《The Secretary》Justice Jay

The little girl took a seat in the back corner, away from Danneel and Jensen. Danneel stayed standing, not even bothering to look at you.
"Jensen, we need to talk." Danneel said. She looked at the little girl, who was staring at the floor, fiddling with her fingers.
"Jensen, this is your daughter, Justice Jay." Danneel said. "Jj, come here." Danneel said, holding out her hand to the girl.
Jj stood up, her hair hiding her face. She slowly walked to Danneel, grabbed her hand and hiding behind her mother.
"I have a daughter?" Jensen asked, I could tell he was skeptical.
"Yes, you do. I brought a DNA test to prove it if you don't believe me." Danneel said, reaching into her purse and pulling out a DNA test.
Danneel took out some scissors and cut one single strand of hair off of Jj's head, and stuck it into the test, then handed the scissors to Jensen.
He cut his hair and stuck it into the test. We waited for a few minutes with a very awkward silence filling the air. The test beeped.
Positive.
Jensen has a daughter, and her name is Justice Jay.
"Y/n, can you and Justice excuse us please?" Jensen asked quietly, business like almost.
"Yes sir." I said, looking at Jj. She looked at me, reaching for my hand. I grabbed her little hand, and lead her to my office, pulling up a chair for her behind my desk.
She was quiet, and sat in the chair almost silently. I turned to my computer.
"Do you like to play video games?" I asked her.
She nodded her head.
"What kind of games?" I asked.
"Um, my mom said not to talk to strangers." She said quietly.

"Oh, well then. I'm y/n l/n. Who are you?" I said.
"My name is Justice Jay. But my mom calls me Jj for short." She said.
"Nice to meet you Justice." I said.
"You can call me Jj. You seem like a nice person." She said.
"Thank you. I'm sure your very nice." I said, giving her a warm smile.
"I guess were not strangers anymore." She said.
"Nope." I said, popping the p.
"I really like to paint." She said.
"Me too. I have a game in my phone that you could play on and color things. Do you wanna do that?" I asked her.
"Sure." She said. I pulled out my phone and opened the app, handing it to her.
She became intrigued in the game, and started coloring a flower.
I turned back to my computer and started going through the emails and listening to voicemails from the phone on the desk top.
"Y/n?" Jj's voice said.
"Yeah?" I replied.
"Do you have any animals? Like a pet?" She asked me.
"Yeah I do. I have two dogs, and a red macaw." I said.
Her eyes grew wide. "Can I see?" She asked.
"Sure." I said, grabbing my phone from her hands to pull up the pictures of my dogs.
(Shep^)
(Andrea^)
"These are my dogs, Shep, and Andrea." I said, showing her the pictures.
"What about your macaw?" She asked.
I smiled, knowing she had no idea about the bird behind her.
"Would you like to hold him?" I asked her.
"Yeah, but I don't think my mom wants me to leave." She said.
"Don't worry, we won't be leaving." I said, getting up and walking to the cage in my office. Jj followed close at my heels.

I removed the sheet off the cage to reveal a beautiful, big, red, blue, and yellow bird.
"This is Joker." I said, opening the cage and letting Joker fly onto my shoulder.
Jj's eyes were wide, and filled with excitement.
"Do you want to hold him?" I asked her.
She nodded her head quickly. I held my arm in front of Joker's talons, and let him walk onto my arm, and gently set him on Jj's shoulder.
"You can pet him, he won't bite. He is a very good boy." I said to her.
She lifted her hand up, letting her fingers graze over his soft feathers. She giggled when he spoke.
"Can Joker have a cracker?" He asked. Jj looked at me. I grabbed a cracker and gave it to her, letting her feed it to the bird.
Joker took bites of the cracker, careful of Jj's little fingers. Jj giggled and the smile on her face never left, that is until Jensen's door opened.
"Whatever Jensen. I just can't deal with her anymore, I need you to take her so I don't have to see her. If you don't then she is going to an orphanage. I don't care. I can't with her, I have to much to do already. I already have enough with my business, and she just gets in the way." Danneel said as she stood in Jensen's doorway.
"Mom?" Jj whispered, her little voice breaking at her mother's words.
Danneel turned and looked at her daughter in disgust. "What the hell is that thing on your shoulder? Get it off."
"His name is Joker, and he is a red macaw. And no, I'm not taking him off, he's my friend." Jj said, crossing her arms.
"Whatever. You live with your father now anyways." She said, pulling a few bucks out of her purse and throwing it on my desk.
"There's your payment for not doing your job you pest." Danneel said, and stormed out the door.
Jj started to cry. She doesn't realize what just happened. I realized.
I got down on my knees, and pulled her into a tight hug, Joker moving on top of her head, using his wings to try and wipe away her tears.
Jensen came out of his office, looking tired and exhausted. He rubbed his hand down the side of his face, and then curled it around the back of his neck.
A few tears slipped down his face as his eyes met mine, and we both knew what each other was thinking.
Danneel just abandoned her daughter.

Fire and Shadows. Legend of the breaker. (Hiatus until ??)
Traditions lost, books burned, ancient knowledge forever spurned. It began with fire, the great Sirionean, all dominating desert creating pyre. And it ended thusly just aswell, t'was the great Empire's deathknell. The crackling of the burning books, dangling corpses on rusty hooks. The yellow streets of Heabury proper, colored red with human copper. -? S.V, Scholar of Dawn.' -- Author note: Hi, SeV here. I'm not a fan of writing my entire story premise in the synopsis. For that, read the prologue and chapter 1. Suffice it to say that I think it's a cool idea and I already have a few things planned and a world sort of formed in my mind. I like Epic fantasy, lightnovels with OP MCs, Litrpg, sci-fi, any many other things. This story is written for myself, so it may include all sorts of diffent elements and character interactions and even experimental things that I'm trying out as a writer in order to improve. My intention with this is to pretty much post as I write, and acquire feedback from you folks in the process. I of course hope you like my story, but feel free to criticize anything since this is a project to improve myself. Even if it isn't strictly criticism, any feedback positive or negative is welcome since I am interested in what other people think of my writing style and what I can improve on. Since it's growing generically I'll be interested in your thoughts and speculations on future events and any suggestions moving forward will be taken into consideration. Hope you enjoy my stuff. - SeV
