I gulped to myself. It really was true! I was... only Level 1?! I fell to my knees and screamed in mortal horror. Kamiko had betrayed me! I was left powerless in this kick-ass fantasy gamer world, but at the lowest possible level? And she hadn't even had time to decide on a cheat skill?!

I was the weakest level in this fantasy world. I searched the streets as some catgirls and a fruit vendor with giant melons (selling apricots) looked at me, concern and fear in their eyes, staring at me like I was some kind of crazy person. I felt a flush creep over me, ambushing me and stabbing me in the back of the cheeks, until they bled out, which I'm pretty sure is how blushing works, even if I wasn't the best in biography class.

That Kamiko! Not only had she made me level one, the weakest of all levels, but then she made me fall on my knees and shout in the middle of a crowded street, which was definitely not my fault. I'd show her! They say the greatest revenge is a life well-lived, but if I had wanted to live a well life, I wouldn't have spent all my time watching video games and playing anime! Instead, I'll have to settle for extremely petty showboating and spite!

I'd become the strongest hero! The highest level! At least level 69, but I might stop there because I mean, come on.

With my character-developing trauma fully realized, and a good several seconds spent anguishing over my own weakness, I stood to my feet, completely refreshed.

If I was going to become super strong, then I'd have to just work hard and get to work. After all, becoming powerful through ones own effort is the most rewarding. Kamiko may not have had time to decide on a cheat skill, but with these two hands of mine, I have enough power to take on the world! With nothing but my own grit and determination!

First things first, I had to get an idea of where I was. I activated my [Periscope Vision], along with my [X-Ray Vision], [Telescopic Vision], [Long-Range Hearing] and [Sniff Supremacy]. Instantly, my mind was overwhelmed by sights, sounds, and smells, as I took in the entire city from above. I couldn't help but grin a smile as I beheld the city.

It was a walled city with a river running through it in a lazy, crooked way. In other words, the perfect Isekai town! I looked a bit closer. It looked like I was a bit south of the city center, and I saw a big building that was probably the Adventurer's Guild. I telescoped in to it and realized that the sign actually said it was the Town Hall.

I guess that makes sense, the Town Hall is probably pretty important. I turned my attention instead to the building next to it, which was twice as large and had spotlights and a magic-neon sign, which read "Adventurer's Guild." Now, that's the ticket!

I zoomed in, and was shocked, flabbered, and gasted at what I saw! This town... it was full of SKELETONS! Everywhere I looked, the town was overflowing with the undead! I'd... I'd have to do something about this! I turned off my [Periscope Vision] and sprinted into action, hurtling down the road of the street towards the Adventurer's Guild!
