《How I Became A Jarl》Treasure Under The Water pt. 2

What were they after? Everyone who slept wasn’t injured and those guys were just standing here under the deck. “What were they doing? What were they doing?” I asked myself as I was walking around in hope of some idea popping into my head. Then it hit me. They were standing by the door on the tip of the ship… but wouldn’t that lead to the sea? When I opened the door I saw something like a dark hallway and the darkness was interrupted by occasional lights.
How did they fit that in the ship?! When I looked around inside there were like no walls around the door. Just a door in the middle of the hallway. Whatever it is… They were defending it so something must be in there. When I passed the door this unsure feeling came to my mind. What if the door closes and disappears? Just to be sure I blocked the door with an ax so it wouldn’t close by itself.
The longer I walked the bigger the hallway looked. Then I saw a white light. I finally reached the end and there was this big circular room. The roof was made of glass and stained glass windows with the sun and moon. It looked like the stained glass with the sun was shining very differently than the moon. While I was looking at the stained glass I noticed something. Fishes flying behind the glass.
[ Eric ]
“Am I seeing things?”
I didn’t think about where is this building but it’s underwater… When I looked closer I could even see a ship above far away. Is this our ship? In the middle of this room, there was something like a weighing pan with one side having a pattern that looked like a sun and the other like a moon. By it there were weights. With my simple-minded thinking, I put a few weights on the side that looked like a sun. Some kind of gate opened on one side of the building. I walked toward it and noticed that there is something engraved on the floor. It looked like a compass and the gate that was opened was on the east side. Without much thinking, I just went in. I heard someone walking behind me. Don’t know how far he is but I don’t want him to suspect that I know about him. I grabbed one of the hatchets and was ready to throw it at him but before I could even throw it, I noticed that it was Tae.

“Mind telling me why are you sneaking on me?” I asked with my hatchet still ready to throw.
[ Tae ]
“Well… I wasn’t sure if that was you so I was going to just follow you until I’ll see your face… And now… I know it’s you… Could you… Put this down?” Said stressed Tae as he pointed at my hatchet.
[ Eric ]
“Didn’t know you were that brave to follow someone into the weird building.”
[ Tae ]
“Well… You made me do it…”
[ Eric ]
“Okey… Then let’s go.”
[ Tae ]
“Where?”
[ Eric ]
“I don’t know. Somewhere where those guys went.”
[ Tae ]
“What guys?”
[ Eric ]
“Probably some kind of believers of one god. All I know is it might be connected to the moon or something like that.”
[ Tae ]
“How do you know all that?”
[ Eric ]
“Can’t tell you much except for me seeing a guy with a tattoo of the moon.”
At the end of the corridor, there was some kind of gate with some kind of metal elements that looked like stars. There was some kind of paths between those stars.
[ Eric ]
“Any ideas on how to open that?” I asked as I turned around and looked at Tae.
[ Tae ]
“Um… Maybe… We can try to move those starts? There are some paths curved so maybe we need to connect them or something.”
We could move the stars by the use of paths but we didn’t know where they should be. After randomly moving them I spined one and it changed shape a little.
[ Eric ]
“Hey, check if you can rotate your stars. This one changed the shape.”

[ Tae ]
“They do!” Said Tae as he rotated two stars and changed their shape.
[ Eric ]
“Wait! Wait! Stop!” I grabbed Tae’s arms as he was rotating the stars. “You see. They're like the puzzles you can connect this one with this.” When we connected all of those pieces they looked like one big sun. The sun rotated once and opened the gate.
The room was dark Tae was going to grab one of the torches behind but when I took one step in the path a fire appeared. At the end of the path, there was a round platform with a pedestal.
On the pedestal was some kind of sword. The sword had an orange grip, a pommel, and a cross-guard that looked like a sun.
[ Tae ]
“What kind of sword is this?” Said Tae as he slowly approached me.
[ Eric ]
“Another step… and this hatchet goes into your head.” I said as I threw one of the hatchets in front of Tae.
[ Tae ]
“What the hell! Are you trying to kill me?!”
[ Eric ]
“If you take another step then… yes…”
[ Tae ]
“Why would you even think of…”
[ Eric ]
“Because you’re fake!”
[ Tae ]
“Fake?! Huh. What do you mean?”
[ Eric ]
“You’re not Tae!”
[ Tae ]
“I! Am! Tae!”
[ Eric ]
“No, you are not! Tae would never go into some kind of weird door! He is too scared! If he would found me, he would immediately ask me to come back to the ship. In front of that gate, he would question himself and me if we should open that. And most of all… You forgot to copy his tattoo… I noticed this when we were working on the puzzle. There. Was. No. Tattoo…”
The man screamed as he ran toward me with my own hatchet in his hand. I threw my hatchet in a rush and missed him. With the sword behind me that I fastly pulled out of the sheath and decapitated him. When I grabbed the sword I felt a sudden burst of power. Once his head was cut off some kind of dark dust came out of his body and his true body showed up.
[ Eric ]
“That’s a really nice sword… And it’s mine now!”

Soul Core Online
Soul Core Online was a game that few people were interested in until after it was released, due to its odd way of handling character growth but this soon changed as people started to realise just how different this game was. Unlike many of its predecessors the NPCs in Soul Core Online acted in a way that was indistinguishable from real people and the world felt alive because of this instead of the empty and sterile cities we had come to expect, even walking down the street could give you insights to how these people lived. In my case this was the world that I had always wanted to visit and I soon found myself embroiled in the constantly changing world that is Soul Core Online.
