《(Discontinued) Outer Banks | JJ x reader》Part 34

It was silent when I woke up. I figured I had died until I let out a violent cough, followed by more. Someone held me up by my back to let me breath better.
Then I could hear them after a second. Someone was laughing, whooping. "Oh my God." John B sighed. Someone hugged me and from the smell I knew it was JJ. Then Kie hugged me, then John B, then Pope, then Sarah. A group hug not one by one.
"I'm real hot guys." I told them as I started sweating. It was a million fuckin degrees in this house. They slowly let go of me.
I took off the jacket and gave it back to JJ. "I gotta get outside." I told them and started getting up, ignoring their protests.
"Simmer down." John B told me as I started walking out. "Take- just take a second!" Kie yelled. "It's hot!" I yelled in protest as I threw myself out the door.
My body still felt numb so I was a little limp.
I was running because the wind cooled me down, while Pope, John B, and Kie tried to get me to stop.
"Let's go get that cross! Whooo!" I yelled at Pope, holding his face. God I suddenly had so much energy. I yelled a couple more things that I don't remember.
Then they somehow got me into the truck, which I then threatened them so I could drive. I wanted to fuckin go. "(Y/N), I think you're going a little too fast." Kie told me. Her and Sarah were in the front with me, the boys shoved in the back.
"I'm not one to judge but I think you should slow down," JJ agreed. "That would definitely delay our arrival to the cross. We gotta get there as fast as possible." I told them, hitting my hands together on fast as possible.
I was still dopey. Well what's the opposite of dopey but still because of drugs?
"Hands on the wheel," Sarah grabbed my hands and put them back on the wheel. "Why did we let them drive again?" Kie asked. "I said I'd rip your ears off." I replied with a smile.
"Because they said they'd rip our ears off," Sarah agreed. "You did say you were gonna rip our ears off." Kie repeated.

"I was joking about that, by the way." I told them, holding up a finger. "That's a really funny joke." Kie said sarcastically.
"Hey, uh, how you feeling?" John B asked me. "Uh, fantastic. I don't know what JJ's cousin gave me," I pointed back to JJ with my thumb, "but I am moving!" I yelled.
"We couldn't tell." Kie replied. "Okay, uhmmm, you're going really fast right now." Pope told me. "Yeah, really fast!" I agreed and turned around with a smile.
They all yelled at me as we swerved.
"I don't know if you noticed, but there's these giant oak trees all along the side of the road. They're like six inches off the road." John B told me.
I was ignoring them and decided to pass the car in front of me. "You don't need to pass. You don't need to pass." Kie told me, but I already was.
They all yelled as we almost hit a car right in front of me. "What an asshole, right?" I asked them as we got back on the road. "He's going the speed limit." Pope replied.
"We're not going to get to the cross if we're dead, (Y/N)!" John B told me. "We're not gonna die." I replied. "It's Pope's divine right to get that cross." I added, looking back once more.
"Look at the road!" JJ yelled at me, making me turn back suddenly. I ran off the road on accident, but hit the brakes just before we crashed into a tree.
"No! Stop! That's it!" Pope yelled at me. "Out of the car!" He told me. What a dad. "That is the last time you drive, (Y/N)." JB told me as we all got out.
"At least the truck isn't crashed." I told them with a smile. "Dude," Pope shook his head. When we tried to start the car again, however this time our luck turned on us even more. It stalled.
We all yelled a string of curse words, especially Pope.
"I'm going to get that cross," I decided and got out of the car. We've gone through way too much shit for this. They all got out behind me.

"(Y/N)! No!" John B told me. I continued down the road while JB yelled at me. "There's a truck!" He yelled and yanked me off the road so I didn't get hit.
When we looked up, it was like this day actually could get worse and it did. Limbreys side man and Rafe fuckin driving the truck. The man gave us a salut and we all knew they took the cross.
We all stopped and just watched them pass, not being able to do anything. Rafe made eye contact with me and I've never wanted to slap a bitch harder.
"We gotta get back to the church!" Pope yelled. We all immediately started running down the road.
When we got there, like we figured, it was gone. Fuck fuck fuck.
"It's gone." Sarah said. "Damn it!" JJ yelled and kicked the pillows on the ground. He continued yelling at himself.
I sat down on a pew. The adrenaline suddenly rushed out of my body very quickly.
JJ came up with a plan to blow up Limbrey. Great.
"We can't just blow shit up, JJ." John B told him. "Pope, I'm sorry." I said. I know it wasn't my fault that I had a near death situation but somehow I felt guilty.
"Denmark would've stood right here... preaching to everyone he set free. A slave. The sole survivor of the Royal Merchant. He got the gold and the cross and he brought them both to shore and used it to free every person who walked through those doors." Pope said.
"He made a church, a family, a congregation. A home. And the Limbreys took everything from him. They sicked dogs on his wife and his kids and when he tried to get her remains, they hung him. Well, I'm done. I'm tired of that shit. That is not how this is going to end." Pope told us.
"We need a freakin win, guys. I'm going to get my family's cross." He finished and walked out of the church.
"You guys coming?" He added as he opened the door.
"Well, if you put it that way..." John B said. "Maybe we should think about it, you know?" JJ added. "Pros and cons?" I asked. "Pros and cons list," John B agreed.
"Hell yeah we're coming, Pope!" JJ yelled after him as we went out the doors.
We got back to the truck and were sitting inside as JB, JJ, and Pope tried to fix it outside. Then we realized the many cop cars coming up to us. Many.
"Oh shit! They found the truck." Kie said. "Chill." Pope repeated. "Of course." I muttered. "Just chill out." JB told us.
"Good evening officer." He said as Shoupe walked up to him, JB leaning on the truck beside me. "Sherif." He corrected with Shoupe. "Speed kills, huh?" I said from behind the wheel. Shoupe didn't seem to find that very funny.
"I pulled the tags and I know whose truck that is." Shoupe told us. He shined his light into the truck, where Kie had hid behind the back seat.
"Hey, Kie! You drop your weed pen back there?" He asked her. "Found it." Kie replied, making me suppress a laugh.
"Sherif, I just want to say that this is all my fault. She had nothing to do with it so I take 100% responsibility." Pope told Shoupe. "Nothing to do with it? Huh? You wanna try that again?" Shoupe questioned.
"Your parents reported the truck missing four hours ago and the keys were missing from the house." He explained. "I'm taking you home. Or I can pull you all in for leaving the scene of an accident." He added.
"Okay," Kie gave up. "Good." Shoupe replied. "Plum," He called to another officer.
Plum opened the back door. Kie just looked at us sadly as she got out of the car.
"I gotta deal. Hit me up later and make sure I'm still alive." Kie said before Plum closed the door again.
The rest of the boys got back in the car. We all just sat there in silence for a second.
The cops escorted us back to the Chât after leaving with Kie. Then, being dumbass teenagers, we decided to continue our pursuit.

