《Their Human》Chapter thirty four: love

I looked at Sharlene and her friend with the most casual look ever, even though I was secretly both irritated and excited to see them. I missed having humans to speak to and relate to.
"Hey Kaiser," The woman greeted, giving him a once over. "Looking good, as always." She complimented.
"Melissa, I see you're still alive." Kaiser answered, also giving her a hard stare. "That could only mean that the men are still very pleased with your service."
She laughed loudly, as if he said something hilarious. Some female creatures turned to glare at her hatefully, but she did not seem fazed at all.
"You know, you're the only one missing out. Everyone else loves me." She said while sitting down next to him, across me.
"Hard pass, you know I'm all for solid relationships. Not one night stands." Kaiser mumbled, sipping on his red beverage.
Wait... Is she what I think she is?
"That's too bad. I would have loved to hear you moan my name." She said with a sigh as if that was the most normal thing ever.
Yeah, she definitely sleeps with these guys.
"Don't you worry, I'm sure another guy can do that for you." Kaiser said, pushing his unfinished food away from him. He looked repulsed but Melissa didn't even notice.
"So where is Silas? He hasn't called me to his room for a while now. Ever since he came back from that city a couple of days ago." She asked, making me look at her in surprise.
Silas is one of them?
"Silas is really busy. He has no time for you."
"Are you joking? He always had time for me. Something has definitely changed." Melissa said, trying to piece the puzzle together. Kaiser stared at me with a lazy grin.
"His free time goes to her now." Kaiser said, nodding towards me. That was when she finally noticed that I had been sitting there the whole time. She looked skeptical, as if the thought of Silas with anyone else was something she could not even begin to process.
"He has a new slut?"
Nevermind, she's not gorgeous. She's an ugly piece of used condom.

"I wouldn't use that word with her. She is much more important than you think." Kaiser said, standing up. "Not that we owe you any explanation but she is his and Sei's girlfriend. So they are off limits."
Melissa was still flabbergasted when Kaiser pulled me up with him and walked out of the room with me. I briefly smiled at Sharlene as we passed her, but she just rolled her eyes at me.
Scratch them being potential best friends, they're potential nightmares waiting to happen.

"Wow, that was... Something." I whispered as we walked into the twins' bedroom. Kaiser switched on the lights behind me. It was getting dark outside. I pulled the curtains closed and sat down on the bed, watching the demon stand in front of me.
"You'll get used to them." He mumbled, looking at the floor.
I never want to get used to that.
"So... Silas had sex with her." I said it more than I asked, already knowing the answer. I just wanted to confirm but and deep down I was hoping Kaiser would say that he didn't.
He stared at me with a blank look, telling me all that I needed to know.
"Many times?" I asked softly. Kaiser pursed his lips, looking awkward.
Oh.
So that's a yes then.
"Is that even allowed?" I asked, completely forgetting about the fact that I've slept with someone else as well.
Cough-Damien-cough
"I mean, I don't really have a mate so I would not know. It think it's okay until you actually meet your mate. After that it's cheating."
"Cool..." I said with a slow nod. Maybe I should ask about Sei too.
The door opened, breaking our silence. We both looked up, seeing Sei standing at the door with a box in his arms. He looked between us and walked inside, kicking the door closed behind him. "Thank you, Kai." He said, making Kaiser smile widely.
"Of course, you know I got you." He walked to the door, not before waving goodbye at me. "See you around, Akielia."
"If you want to, sure." I told him with a grin.
"Definitely, you're pretty cool." He said, shutting the door behind him. Sei smiled at our interaction and sat down next to me, handing me the box.

I looked up at him in surprise. "This is for me?" I asked him softly. He nodded slowly, looking away shyly. I bit the inside of my cheek, trying to hide my blush. My hands found their way around the lid of the black box and I carefully pulled it open, my heart melting at the sight.
"Sei know that you miss home... So Sei got you human things." He said softly, scratching his neck.
The box was full of multiple things, from books and colourful pens to a cute painting set that came with an easel. There was also a bunch of fidget toys. Everything was so colourful and cute. I was certain that half of these items belonged to children but the fact that he thought of cheering me up made me want to give him a hard kiss.
I put the box aside and held his hand, kissing him deeply. He leaned down, tilting his head as he shoved his tongue into my mouth. I smiled into the kiss, making him also smile. Pulling away slowly, he kissed the corner of my lips and grinned.
"Do you like?" He asked me, still smiling brightly. His cheeks were flushed, turned into a red hue. He was always so absolutely adorable.
"I love it. Thank you so much." I said to him, wrapping my arms around his waist. He held me close and we fell on the bed, tangling our legs together. I laid my head on his chest, listening to his unnaturally fast heartbeat. It was loud, much louder than how a human would sound. Everything about this man was amazing and unique. It made me fall in love with him more.
In love... Was I falling in love with him? With both of them?
Technically I've always been since I'm their soulmate.
I closed my eyes, feeling safe in his arms. Though that did not stop the millions of thoughts that were rushing through my head at fifty miles an hour. As usual, I had many questions about my place here... in their lives. Would something really work between us without having to keep me hidden from everyone else?
"Sei, what's going to happen when everyone finds out about me?" I asked him.
Sei's heart suddenly went silent, like it stopped beating. I thought he was dead. I looked up at him and he had his eyes closed, but his face showed one of distress. He was obviously thinking of something to say to me.
"Please be honest. Will they kill me?" I asked again. His grip around my body tightened as he pulled me closer to him.
"They will die first." He simply answered.
That's impossible. There's too many of them.
"Baby, please tell me the truth." I said, burying my face at the crook of his neck. His heart was beating super slowly, as if it was barely functioning. How did that even work?
"I will, just don't call Sei that. It hard to not do anything to you already." He groaned, shuffling around to find a comfortable position.
"They will try to kill you if we do not do it. No matter what." He said to me. I knew that it was going to be like that, but hearing it come straight from Sei felt like a bucket of cold water was poured on me.
"Is there no other solution?" I asked him. Sei shook his head, to my dismay, making me finally see what the reality of this situation was. One of them needed to be king, whether it be him, Silas or somehow both. Their queen must be someone strong like they are, worthy to lead these creatures. I am not strong. I am not worthy. I am merely human. A weak being they see as slaves and pets, a sex toy. I can not be respected by them.
They can't leave everything to be with me back at home either.
"So our relationship will never work out, no matter how hard we try?" I ask him, tears slightly welling up in my eyes. Sei did not answer, he only stroked my hair in attempt to comfort me.
"I love you." He whispered, kissing my forehead.
I love you too, Sei.
But love may not be enough this time
