《GnR • RoomMates》-28-

I eventually fell into a very confused sleep after the guys had left in a hurry.
The bar where they had played got broken into and a lot of their equipment was still over there, so they went to check on their stuff.
Slash didn't come back to bed so I guess he went home afterwards.
As I wake up I notice the lack of Slash in my bed.
I let out a soft but frustrated sigh. I understand that he went with them but Slash kinda left me hanging last night.
I try to suppress a flashback of his lips on my skin by taking a deep breath and then I swing my legs out of bed.
In the same Metallica t-shirt I walk to the kitchen and open the fridge.
Izz and Duff haven't woken up yet, which I understand, they were basically up all night.
I decide to make them some breakfast as well. I'm feeling french toast.
I'm just putting the first piece of bread in the pan when Izzy waddles out of his room.
I chuckle when I see my disheveled roommate. His hair is pointing every which way and he is in pajamapants and nothing else.
He rubs his face, mumbles
"Morning, you"
and then hops on the counter next to the stove.
He quietly watches me make breakfast with a blank stare that shows he's still half asleep.
I laugh every time I look at him and feed him the cut off crusts.
"Thanks"
He goes with his mouth full.
I am vigorously scrubbing a stuck piece of toast from the pan with my spatula when Izzy goes
"Yo Syl, about last night..."
I look up.
"Who was that girl you were with?"
"Imani? She's my friend from school. Why?"
"No reason"

Izz slides off the counter
"should I go get Duff then?".
A little later the three of us are eating breakfast.
"So what happened when you guys got to the bar? Was everything okay with your stuff?"
I look at Duff.
He swallows and answers
"Yeah... so most of it's still there but those fuckers took two of our amps and what's worse, they took Slash's Les Paul guitar.
My mouth falls open and Duff continues
"We got there before they could grab any more but holy shit, I've never seen Slash so mad".
Izzy sighs deeply
"It's true, a guitar kinda feels like an extension of yourself. He almost broke a fucking window when he saw that they took his Les Paul. It was fuckin' expensive too".
I think about Slash's gold guitar. He always seemed so proud of it and he had drawn a little skull on the back of it's neck. He always held it like it was his baby.
"He must be so upset..."
I mutter to myself.
Then I notice Izzy's eyes on me, I look down
"Oh yeah I'm borrowing your shirt Izz"
I say taking a big bite of toast.
But Izz doesn't stop staring
"I know, that's fine... but what is that?"
He reaches for the side of my neck and almost moves my hair.
In a shock I remember last night and realize I must be covered in hickeys.
I swat Izzy's hand away and try to cover my neck with the t-shirt
"It's nothing!"
My voice sounds unbelievable, even I can hear that.
Izzy and Duff are both looking at me now with a smirk plastered on their faces.
"Who is it?"
Duff jerks his head up.
"Nothing. No one. Shut up"
I panic but can't suppress a smile.
Izzy looks very proud of himself
"Did you get those last night? At the bar? You have to tell us-".
I shovel the last piece of toast into my mouth and stand up
"I don't have to tell y'all shit".
I cover my neck with my hair and huddle to my room.
I can hear my roommates laugh and speculate before I close the door behind me.

Queen in the Mud
A girl suddenly vanishes from her world and finds herself drifting in and out of consciousness in a world of pure darkness. Queen in the Mud is an unusual litrpg novel featuring a female monster protagonist as she makes her way through a vicious untamed world ruled by a "system." (Book one of this story is now available on kindle unlimited. To satisfy exclusivity requirements on that platform, the chapters here have been removed. Here is a link to the book on amazon. I do plan on posting chapters for book two on royal road, but I don't currently have an estimated date for release.) (Cover art by Monomus)

Dungeon of Ideas
My name is Marshall Scott Law, I was a young rich bachelor who fell onto money when I inherited it from my Grandfather who died when I was twelve. For my inheritence I was given a little over one hundred million dollars. Instead of using the money to start a buisness I instead started to invest, after making some decent cash I decided to retire and live my life fishing. I died during a kidnapping gone wrong and when I thought all was lost I reincarnated as a dungeon. Sorry for the bad synopsis they just arent my forte. This is supposed to be a novel roughly based on a general guide while almost everything else will be decided by you the readers. I will make the first room but after that everything else is up to you guys.

Same Crap, Different World
A young man from early 21st century wakes up in a different world. This world is like a typical setting of an fantasy isekai novel. But it is also not. There is magic, alchemy, magical creatures, different non-human races, peasants and nobles, demons and dragons. But there is also politics, persecution, supremacism of every kind, entitlement, slavery and other unpleasant human tendencies. In short, this new world does not differ much from his old one. However, besides him, there may be others who have made such a strange trip, and awakened into this new world. There certainly have been others, in the past. But more than people and other living things, there have been items. All sorts of items, which are regarded as otherworldly artifacts with unknown danger and power. And he himself is an artifact as well, albeit a living one. Therefore he has use for the powers that be. He is also given a role and expectations to fulfill, to hide his real value. And in all that he still has to make sense of what has happened, what is happening, and find a way back, if possible. Author's note: I write this project mostly in (except chapter 1) in 60-100 page (40,000-70,000 word) chapters, edit them as such and later cut them down for publishing into 7-11 page segments (depending on natural breaks in the flow). Therefore, each chapter may be divided into 10-15 subchapters.

At The Lions Gate
In the 20th century America reinvented itself. Devastated by depression, scarred by war, rocked by a revolution, Americans banded together to preserve their country and their freedom. They had faith in themselves, faith in one another, and for those who believed…faith in God. This novel tells the story of one American who lived through those turbulent years….years that would test his character and the character of a nation. For Josh Sanders it begins in 1935. A star athlete in school, pro football is a ticket out of poverty during the Great Depression; but when his father, a WWI veteran, is killed during a robbery, Josh’s spirit is broken, and with it his boyhood dream. To honor his father Josh joins the war effort in 1942, distinguishing himself as a fighter pilot, until a fateful decision near the end of the war changes the course of his life once again. But many years later, after a stint as a boxer and a failed marriage, Josh finds his calling…at a time when the country is at war with itself. The year is 1968. King and Kennedy have been killed, race riots are breaking out, and Vietnam has become an albatross, causing massive protests across the country. In the streets of San Francisco Josh watches a crowd of students march for peace. As a veteran he’s conflicted, toward the war and those who oppose it. But when he encounters Rosy Goldin, a spirited young protester in need of help, a voice from the past calls him to action. His good intentions are soon tested when Rosy falls in love with the fugitive anti-war activist Erick White, a young man determined to oppose the war at all costs, against the wishes of his own father. Fearful of what happens to Rosy, Josh confronts Erick, unwilling to be part of his plan to escape…until he meets the boy’s father. A high-powered criminal attorney, Karl White is also a flag-waving patriot demanding that his son follow the law. But as White makes his case Josh is jolted by a painful war-time memory, a crisis of conscience that will soon determine the fate of Rosy Goldin and Erick White.
