Running footsteps resonated through the hall of the hospital. The person who was running was a boy, a teenage boy whose name is Akio [L/n]. He looked frantic.

He comes to a halt after turning to a corner. "Excuse me!" He shouted louder than intended which resulted in several heads to turn towards his direction.

"What's the problem, Akio-kun?" One of the female nurses came up to him and asked.

"My sister," he takes a deep breath to catch his breath and to calm himself before continuing. "I think her heart's weakening." His statement made the nurse to grab his wrist and start walking in quick steps to head to the patient's room, to check on [F/n].

"Are her legs, ankles and feet swelling?" The nurse asked which Akio responded with a nod of his head and a, "I also felt her heartbeat too. It was beating irregularly."

"You planning to be a doctor one day, kid?" Her question was immediately answered without an ounce of hesitation from the boy.

"Yeah."

The nurse smiled and wished him good luck before running ahead. Akio watches the person he talked to inform another fellow nurse about bringing a doctor and be fast with it as it was an emergency.

Not too long, he saw the bed which his sister's still laying on exit the room as it was being pushed by a couple of nurses while a doctor walks ahead, all clearly in a rush. It made his stomach churn while his heart to drop.

Seeing the nurse he's familiar with pass by, he grabs her wrist. "She's not gonna..." he swallowed the lump in his throat as he faltered. He was filled with dread to even say or finish his question.

Thankfully, the black haired nurse noticed. It was obvious. The look in his eyes, the sweat trailing down his forehead, and how his hand that held her wrist was trembling.

"Your sister will be fine." She assured the anxious and terrified boy with a smile while Youko, the siblings' mother arrives before she could ask her whereabouts.

"My daughter!" The middle aged woman shouted, frantic with worry just like his son earlier. "How is she?" She asked in between pants and huffs as she ran all the way to the third floor because she couldn't waste a single second as soon as she received the call.

"Akio-kun informed me that [Y/n]-san was showing signs of her heart weakening which is true. She's been taken to the operation room not too long since you arrived." The nurse calmly explained the situation to the mother who's clearly distressed because of the thought of loosing her beloved child.

"Tell the doctor to, please..." Youko spoke after a moment of silence, her voice brittle and soft. "Please save [Y/n], no matter what. I don't care how much it cost...!" Tears welled up in her eyes and it didn't take another second for it to finally fall and drip down on the ground as she lowered her head.

It made Akio to shed tears too, especially when he's hearing and seeing another heartbreaking sight of his mother be so vulnerable.

"Just don't, don't let my baby die, please."

Inside the bathroom, huffs and pants could be heard as well as the running of water from the sink which a [h/c] teenage girl whose complexion didn't look good stood in front of.

Her torso didn't have any shirt covering it, but her bra's still attached and covering her chest. Her top that seemed to have a couple of small and large droplets of liquid stained the upper front which is why she took it off.

While washing her face, she silently thought of how glad, somehow, she is that what happened to her minutes ago occurred in the middle of the night instead of morning because it wouldn't just trouble her but also Akio.

She doesn't want to traumatize her sweet, adorable brother by witnessing the sight of her coughing out blood non stop until she collapses on the floor while writhing in pain.

It'd a be a little better if the adults, her parents were the one who saw her but sad part is, they're always the ones who leave first after preparing breakfast.

Letting out a sigh, the girl turns off the faucet and raises her head which resulted in seeing her own reflection on the mirror.

'I've been feeling extra tired, sleepy, and my appetite has rose up again.' [Y/n]'s lips slightly parted for a short moment. "My body is dying there."

Was the words she uttered so quietly with an unreadable emotions swirling in her eyes.

Her brows furrowed. "Until when...how much time do I still have? Will I be able to finish the things that's needed to do?" She mumbled her questions to herself with a conflicted expression.

"Everything will be fine." She tells herself as she takes the clean shirt that's hanging on the bathtub and wears it. 'Since It's unknown how much time I still have and what'll happen after I die...' The girl exits the bathroom after picking up her blood stained shirt as a certain brunette's face flashed through her mind.

She took quick but light footsteps back to her room and gently closed the door behind her. "Seems like I need to speed things up a little." She muttered, eyes meeting the number – time on the rectangular shape clock that's sitting on her desk.

4:26 AM

With a sigh, she let herself fall on the mattress of her bed and laid on her left side while hugging the giant teddy bear in her arms.

"I still have three more hours...befo..sch..." and just like that, [Y/n] had drifted off to sleep without even managing to finish her own words.

Morning...

The [L/n] siblings both sat across each other on the table and enjoyed their breakfast that their mother cooked.

"Big sis," Akio called with one of cheeks round like a squirrel. He chewed and swallowed his food (omelette rice) before continuing on as he was taught like that. "You have dark circles under your eyes!" He bluntly pointed out without beating around the bush. (Like sister and brother).

"Oh, but don't worry. You're still pretty." He adds quickly while [Y/n] only watches in amusement as her little brother scolds her with a subtle smile present on her face.

"BUT!! You really have to take care of yourself! I told you that before already." He huffed, brows furrowing while his big innocent eyes glinted with clear worry and concern in them. "What if you go back to the hospital again, huh?"

"Akio," Putting her chin under the palm of her hand the female goes, "I appreciate your concern since you're just looking out for your big sis like I do to you, but I don't think this is the right time." With half lidded eyes and a playful smile.

Akio peered at her through squinted eyes then raised a brow, curious as to why his big sister is avoiding such an important topic whilst being laid back.

