《Hey Pretty Stranger Sal Fisher x reader x Larry Johnson》Chapter 18 - You have a kid?!

Finally all three of us stood inside Larry's treehouse. It's very cozy, except for the small draft flowing through the room, but over all quite cute and cozy.
Larry and his father did a great job!
I wonder if I could ever meet the genius himself.
The entire room is filled with little nic nacks and regular old family photos. Mostly of him and his mom. But one thing that really caught my eye was a large chest sitting off near the corner of the room. It looked old and had a soft coat of dust lawing atop of it.
I walked closer to it and kneeled down. I opened the chest without even thinking twice, maybe should have re-thought that.
"Y/N get out of there!"
Larry exclaims.
I immediatly back away, startled by the sudden yelling. The lid of the chest however stays open and I spot a picture of a man holding a baby and Lisa standing by the mans side.
Larry rushes over and slams the chest shut. Locking it in the process.
"Who was that?"
"You shouldn't have gone in there."
"Oh, I'm sorry Larry, I- I-"
"Ask next time instead of poking your nose into other peoples buisness!"
"Hey man, she didn't know, it was an accident,"
Sal stands infront of him and touches Larry's shoulder in attempts to calm him down a bit.
Larry sighs and looks down, then back up into my eyes. He looks, almost - sad?
"I'm sorry Larry, you're right, I should have asked-."
I apologise once more.
"No its alright, you didn't know. Its just-..."
Larry takes a deep breath.
"Its just, sensitive, and I don't want anyone to know about it."
Even though him not answering my question made me that much more curious, I said nothing. He seemed really upset about whatever he was hiding from me and I figured if he wanted to tell me about it, he would. So I will not push on.

"I'm sorry man, I didn't mean to lash out at you like that,"
Larry apologised.
"It's alright Larry, you're right I should have asked,"
I smiled back at him.
"Great, now that that's resolved - Y/N,"
Sal interrupts and gestures a hand towards a bean bag. He pulls me away from Larry and sits me down.
"Oh- uh, thanks..?"
I say, confused.
"But why am I sitting down?"
"Because I want you to meet my baby,"
Sal says, causing me to choke on my own spit.
"Your what?!"
"My baby."
Sal repeats. I swear I was going to kill Sal if he had a kid and didn't even bother telling me-
Meow.
My eyes widen at the noise and turn to the direction I heard it coming from.
There I saw a-!
Cat.
A fuzzy, chunky, white cat. But the cute little kitty had spots of orange on its fur as well.
"Y/N, meet my baby,"
Sal introduces me.
"Oh...you were talking about a cat,"
I mumble under my breath.
"Duh what else would I be talking about?"
Sal questions.
"Oh I don't know, a real kid?!"
I say sarcastically.
"Oh god no, I would never want a kid..."
Sal trails off. Then one hell of a sly smirk appears on his face.
"Unless you want one, then, I can totally help make that happen."
"Sal! Not infront of the kitty,"
I joke.
Although, I'm not truly joking, the poor cat could become dirty minded just like his owner.
Sal laughs.
"Y/N meet Gizmo, Gizmo meet Y/N."
The cat meows then struts over to me like this is his world and we are just living in it.
"Gizmo, huh? I like it,"
I smile down at the cat who just jumps into my lap.

I let Gizmo smell my hand first.
Gizmo let's me know it's okay to pet him by brushing his head against my hand.
I pet Gizmo with a big, bright smile on my face.
My father never let me have an animal of any kind, he says they're filthy and repulsing. My father has no heart towards animals, so, it's maybe for the best we don't have one...as much as I wish we did.
But, no matter. I have gizmo now.
--Narrator's POV--
Sal stares down at the young teenage girl with a smile. The girl he had come to like, very much.
He admires her with his entire being.
He doesn't know what switched in him when they met but, something clicked. She just brought this- beautiful light into his darkness.
He warmed up to her quick, and when he saw that Larry couldn't see that as well, at first, Sal was, well... upset. Sal called Larry and told him how amazing she was to him, all the cute little things she does that no one seems to notice, and her very kind heart.
Then Larry decided to give her a chance, at first it was because Sal wouldn't shut up about her, but the second Y/N held Larry's hand for the first time...his motive changed. He came to understand that everything Sal had said about her was true. She has the kindest heart, the most beautiful smile, a heart warming personality, and the brightest presence over all.
Although Larry and Y/N had their little- spit up. They had overcome it together, of course with the help of Sal. But either way they're teenagers, you're going to have loads of random and unnecessary drama here and there. It's just human nature though.
However, although the two boys are surely crushing on Y/N, Y/N is conflicted. She liked these two, yes. But...she didn't know how to choose.
You may be wondering 'how to choose what?'. Well, choose between the two boys. She just couldn't, she wouldn't!
She likes them both and admires their different qualities, she doesn't want to hurt either of them if it does come down to choosing. She really hopes it doesn't, because she just can't choose.
-----
Sal admires Y/N as she brushes a strand of hair out of her face to be able to see Gizmo better.
"He seems to like you,"
Sal says suddenly, breaking the comfortable silence.
Y/N giggles.
"I hope so, cause I like him too."
Gizmo purrs as if he was trying to confirm that he does indeed like her.
"Awe,"
Y/N watches Gizmo as he continues to purr while his eyes gently flutter shut.
He now lays quietly asleep in Y/N's lap.
Larry smiles at the two and walks over to Y/N - taking a seat beside her quietly, as to not wake up Gizmo.
Y/N sub-continuosly lays her head onto Larry's shoulder and rests her eyes.
She was enjoying the peace.
The room felt warm, although the gentle cold draft was still present, it seems as though her heart was warm. And contempt.
These two boys- three boys, Gizmo, made her so happy. Their presence alone made her feel something different.
Something she's never felt before.
Y/N likes this feeling.
She feels cared for, accepted, understood and...loved.

Almost a Good Person
A memory, a memory of a boy who wanted more than pain, of a girl who wanted more than death, and an Isle that should not exist. The Isle of Red is a small, unassuming, quiet place. It is just large enough for a college, a small town, and maybe even a few more unusual sorts of places. Of course, the townsfolk practically know each other as family. Flush-faced regulars can be found toasting just about anything in the Briar's Brew, then, a few streets away, the same haggle of older women stationed themselves on their perch as they did every day from one of the few balconies in Central Square. They fuss away now, spouting the usual gossip as they watch us all from on high. Then there is the College here on the Isle of Red. My college. It has been often described as an unusual place by a good deal of people on the mainland. If they only would visit -why I am sure they'll soon have a change of heart, they may even come to find it a quaint sort of place, odd but in the same way a tattered old quilt can be both odd looking and warm, and especially soft. We teach mostly the same sort of disciplines here, with fantastic and absolutely normal professors.I must conclude that I am quite smitten with myself. The stage is set with a level of perfection that would have astonished me in my youth. They are coming. Derek will follow her. He knows the weight of reality too intimately, but she will be his true north if only for a short time. A beacon in the storm to show him the stunning pastels and brightness the sun may yet refract through his thinner, sharper pieces. Theoline will lead as she always has- well not always, not yet. She holds onto questions feverishly tight, that one. Lights them up inside like a new type of fuel without the slightest worry of being burned. She knows... There is but a certain few who can look at a map and find nothing where I stand but the Atlantic Ocean. And still, there is earth beneath me, a noisy pub down the road from me, and several people clucking conspiratorially on a balcony above me. She knows... that the Isle of Red doesn't belong here. Neither, technically, do I. (Hello!
