《Their Human》Chapter forty three: Lawrence

After we all spoke and reached a final decision, we all went to get ready for our departure. I headed upstairs to go wear something warmer: sweatpants, a hoodie and sneakers. I tied my hair up into a messy bun and walked to the closet for my suitcase. Silas told me that we were not returning to the house so I had to pack items I would need.
When I was done with that, I went outside to my car and put the suitcase inside my trunk. We had all decided to go ahead and see my parents and I needed to somehow convince them to let me take their weapons. How was I going to do that without a valuable explaination? This isn't me borrowing a pair of shoes, it's guns that can end someones life.
My parents may have been very ignorant about my unhappiness but they have never been fools. They can sniff out a lie before you even begin to say it, which is why I have to choose my words wisely.
And what if they say no? Do the men have a plan B if this all fails?
Snapping me from my thoughts, a large rose bush near me started shaking violently, making me take a few steps back in surprise. I looked at it with widened eyes, trying to see from the dark just what was inside.
Is it that rabbit again?
Usually, I would find a cute grey rabbit stuck in my rose bushes while it was trying to get to my vegetable garden on the other side... But this didn't seem to be it.
Whatever is in there is far bigger.
"Hello?" I asked, still stepping back. I wasn't stupid. I've watched enough horror movies to know that I should never approach something strange. Even if this was just an animal, it could be a venomous snake so I'm not taking any chances.
I quickly turned around to go and call the twins when something heavy shoved my back. I lost balance and fell to the ground, the object crushing me from above. Clawing my fingers on the grass, I gasped for air, feeling my lungs and ribcage getting pushed into the concrete. Something massive was on top of me and I couldn't breathe.
Suddenly, a hot bone-chilling voice spoke against my neck, large hands wrapping around my wrists to constrict me. "Hello there," it whispered coarsely, making me want to cringe deeper into the ground. I kicked the air, trying to land it on whoever this was. It was all I could do for myself. His strength was like someone laid a car on top of me.

The man sniffed my neck, a loud moan escaping his lips. I closed my eyes and tried to mind control the twins but he was distracting me, the fear jumbling with my thoughts. "Oh, you smell glorious."
"Thanks, I use a perfume called 'Alexander will murder you'." I wheezed out, unable to inhale much oxygen. I really shouldn't be wasting my air like that. I could die.
He sniffed me again, his moan getting louder. I somehow got enough oxygen to scream when the man started grinding himself against my ass, making me kick even harder than before. I must have caught him by surprise cause his grip on me loosened. Like a snake, I quickly spun around and fisted the man, making his head jerk to the side.
I crawled away and quickly scrambled up, preparing to run when I crashed against something tall and solid. Falling on my ass and nearly getting a concussion, I looked up to see Alexander's tall figure standing in front of me.
"Now look what you've done." He snarled, his eyes turning bright red. When he said that, get wasn't looking at me but at the man that was behind me, smiling like the psychopath he looked like.
"Alex! Long time no see!" The man said, running a hand over his blonde slicked-back hair. I got up and stood behind Alexander, who didn't even seem a slight bit threatened.
"You're Valedria's slave now, Lawrence?"
The Lawrence guy shook his head, holding his hands out in surrender. He opened his mouth to speak but Alexander didn't let him. In just a millisecond, he went from standing in front of me to landing a deadly punch to the other vampire. A sickening crack echoed throughout my driveway as Lawrence fell to the ground.
Alexander stood over him, staring at him in disgust. Lawrence was somehow still conscious but his nose was so twisted. "You filthy pig, grinding yourself on my woman. Don't you know that I'm supposed to be doing that?" He asked. I blushed at his comment and at the slight thought of him taking me...
Okay now's not the time!
"Come on man, you're picking a human over your friend? Think about this." Lawrence pleaded with him.
"How many of you are here?" Alexander asked.
"Alex..."
"How many?" He shouted, punching him again. I looked at Alexander's face. He looked like he was in pain. Like it killed him inside that he had to do this.

"H-half of our males... All creatures." Lawrence confessed.
"For how long until they go back?" Alexander asked again, grabbing a fistful of his shirt. His hand was shaking as he did that, the glow in his eyes starting to dull.
"Alexander... You don't want this man. You don't want to be here." Lawrence whispered, slowly lifting his hand to hold his. Alexander looked down as if he was considering what his friend had just said. I bit my lip in nervousness. Was he thinking about changing his mind?
"How long until they go back?" He asked softly.
"Until the human is dead," Lawrence answered. Alexander nodded, preparing to punch again when Lawrence stopped him.
"Your mom is in a dungeon!"
Alexander froze, his eyes widening when they finally turned brown.
"Valedria will only let her go if you help us end this. She is being tortured."
Alexander let Lawrence go and stood up, turning to face me. I looked at him, the hate in his eyes now directed at me. They started glowing again, making me shake my head at him. "Please don't listen to him," I asked him softly.
"Are you going to choose this over your mother? She carried you for nine months and raised you for fifty more!" Lawrence said. He pointed at me, "and she took it all from you."
I didn't mean to!
Alexander stepped closer to me, grabbing my neck tightly and pulling me to him. I looked up at him, not saying anything to him. If I did, my voice would crack and he would see that I'm scared of him.
"Do you love me?" He asked me.
"Yes, I do." I said without hesitation. I had never told him that before.
"Good, because I love you too." He said.
Before I could react, he had let go of me and sped to Lawrence, snapping his neck. I nearly threw up when the sickening crack came much louder than the previous one. Lawrence fell limp on the ground, and this time I doubted he would wake up.
I took a deep breath and slowly fell on my knees, my hands pressing against the cold driveway. I believed for a small moment that Alexander would kill me. That he would listen to his friend and help Valedria.
I heard his shoes crunching on the small pebbles as he approached me. Gently, he held my arm and helped me up, carrying me in his arms. We went back inside and he placed me on the sofa. "Are you okay?" He asked me softly, sitting next to me. I nodded, still speechless about what had happened.
He brushed a stray strand of my hair behind my ear and I leaned into his cold hand, trying to ease my slightly panicking state.
"Don't worry, I will always choose you." He told me, kissing my cheek. I looked at his lips and he looked at mine, gliding his finger over my lower lip. "May I?" He asked softly, seeming to be mesmerized by them. I quickly nodded, leaning in to kiss him.
His soft lips molded with mine and we kissed slowly, I parted my lips, allowing him entry into my mouth. I moaned softly when his cold tongue touched mine, my hands running down his shirt over his chest. I could feel his hard abs underneath the thin fabric. I felt every dip and muscle, wanting nothing more than to rip his clothes off.
He pulled away from our kiss and leaned his forehead against mine, closing his eyes. "I'm obsessed with you." He whispered to me with a slight chuckle. I smiled at him, "obsession is unhealthy."
"Drugs are unhealthy too and that's exactly what your lips feel like."
"Then stop kissing me," I suggested with a grin. He pulled away from me and stared at me like I'm delusional.
"I'd rather overdose, thank you." He mumbled, kissing me again. I could hear footsteps approaching behind us and then Silas spoke. "Sorry to interrupt you love fairies but it's time for us to leave."
"You mean love birds?" I asked, standing up from the couch.
Silas raised his brow in confusion, "why would it be birds?"
Okay... nevermind
"Let's just get this over with."