A Titan's Crusade
Erik Thayne spent most of his life being brutally ridiculed and tormented for his weight and physical appearance, among other things. A social pariah and diagnosed with an eating disorder no one has an explanation or treatment for, Erik spent years trying to overcome his issues with his personal image and escape the ridicule and vicious torment of his peers. After years of dedicated effort, and a fresh start in a town away from his childhood and adolescent tormentors, he had finally begun to truly realize what he'd been striving for all along. Only, fate apparently has other plans because in the blink of an eye, Erik found himself snatched from Earth and taken to another universe, another world, where he is offered the chance to be more than he'd ever imagined. Now, he has to fight to restore the Balance between Chaos and Order on a world of swords and magic, in a universe governed by the System's laws, which resemble those of RPGs from Earth. Erik learned to embrace the things about himself that others taught him to hate, using them to reforge his physical identity into something more removed from his old self-loathing. But can he learn to embrace the darkest parts of his mind just as he did the reviled aspects of his body and become who he needs to be to succeed in the task set before him? It might just prove easier to stalk in the dark as a monster than to walk in the light as a man... *This is my first time publishing anything I've written to a public audience. Due to formatting issues, I forwent traditional stat-screens for something a little less problematic, delineating stat screens by separating them from regular text with horizontal lines in a lighter-grey coloration. Let me know if you like them or not. Criticism is entirely welcome, but please don't hate on my work after only reading 1 chapter. This is a writing project I intend to complete but I have committment problems so we'll see how long this goes on. Also, fair warning, as the description implies, the main protagonist is intended to be someone who has been treated cruelly, developed antisocial tendencies, and ultimately has to question his own humanity--or lack thereof. This story is not intended to be brutally dark but I will definitely be trying to follow a darker theme. It is intended to be violent and some scenes later in the story might be...alarming. There will likely also be some light, non-graphic (think more implied with crude jokes and conversation than actual details, there will be no full-blown sex scenes)relationship scenes planned later and if you're opposed to either a bisexual or gay main character, stay away. I haven't yet decided which way he's going to swing but the odds on him being straight are relatively miniscule, and I've always wanted to write a story about a gay man who basically looks like a lumberjack because who doesn't like giving conventional stereo-types the middle finger? This will NOT be a harem story, and I have no intention to focus on romance over action--it's a consequence of character development where I'm concerned, not the be-all-end-all of the story. The cover-art does not, in any way, belong to me. It was an image titled the Druid King (by duskanmarkovic according to the file name) which I found on Google Images. Until I can get something commissioned, this is the best stand-in image I could find.

Dreams Recounted
Each chapter is a different short story recounting a dream I've had. All dreams except for the spare parts chapters are the ones that have proper through lines and any subtext or takeaways from them is almost entirely up to you, the reader. Expect logic to not be all there. The self contained stories will have wildly different genres and 'storylines' so if the first chapter isn't your cup of tea, try the latest or even a random chapter. 105 Unwritten dreams stockpiled.

An Average American in A High-school Academy Anime
An American versed in narrative tropes and more than mildly acquainted with anime wakes up in a completely different bed than the one he went to bed in. Now he has to scramble to understand where he is, what's going on, and hope to God he isn't in a relationship drama. I don't expect this to be good or well-received, but I have plenty of time this quarantine, so I'll try to get a chapter of 4000-10000 words out every one or two weeks. (haha) Please let me know how it can be improved. I'm an avid reader of fiction, but I've never really fallen down a rabbit hole so hard that I can name all tropes and settings and such by heart. I'm not sure if this will be effective satire, so I preemptively apologize. Inspired by: "My Life is Not a Manga, or maybe..." by EO Tenkey and "The Simulacrum" by Eganthale. Check them out if you want probably better stories than this one.
