Content Warning: Deadly virus, blood and implied death
lots of angst
*sorry ________________________
"I'm so sorry"
That's what you hear almost everyday.....
Strangers in Nevada feeling pity for you, it's not like you don't appreciate them, but it gets really annoying every time. Everyone has heard that you've caught a virus, it just so happened to be a rare one with no cure. Even worse when they see the obvious black tar spots on your skin. Everybody avoids you as to not get the virus themselves. It's been advised by a doctor that you should be in quarantine for at least 7 months, but since it's gotten so painfully unbearable, the doctor boosted it up to 1 year.
You can't even see your own dad because he's been working. He always says he loves you and gets you everything you want and need...but you can't help but feel so lonely. You never had any friends after your diagnosis, each day is filled with paranoia waiting for death to come any moment, but it never came. Here you are in your bed with an IV attached to your lower arm down to your hand, you couldn't properly feed yourself since you couldn't walk or move your arm without a shock of pain. The auditor, your dad, sometime on his break is when he comes to visit you, it's always nice to see him, I guess.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Nice day outside, huh?"
One of your caretakers asked you
"I guess...I mean, I never really live to see it anymore"
You replied to her with a sorrow and monotone tone-"I still don't understand how your father can see you like this and has the audacity to leave you"-She looked a bit stressed by the Auditor's choices, who wouldn't? Imagine having to take care of his child who can't take care of themselves and he just leaves them so he can corrupt the state even more. You acknowledged her sassy comment on your dad-"He means well...I hope"-"well, at least you're an easygoing kid. You're easy to take care of, behavior-wise I mean" she answered back to you. Since you never see your father you barely get any praise from anyone so hearing that from someone made you feel warm inside-"Your father has something planned for you" you sat up quickly, you groaned by the sharp pain in your body, but your racing thoughts ignored it your dad? Visiting you? Hanging out with you? Finally a wish came true
"Planned?! Really? Like what?" You shot back quickly as you got excited-"calm down, kiddo"-she chuckled-"He just said he had something planned for you and to keep it to myself to surprise you, but I couldn't help but spill it out"
-"W-wow, I don't even remember the last time my dad hung out with me"- she looked away and then her grin faded into a soft frown, was she cryin-"welp I'm going to enjoy my lunch break. If you need anything just press that big res button on the side of your bed mkay?" She wiped her tears while still keeping a cheery tone "o-oh yeah sure" you answered back "...you're a good kid, [name]" she left before you could say anything.
It was such a relief to finally have the IV removed. You were put on prescribed medication so your symptoms could be less severe and your pain more bearable, you were a bit sore though. You put on your outfit, it was always a bit cold in Nevada even in the summer it was 50-60 degrees it's especially worse when it's the fall or winter, so you wore something to keep you warm. You grabbed your cane so you could walk, you had trouble walking since you were always in pain when you did.
(You can decorate it however you like I just thought it'd be cute especially with little charms!)
The Auditor would pick you up in 5 minutes so you decided to look out the window and breath that fresh Nevada air. You opened the window and...*violent coughing* you immediately closed the window back down to take a breather, what you smelt was a strong cigarette scent and wet dog. You walked over to your fathers office to see if he was ready, he was already at your doorway when you turned around, it made you jump a little-"I'm assuming you already knew about my visit since your dressed up" he talked to you in a deep rough voice "y-yeah, Star already told me"-"I knew it, she never keeps her mouth shut"-well, that was just plain rude. "Alright let's go, kiddo" you missed the nicknames that he gave you. He picked you up on his shoulders.
"Where are we going?" You asked him quietly but just enough so he could hear -"We're going to somewhere we used to go before your hospitalization"-you couldn't remember it well, that was one of the symptoms: memory loss-"My memory is fuzzy, can you remind me?"-"Well it was this patch of green grass with a bench, I personally bought it whenever we spend some time together"-he bought a place just for you? Does he actually care about you? Aww-"oh-! Ok!" You try to hide your excitement as to not get your hopes up.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You two arrive at the place, Auditor places you on the bench and takes a seat himself. He looks at the blood red sky and says-"I don't remember the last time the sky has been a cloudy grey"-"*cough* it's been there ever since I've been created" you made a reply to his comment-"yeah I know, you were born 1 year after the whole Hank ordeal"-"How'd the sky turn red anyways?"-"I don't know if this is true, but I heard that Hank killed the sun"-"...that just sounds fake"-"well, I don't have the full story for ya'"- you two sit in silence for 2 seconds until you take a deep breath. The cigarette smell filled your lungs making you cough violently-"Woah there, kiddo! Are you okay?" His tone of voice was genuinely concerned-"yeah *cough* *cough* it's just that- ow- I accidentally breathed in a cigarette aroma"-"hold still, kiddo" he held your face as he dragged a rag across your face to wipe off the black tar in your mouth and eyes. He relaxed once more looking into the sunset-"I'm sorry I couldn't spend time with you, sweetheart. I just had too much work, I always try to make time for you at the end of the day though"
You sat in silence, you couldn't help but tear up. You finally get to spend time with your dad after- what? 6-12 months? Auditor continued talking, you tried to keep in your sobs, but you just couldn't and then a whimper slipped up-"So- hey-hey..what's wrong, sweetie?"-"n-nothing *sniff* it's nothi-"-you couldn't help it anymore. You finally broke down and sobbed which made it harder to breathe with the black liquid clogging your throat-"oh my god! [name] what happened?" Auditor pulled you in for a hug. You sobbed into his black suit until you stopped crying. Your eyes were red and wet and your eye bags were more visible and purple-"I just- it's- it's just that we never spend time together and I'm reallyscaredthatI'mgoingtodiebeforeI'mwithyouonelastti-"-"Jesus, kiddo. Nothing's going to happen. I will stay with you even on your last days"-"do-do you really mean that?"-"of course, ever since you came into my life it's been much better. Seeing you everyday just being alive makes me have some faith in this cruel f*cked up world"- you chuckled when he said "f*cked" you felt at peace with this situation.
Finally
You could rest without worrying about death or love
"Finally..."

The Forbidden Class
Hatred. Lust. Power. There are many reasons why the Forbidden Classes are chosen. For Katai, a young village Guard, the reason was simple. Vengeance. Schedule I’ve not been able to write for quite some time now, so while I’m getting back into things the schedule will be nonexistent. Story details LitRPG - expect classes and skills and magic. We all have our own philosophies that we subscribe to. We either create them ourselves, or we stumble across ones that resonate with us. Some may be evil, some may be good, some may be neutral, some may be incoherent, and some may be inconsistent. With this in mind, to what extent will we defend our beliefs? At the cost of our lives? Or at the cost of others? Beliefs are one of the most powerful and destructive things in the world. It drives us to act, pushes us to continue, and can lead to fulfillment.
