《I Died and Got Summoned to Another World as a WHAT?!?!》Ep. 660 Through the Gate Part 20

After a little searching around I manage to find the ship's anchor and release it. That should keep the elves safe, as long as the orcs don't swim out to the ship. I explain to the elves that they need to keep an eye out and that I will come back once the fighting is done.
Since I don't feel like swimming and I can't see any humans watching, I fly back to the docks. As soon as I land I put my wings away and start walking back towards the fort. Just because I plan to let the orcs wipe out the humans doesn't mean I will sit around and watch.
If thousands of orcs survive, I might have trouble slaying them all by myself. While I use the orcs to wipe out the humans, I also plan to use the humans to thin the orc's numbers. I plan to let the outer wall fall, then help the humans hold the fort until the orcs are weakened.
When I reach the fort I once again climb the wall and take a spot near the tower so I can listen in. At this point I don't need to use the spyglass to see the orcs, they are already attacking the outer wall. From what I can see there are around twelve thousand orcs in total.
Commander says "What is going on? Why aren't the siege engines firing?!"
Lieutenant says "Sir! When the soldiers tried to load the engines most of them malfunctioned!"
Commander says "What?! How long until they are repaired?"
Lieutenant says "At least five minutes, maybe ten!"
Commander says "That's too long! The wall won't hold! Take the reserves and lead them to the wall now!"
Lieutenant says "Yes, sir!"
After that I watch as more troops leave the fort and rush to the outer wall. The fighting has started already, without the siege engines the orcs didn't even slow down. The defenders are doing what they can but it is already obvious they are going to lose.

In a normal fight they could maybe hold on, but the orcs will not stop for anything. They don't know fear so they won't pull back to regroup, they will just fight until they win or die. It only takes about three minutes before the first breach of the wall happens.
After that it is like a domino effect and within another five minutes the wall falls. The human reinforcements arrived just in time to be wiped out by the advancing orcs. None of the siege engines got fixed in time to fire before being overrun.
Now the orcs are heading for the fort and the morale of the soldiers here is at rock bottom. About three fifths of the human's soldiers were on the outer wall and are now dead. From what I can see the orcs have only lost about two or three thousand so far.
If this keeps up then the humans will be wiped out and there will still be seven thousand or so orcs left. That is a rather high number for me to deal with alone, but it might be doable. However, the battle isn't over yet, I may still be able to thin their numbers a bit more.
The best bet would be to somehow raise the troop's morale, but I don't know how to. The only thing I can think of, based off of movies, would be a rousing speech, but that's not a skill I possess. Besides, I am not their commander, the soldiers have no reason to listen to me.
So the only thing I can do is to kill a lot of orcs, but defending a wall is not really my style. When I am fighting I move around a lot, and a two-handed sword is not meant for small areas. If I fight on top of the wall there is a good chance I will end up killing humans as well as orcs.

After looking around and thinking about it for a few seconds I decide my best bet is to fight in the open. Seeing as the orcs are almost here, once I make up my mind I just move. I jump off the wall, drawing my sword as I do, and easily land on my feet.
Behind me, the soldiers that notice my action let out sounds of shock and surprise. Meanwhile, the orcs that see me come running over, eager for more bloodshed. Unfortunately for them, the only blood being shed is theirs, as I cut them down easily.
Seeing this, the soldiers on the wall behind me start cheering, maybe I can raise their morale after all. They keep cheering as I kill the next wave of orcs, the more I kill the louder they get. It looks like I might just be able to accomplish two goals at once, just by swinging my sword.
Forgetting about all that, I lose myself in the fight and the enjoyment of it. I am aware of orcs passing me by to attack the fort, but it doesn't matter at this point. The only orcs that matter are the ones that come within reach of my sword.
Even though the orcs just keep coming at me, it isn't fast enough, so I start moving towards them. The soldiers have stopped cheering, now they have their own fights to worry about. As I am fighting, with no one else to worry about, everything else fades away.

It comes as a shock when I run out of orcs to kill, waking me from my battle trance. When I look around I realize that I haven't run out of orcs, I just cut my way through them. I am now behind the orcs and when I turn around I can see them assaulting the fort.
1,183 Orcs defeated! 1,183,000 Exp gained!
It would seem that I killed a lot more orcs than I expected to, but it is not over yet. The orcs are assaulting the walls but so far they haven't been able to get a foothold. There are still plenty of orcs left, but the humans are putting up quite the fight.
They are fighting for their own survival, so I am not too surprised by them holding on. With the current situation all it will take is one mistake and the orcs will be able to take the walls. For now the orcs are just wasting their lives so I don't plan to interfere.
Even though all the wounds I took while fighting have already healed I still feel tired. Whatever place my mind went to during that period of time seems to burn a lot of energy. I don't mind however, even though I am tired I still feel great, it was a lot of fun!
Taking a few minutes to catch my breath, I casually watch the orcs continue their attack. It hits me that if I hurt the orcs before they get into the fort that I will have to kill all the humans. So I sit back and relax a bit longer, I will move once the orcs breach the fort.
Taking my belt out of the backpack I strap it around my waist and then pull some food out of my pouch. As I eat I continue to watch the battle, waiting for the orcs to make some progress. The humans are putting up a really good fight, they might even win with a little help.
