Reign's POV
'It come like happiness neva inna the package fimi.... a dis one ting backa di adda fimi! Mi mussa shit inna church yard'
"God yuh see and know seh mi a try, so a wa dis now man!" I looked to the sky while doing my version of a prayer.
I just couldn't understand why my life had to be so hard.
'A man see the riches and think everything criss ... a pity dem nuh know the price of it all.'
Money is the most contradicting thing ever. It makes your life better in one sense and within the blink of an eye, it makes one's life a living horror movie.
I didn't ask to be born in this and instead of scurrying down the path of my father, I chose to work hard and build a legacy of my own, one that 'No police cyaan hall an pull mi fa!' But, how far can one escape the past sins of the bloodline?
'Mi Pa, Uncle and now mi long la'as fucking Cousin?'
"Mama P nuh cut out fi dem life deh!" I shouted, using my hands to sweep everything off the desk unto the floor. "Fuckkk!"
Casidy came running in looking concerned. Her eyes widened with shock and the tears stained her cheeks.
"Come ere..." I pushed back the chair from around the desk, leaving enough space for her to join me on my lap.
She cried the whole time after leaving the police station. We didn't even change or anything. She was still in her dress, and I, in my suit.
She sat in my lap and her eyes glossed in tears.
"Wa wi go do Reign? Mummy..."
"Shhhhhh...." I held her chin and concealed her lips with my finger. "Mi no know how mi go dweet Casidy, but mi promise yuh, mi affi fix dis..."
She cried even more. I held her so tight while thinking of a way forward.
Casidy's POV
Talk about tragedy, this was way beyond!
My own mother was there in some musty cell, forced to face all sorts of danger, paying the penalty for a crime I committed.
'Poor mummy!'
How were we gonna handle this?
My mind rewinded to earlier today.

"Reign stop nuh!" I giggled, trying to push him off me. He had invaded the dressing room begging for a kiss and 'whatever it would lead to.' I was in a fluffy white Robe about to get my make up on, which should've started 15 minutes ago, but this man was full of antics. "Yuh no know seh a bad luck fi see di bride before the wedding!"
He still insisted on taking the kiss.
"Just one likkle chups and mi gone.... mi promise!"
"The rain already set up fi fall and yuh ago add more bad luck pon it! My gosh man!"
"Cho, yaa one a dem wid di superstitious foolinish!" He hissed his teeth and shook his head.
We were up against the wall with his chest against mine and his knee pressed against my lady parts. His eyes pierced into mine and for a moment I was lost in love.
He snatched my lips while caressing my breast. And If it wasn't for that loud bang on the door, then the 'whatever it would lead to' part would've surely played out.
"Unu betta tek it out and open up di door! Unu no see di time?" Kelly shouted. "Tina out ya a wait how long fi start and unu two horny goat in deh a rub front!"
We both burst into laughter.
"Lata yaa!" He chuckled. "No waan yuh friend buss dung di door pon wi!"
I straightened my self and opened the door to 'Madam Miserable' who made way for Reign to pass.
"Caa mi waan fi know if unu couldn't wait couple hours!" She hissed her teeth and rolled her eyes. "A so it sweet?"
A naughty grin plastered my face and in that moment I felt like the 'blushing Brittany Goffe'.
"No badda ansa dat... try go wash up before di lady come deal wid..."
"Girl wi neva did a do ntn! Cho, yuh too extra!"
**
"Repeat after me, I Casidy Brown take you, Reign Whyte, to be my lawfully wedded husband ...." the Minister of Religion said, as the sound of a siren rudely interrupted.
Heads swung back and the guests mumbled. The nerves swiftly crept in. I knew exactly what this was about and I prayed so hard for this day 'not' to come!