"If you don't hurry up, we'll both be late." [Y/n] answered the boy's question in a beaming smile. He whipped his head to the side to see and confirm the current time on the clock that's hanging on the living room.

Turning his head back, he next noticed his sister's clean plate. It caused for him to continue but in a hurry this time to finish his own as his cheeks turned flushed when he heard a laugh coming from his sibling.

While on her way to school after separating with her brother, [Y/n] felt her phone vibrate several times inside her skirt's pocket which she grabbed and checked who texted her as well as to see what's written.

With a chuckle and a little shake of her head, [Y/n] closes her phone and puts it back inside her a pocket with a smile adorning her face.

"Who's got you laughing and smiling so prettily early in this morning?" A familiar voice spoke from behind with a yawn.

Turning around as she found the voice very familiar, [Y/n]'s eyes met with emerald ones. 'Rikka...' her loyal and trustworthy best friend's name instantly came in mind.

The girl with ash grey hair and blue at the tip slightly narrowed her eyes. 'What's with that sad expression and gaze?' She gets something out of her pockets and hands it to the [h/c] girl in front of her.

"Cheer up, [L/n]." Rikka says with a toothy smile before waving her hand and walking on ahead.

Watching the bleached haired girl get further away, [Y/n] stifles a laugh when she saw the lollipop on her hand. She puts it inside her back and catches up with the other female (her friend).

"Thanks for the candy." She hummed while Rikka flips her hair with a smirk and say, "No problem. Just don't go falling for me."

"Ha?" Was what the other girl could utter in a blank face making for the dual tone haired to laugh and point her finger.

"Your face 's hilarious!" She said, laugh dying after a few more seconds. "I was just joking, besides you don't look like the type to fall so easily, and you already have Mitsuya."

[Y/n] repeats but in a deep voice this time along with a bewildered expression.

"Oh?" Rikka blinked her eyes. "As expected, rumors are just rumors." She muttered whilst the puzzled look on the [h/c] girl's face vanished when she put two and two together.

Mitsuya and [L/n] are dating! Is what the rumors that's been circling around their school since they started middle school. The two mentioned teens did deny the news and told the curious people/students that they're just friends.

Some believed their statement, some didn't, and some...didn't really cared at all.

It was a bit chaotic when their group heard or learned the (fake) news. On one of the Toman meetings, Pah and Peh asked them out of curiosity when the meeting was over and Mikey, their leader, just happened to hear it since he was heading towards their direction with Draken not too far behind.

That incident – memory (two years ago) was real lively.

"You don't have time for dating anyways." Rikka's voice got her out her thoughts. She stared at her with

an expectant look in her eyes whilst they both walk.

"That's weird...how do I know that?" The two toned haired girl scratches her head before looking all bewildered as she turned her head. "Did we have a conversation like this before?"

Lips curling up as her eyes went half lidded, [Y/n] replies, "Deja vu?" The enigmatic smile on her face made the confused girl to blink her eyes then nod her head in response after a moment of silence.

Finally arriving at school, the two teens both got changed out of their shoes and while doing so, Takashi Mitsuya arrives.

With a smile on his face, he greets the two girls before completely facing [Y/n] and asking if she didn't sleep well again while Rikka stares at them, mostly the lilac haired boy.

His eyes were full of worry but when he heard the [h/c] female let out a hearty laugh after telling him that she's alright, his gaze softened and he showed an endearing smile.

"Oho?" Rikka let out as she was familiar with that kind of look on Mitsuya's face. Tender and full of affection. If she didn't knew any better, she'd just think he's kind, a truly warm-hearted boy who's simply caring to his friends, no, no.

That's a look of someone who's in love due to his love-struck gaze which faltered then disappeared when [Y/n] met his eyes and told him to change his shoes so the three of them could get going and head to their rooms before the bell rings.

"Since when did you to two become close?" Takashi asked as the three of them walked up the stairs, but with him walking a few steps behind them.

"Six and a half minutes ago." Rikka replied, her arm slinging over [Y/n]'s shoulder. "We just immediately clicked that's why we're now buddies, hehe."

His taken aback state vanished when he saw a smile appear on the [h/c] girl's face. It doesn't seem like she's uncomfortable as her eyes lit up and showed happiness in them.

"I see." He chuckled as he failed to notice the glint of mischief on the emerald eyed girl.

"You know, I'm still curious about the person you were texting earlier since they made you laugh and smile so prettily." Rikka cooed, eyes shifting to glance at Takashi while they're now walking through the corridors.

It made her to almost burst out laughing when she saw the lilac haired boy almost bump himself to a wall when he was (eagerly) waiting to hear a reply.

While they came to a stop in front a classroom, Takashi and [Y/n], the bell rang just when the latter could say her reply.

"Let's hang out during lunch!" Rikka beamed, a hand raising to waved at them as she was starting to walk away. "See ya later!"

"That girl...seriously." The female regressor chuckled with her head slightly shaking left to right. "Oh, the teacher's almost here. Let's get to out seats, Takashi."

"Huh? Ah, yeah." Mitsuya smiles, his hand going on the back of his nape while he follows behind to their seat. 'I'm sure it's just one of the guys...or girls in the group.'

With the teacher starting his class after the students did their usual greeting, lavender eyes peered at a certain girl instead of paying attention to the lesson or teacher in front.

Resting his chin under his palm, he whispers under his breath as he finally looked ahead. "No need be jealous."
