《Sonnets》73. The White Hell

I look outside and gaze upon the white ground

at that winter wonderland everyone sings about.

Not all winters are as wonderful as they sound

as seeing cold snow makes me want to checkout.

When I look out at the bitter frost, the slippery ice

I get an urge to return to my warm and comfy bed.

There are some that feel snow is a very small price

as this kind of weather rarely makes anyone dead.

I realize there are worse things to fear in this planet

like a volcano, earthquake, tornado, or hurricane.

By comparison, snow shouldn’t make anyone sweat

I’d rather have snowflakes to take the others again.

When prepared it’s the safest, there is no argument

so as the snow falls, we should feel very fortunate.