Reign reeled me in so closely and whispered, "No matter what.... You were never apart of this! Its all on me... yere dat!"
I looked to Mummy, who clung to Charity, frightened as ever.
A well dressed gentleman walked down the isle and towards us, with three other policemen trailing behind.
'Dem no mussi di bride and the bridesmaid!'
For a split second, it was like looking at a clearer duplication of Reign. And as he got closer, images from that night flashed and mu stomach felt queasy.
'Sass Chrisseee... a it dis!'
But who was this man? Surely another relative... Another brother? But he didn't mention a brother! Or perhaps another uncle?
'Right now mi confused!'
"Good evening everyone... Detective Rutherland here." He blinked his eye to Reign.
'They know each other? What the fu....'
"I'm in pursuit of a Ms. Paulette Josephs..." He turned to Mummy saying. He clearly did his research.
"This is she..." Mummy said, shoving Charity in the arms of Kelly.
Tp and M&M stepped infront of her immediately.
" No boys, jts fine..." She parted them and stepped forward. "Yes officer"
"Ma'am you are under arrest for the Murder of Mr. John.... Rutherland..." He glanced back over at Reign.
'Am I missing something here'
"Yow mi ago end this right now..." Reign said, motioning towards the detective.
"Nooooo!" Mummy cried stepping forward with her hands out to be cuffed.
Reign was like a raging bull as Tp, M&M and I tried to restrain him. I knew we had to hold him with all we had because if he ever got loose, then it would definitely be a 'Blood Fest'.
"You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when questioned something that you later rely on in Court. Anything you do say may be given in evidence." Detective Rutherland said boastfully.
'Clearly him waan see Reign's capabilities.'
"Calm mi boy, It'll be ok. Unu tek care a each adda and mi likkle sunshine ova deh so!" She said so calmly. I don't know how she does it. She is a whole tower of courage.
Reign regained himself on cue of her words. He took out his cellphone and made a call.
Charity screamed and hollered as they escorted Mummy in cuffs away. My heart fell to the ground. Kelly tried her best to comfort her.
"Unu come get di car ready...M&M ... carry Kelly and Casidy uppa yaad, mek sure everything secure and stay outta sight!" Reign instructed. "Tp... C... come! Bethany, control.... yuh can manage?"
She shook her head, she was more than capable. With that being confirmed, we headed over to the station.
They held Mummy because she was the last person to be seen with John. They didn't have anything to tie her to murder other than a footage of her leaving the conference center with him and a her purse in his car that was found, with bullet holes, sunken in the 'Martha Brae River'
Which was hardly anything to hold on to her. But somehow the detective had been finding ways to make it stick.
I was mostly on the outside while Reign and his lawyer spoke with the Officers. The hours seem to fly past like minutes. I took the time to ensure that Charity was ok for the most part. Kelly managed to get her calm, gave her a bubble bath, something to eat and she was fast asleep in her room.
'Thank God!'
It was minutes to 8 and Reign came furious out of a room while Mr. Champagnie, his attorney trailed. I got up from the bench I sat on and joined them in the hallway.
"Its just for tonight Mr. Whyte. In the morning we'll proceed. Remember to send me the documents asap. Now Go home get yourself some rest!" He turned to make his exit. "Ma'am."
"Thankyou!" I expressed my gratitude.
"Come on... " he said through gritted teeth.
"What did they say?" I asked, trying to stay in the loop.
To my surprise, he walked past me and headed for the car.
'The fuck?'
The air in the car was razor sharp and no one spoke the whole way back.
'Dis way deeper than mi think!'

Overgrowth
I never thought I'd be killed by butterflies. But here I am... Edmon Valli was a smuggler, before a freak storm threw him off course and stranded him on a desert island smack in the middle of an uncharted monster zone. Trying his best to survive, or possibly even escape, he stumbles across the find of a lifetime: an unclaimed dungeon crystal. This is a dungeon-ish story, but without reincarnation or transmigration. I started it as a whim for NaNoWriMo so I may drop it any time after that... or I might not. My current plan is to write until I can reach some sort of conclusion and call it 'volume one'. I hope someone enjoys reading it for now! All comments, corrections, and criticism welcome.

Yet, life knows to shit on you when things are just getting good. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello, author-san here! This is my first story, set up in a fantasy world. It's based on the medieval and steam era where magic is rare and alchemy is used widely used as a weapon by people. There would be lots of action, adventure, betrayal, tragedy, romance, etc. ahead. Warnings-The mc is a bit mean and foul-mouthed, introvert. There would be strong language and lots of monologue narration by the MC. The stories are fast-paced and progressing faster. The chapters update would be unstable, depending on my daily life. You would get fast updates... or slow. Also, English isn't my first language. So don't expect perfect grammar :( P.S. - I would like some constructive critique and feedback! It fills my motivation gauge and increases that rate of chapter/week. (/>3
