"everbodys doing a brand new dance now" kicking my feet to the rhythm of the song the radio was playing laying on my stomach flipping through the pages of my moms rave magazine.

i've never wanted time to pass by so slow i mean it was 2 weeks till summer break but it wasn't so much a break for me i'd be working at a convenience store a couple of blocks down. it was like the busiest store for a few miles out of town to.

"move around the floor in a loco motion" i heard my mom's voice join in looking up to see her passing my room with a laundry basket "need help mom" she jumped a little clearly not realising my door was open.

i let out a light laugh placing the magazine down getting up and taking the basket from my mom and walking down the the living room with her following.

"you know my mom always use to say 'girls are bratty when they grow up so don't have em' but i was blessed"

she smiled grabbing my cheek and giving it a light kiss.

my mom was a sweet lady after we moved here she fell pregnant with a gorgeous baby boy, anthony , he looked identical to me the same curly brown hair and green eyes even the freckles to.

i placed the basket of clothes onto the coffee table and walking to the kitchen island sitting on the wooden stool.

it's was about 5.30pm so mom was making dinner like she always would and dad was on his way home from work "lani when your at the store can you see if you can get some eggs i'll put them up with the dry cleaning" i nodded but was stopped before i could answer with words.

"can you get the phone?" "already on it mom" picking up the phone from the stand "hello" i spoke first not hearing anything "hey kailani" it was ziya my best friend my first friend i ever made here. we talked for a little while just about parent appropriate things since both are moms were present.

"hey mom can ziya come over for dinner" i called over to her she was still cooking i twisted the twirled cored of the phone.

"sure tell her her mom is welcome to" i smiled repeating everything she said into the phone she'd be here in about 10 minutes we said are good bye and i put the phone down.

"whatch ya cooking good lookin" both me and mom turned to the voice my dad had just got home from work "ew dad that's grows" my face scrunched as he laughed and kissed my mom. ew have come you be so in love.

about a hour later and everyone was sat around the table my and ziya sat next to each other whilst are parents talked about what ever they normally talk about "oh when i tell you the attitude that girl had" both me and ziya rolled are eyes looking at one another "why do moms always talk about the boring stuff" she whined with a huff "i don't know but am so over it hey i got these new show wanna come see" she quickly nodded we rushed out the room and into mine are moms were to busy talking and my dad was way to busy watching some tv show.

"hey kenny had his friends over yesterday one there's this really cute one" she smirked taking a seat on my bed as i closed my door "ew z your brothers friends are so not cute nothing against them there just how do you say it.. annoying" i tried not to offend the girl as it is her brother and his friends.

"yeah but there's this one he's tall he has glasses he's shy i think he's really cute" she held a giddy smile and kicking her feet.

i shuck my head at her smiling back.

"oh and hey benny from your math their good friends to" her eyebrows moved up and down.

"ew no don't do that thing with your eyebrows am pretty sure he hates me to" she huffed a little falling onto her back.

"god anthony get off of me" annoyed i pushed the boy that just through him self onto me "there's this new kid he just moved in".

it had been about 3 days since ziya was here it was now saturday and i was tiered.

"oh yeah is he my age is he hot" i couldn't careless i still had my eyes closed i just wanted to gross him out so he would leave.

"ew lanier no come on mom wants to say hi" he kneeled behind me pushing his face in front of mine.

"move you look silly upside down" i was practically whispering and pushing his forehead from me making him fall back.

i groaned loudly hoping my mom would hear just how annoyed i was .

"get out" i finally turned to my brother pointing to the bedroom door and rubbing a hand over my eyes.

he huffed getting up leaving not forgetting a 'i hate you' under his breath.

i smiled sarcastically at the now closed door.

my absolute favourite part of my day, picking out my outfit.

i bit down on my lip and pushing through the clothe hangers i landed on a little blue plaid skirt and a white turtle neck.

"KAILANI HURRY UP"
