Here she was.

Yellow was about to participate in her first Battle Chateau tournament round since Cerulean City. Even though she knew she had to relax and keep a cool head, she couldn't help but be nervous. Even if she did manage to win up to the final round, there was still the possibility someone more powerful would be there as well, and she appeared to be good.

What if she lost?

What if she lost the first round again?

Would Ash abandon her because she was weak?

Would he leave her behind because she was a burden to his mission?

She couldn't let that happen.

"You may now choose your Pokemon!" the judge announced.

" Kitty! I choose you!" Yellow cried as she sent out the alpha Beedrill effectively scaring her opponent and the audience.

Austin meanwhile scratched his chin.

What was Yellow's game plan?

Why did she send out her strongest Pokemon in the first round?

"~Gulp~ I shall choose Meowth!" the other girl responded as she sent out her Pokemon.

In the audience, Lucario immediately put his paws on Austin's shoulders while Pikachu jumped to the side.

Pikachu instincts had naturally kicked in as Austin's aura spiked up when he saw Meowth.

Austin's aura tattoos glowed a little before he calmed down, this Meowth was unlike Team Rocket's Meowth, it looked like a typical Meowth. It was female, stood on four legs instead of two, and lacked human speech.

" Calm down." Lucario calmly exclaimed as he tried to suppress Austin's sudden burst of aura.

"This is an official Battle Chateau Challenge between Yellow and Elsa! There will be no time limit! Begin!" the judge shouted as he slowly crept towards Elsa's side.

He wasn't a big fan of bug-type Pokemon especially Beedrill.

"Aerial X !" Yellow ordered.

Kitty suddenly disappeared with the speed of an aerial ace, reappearing above Meowth with her stinger's glowing with a greenish aura as Meowth took on the X Scissor head-on.

Due to the special way the room was built for battles, it kept its trainers and any spectators from feeling the vibrations.

Meowth was struggling to stay on its feet which Yellow used to her advantage.

" Poison Sting!" Yellow called out.

Kitty shot out a barrage of glowing needles which struck Meowth dead-on.

"We aren't done yet! Meowth! Use Screech!" Elsa ordered.

The Meowth then let out an ear-piercing screech causing everyone else but Austin and Lucario in the room to cover their ears. Kitty received the brunt of the attack and its defense was harshly lowered.

"Use Quick Attack, Meowth!" Elsa ordered as her Meowth dashed forward at great speed and slammed into Kitty.

" Harden Cutter!" Yellow ordered as Kitty jerked back up midair as her entire body flashed metallic for a second before her stinger rained down on Meowth.

"Use Quick Attack to Dodge, Meowth!" Elsa called out.

Meowth crashed into the ground as her body showed a lot of damage from Kitty's harden and Fury Cutter combo.

"Use thunderbolt, Meowth!" the girl cried.

The Meowth was unable to, as the fury cutter had done a lot of damage as the feline was knocked backward onto the ground in defeat.

"We have a winner! Meowth is unable to battle which makes Yellow and Beedrill the winners of the first round!" the judge announced while waving his flag in Yellow's direction.

" Pika !"

Yellow looked up to see Pikachu and Lucario cheering on but her eyes were only fixed on one person.

Austin just smiled and gave her a nod.

It had been a really tough time, but Yellow had managed to win the next two rounds. Yellow had used a Tenty and Dody to battle in the next rounds. Yellow felt a bit better after winning the next two rounds the right way as she didn't want to overpower her opponent. It wasn't like she was fighting for her life.

Austin and the others were currently out in the lobby. They were given five minutes of rest to prepare. Now the final round of the Battle Chateau Challenge was about to begin, and Yellow's last opponent was someone that took Austin by surprise.

A young green-haired boy from the Hoenn region who would become a rival to May in the anime; Drew.

Austin wondered if Drew had left the poketech school after he defeated him or after he had graduated from that sorry excuse of an institute.

Yellow and Drew were now standing at each end of the battle hall ready to face each other.

Yellow looked at Drew with extreme determination even though she had seen Austin humiliate this trainer but after all the battles she had with Austin, she had one thing engraved into her mind by Austin.

Never underestimate your opponent.

Yellow had her focus completely on the battle in front of her. She felt more than ready right now and was determined to receive the rank of Viscountess.

Austin meanwhile was wondering who Yellow would choose in this battle.

It couldn't be Kitty, Dody, or Tenty since she had given them all a chance to battle.

Iny ( Dratini ) wasn't very fond of battles to that left only one.

Chu-Chu ( Pichu )

"This is an official match of the Battle Chateau tournament! Whoever wins this round shall receive their plaque and move up to the next rank! The trainers may now curtsey to one another and choose their Pokemon!" the judge announced.

Yellow and Drew did as told and gave polite curtsies to one another but Austin could see an arrogant smirk lining Drew's face.

' Amateur,' Austin thought while narrowing his eyes.

It was then time to choose their Pokemon.

"Come on out, Chu-Chu!" Yellow called once she threw the Pokeball.

"You should have used your Beedrill inside, what can a little rat do against me ? ! Let me show you what a real strong pokemon looks like !" Drew called out meanwhile while Yellow and Chu Chu glared at the obnoxiously arrogant trainer

" Ivysaur, I choose you!" Drew then threw the Pokeball.

Everyone watched as a Pokemon that looked similar to Bulbasaur appeared. It was a little larger than one and was a darker shade of blue. Instead of a bulb on its back, it had bloomed into a bud.

" How much time do you think it would take ?"

" 10 minutes," Austin answered back.

" Oh, quite the trust you have in your maiden. Well, I believe it would take 7 minutes." Lucario answered back.

" What's the bet ?" Austin said while glancing at the smirking Lucario.

" Why don't we go big or go home ?"

" I am listening."

Hearing everything that the duo was saying, Pikachu couldn't help but sweatdrop.

These two were insane.
