Love Spell

If I was to write a spell,

To grab hold of you,

To keep you in my life,

I would not have to do much,

These feelings are bubbling up,

Flooding out and overflowing,

Deep inside of me,

Their energy provided,

My spell would be ready,

And I would simply confess.

Magic

Magic, does it really exist?

Or is it simply,

Sleight of hand,

A visual trick,

Is it simply,

An expression of desire,

Is it simply,

A heartfelt prayer,

To whatever may be watching,

But when I change the address,

To this god or that god,

A personality much more accommodating,

An emotion much more willing to indulge,

My heartfelt wish,

And when that being hears,

Which they would no doubt,

With all their power and wisdom,

Will they consider?

Its place in the universe?

Your heartfelt dream?

Will they weigh it out,

The pros and cons,

Will they send for approval,

From the affected parties,

And if everything fits oh so nicely,

Would they set things in motion?

Arrange the play just so,

With everyone doing their part,

And on that day,

When your desire climbs that hill,

Would a wish be granted that day?

Or is it simply sleight of hand,

A trick of mind,

When the gods above saw you coming,

Did they know what you wanted,

And from the very beginning,

They put you in that place,

Waiting for you to climb that hill,

Just so you could make that wish,

After which the heavens would smile,

And make a dream come true.
