But, I think Hinata finally realized that"
"Yes, both sides seemed to realize it as well" she nodded "I wonder what will happen if we managed to hone all of our new weapons... I'm excited to see them~"
Both coach and teacher backed away when they saw her dark aura and sinister smile.
