《Judah Judas Adventures》Chapter 36 - Hunting fishes

After a few minutes, me and Big Gus we have arrived at the village and we started to search for a market or a building that sells fishing tackle, we could have bought some fishes, but Big Gus explained to me on the way that fish could only be bought by noble or royal families. "Stupid Royal and Noble Family!" I tell myself when I notice a stand with a few dozen fish that would be tasty dishes if they would ever be cooked by Diana God bless cooking.
We both end up in front of a store that sells fishing gear that we really need to catch an aquatic animal, which will soon become a delicacy for me and our teammates. The cashier in this building asks us what we want to buy.
"Welcome to Albert's Fishery! Do you want a good fish or tools to catch one?" says the cashier who is most likely the one who is owning this business.
"Tools, my friend," says Big Gus to that cashier. "Two fishing rod, a bottle of worms and two fishing net."
"Sure, my fishing mate. All of these would cost you twenty gold coins." says the cashier to Big Gus.
Big Gus put twenty gold coins to the counter and the manager of this building goes into the back to get us the tools we needed to catch fishes who would most likely be cooked by Emily or Big Gus because we do not want to waste those fishes on Fiona catastrophic cooking ability. The cashier handed us the tool we needed to fishing and both of us left his building and we headed to the river where we have to practice the fishing arts. But before leaving the village, Big Gus decided to stop at a building that prepares products such as bread and cakes to buy something that will keep us hungry. Big Gus bought six loaves of bread, but also something strange, such as some meat on a few slices of toast in a wood-fired oven with vegetables and fruits. Such a thing is called pizza and is a delicacy prepared especially in the great Roman Empire of the East.
After that, we left the village we have stopped and we headed to the nearest river possible. To arrive there we had to walk a few minutes on a route where a lot of carriages carrying turtles. Aquatic animals that have shells like skin, but look like fish. Such aquatic animals are difficult to catch, so they are valuable and rare. I even noticed a carriage carrying not only fish turtles but also fish, which means that that person, if I am to pick up my clothes, is definitely a royal carrier. Big Gus and I get to that place, and the river we stopped at is as deep as my height and as long as the nearest ocean.
Big Gus and I sit on the edge of the river, Big Gus assembles his fishing rod because the cashier handed us the disassembled tools, and I started assembling mine as well, watching Big Gus carefully as he does this assembly. In a few minutes, my blood relative and I would finish the fishing rods, stab the worms into the fishing rod hook and throw them into the river, then wait until the fish is caught in the trap, and when that happens, we have a pretty heavy task. light, but also heavy at the same time, we will have to bring it ashore and put it in the net. Big Gus whispered to me that we can't talk out loud because we risk scaring the fish and those around us. I nodded that I understood and waited for the moment when a fish bit that dead worm because I stabbed it in cold blood.

Thirty minutes have passed so far, and no fish sign has been seen. Me and Big Gus were bored so we have decided to whisper at each other to make the time pass.
"I got a question. Do you have a battle skill?"
"Yes," he whispered at me. "Why do you ask though ?"
"Well. I think I had seen my battle skill while me and Fiona we were fighting some enemies."
"I see. And what was that battle skill about?"
"I don't really know but it made me feel more aggressive and thirsty for revenge."
"Aha. You got the furious skill, just like me and your father," whispered Big Gus while he is checking his fishing rot to be sure if a fish had caught the worm.
"Furious skill?"
"Yeah. A skill which can make you very strong and, optionally, it gives avenger thirst. But this skill only works on warriors... Of course, it can works on the wizard, though. But it works more efficiently on the warriors."
"So, how do you control that skill?"
"Just attack anyone until they will die or they get knocked out... But I am surprised you can kill people without feeling the guilt, even if you are a young age."
"Those people deserve to die, and you know it. Plus, what happens in a war, remains in a war."
"Where did you heard that? From a book ?"
"Yes."
"Well, you are like your mother. She always liked reading books and other kinds of stuff like ancient scripts or something. She always thought those kinds of ancient scripts could help her gain new magic speels or help her discover something unmatched in the world. He once discovered in such a book that there are planets in the night sky and that there is life on another planet. Isn't that a funny thing? I mean life up there in the cloudy sky, everyone knows that the sky is full of stars and not planets!"
After he said that, both of us has noticed something at Big Gus fishing rot, he has started to move. Big Gus, fished as fast as he could and pulled the fish ashore. With just one move backwards, that fish flew out of the river, the needle in which the worm had been stabbed clinging to his lips. When the fish reached the shore, I noticed what it looked like. This fish looks like a carp, but its size is quite small, ie somewhere at fifteen centimetres. Big Gus was not happy with his capture, so he decides to put it in the net instead of throwing it back into the river. After all, a fish is a fish.
"... Did she ever keep those ancient scripts?" I ask Big Gus after he threw the fishing rod back into the river with a new stabbed worm.
"Yes. She always kept them in an abandoned house, not far from the city. Maybe after the war, we will go together to see those kinds of scripts, but why are you interested in those things?" whispered Big Gus to me to remind me, we are at fishing and we have to whisper because we do not want to see the fishes leave this area.

"Well... I just wanted to see what they are about."
"Alright."
After that, both of us didn't talk anymore and we continued the fishing activity until the moon would be in the sky. After the moon arrived, me and Big Gus we have watched a few good fishes, some of them were caught by me using my rod, and Big Gus, who had enough, has decided to use his ability or battle skill, to jump into the water and catch the fishes out of there. And he caught some of them, but more they did not measure more than thirteen or thirty centimetres. The fishes they had caught were in total somewhere at twelve. Enough to have good sea fish food for two straight days. We have gone to the bunker with a carriage because in the night, the creatures of the forest are awake and they are much brutal and dangerous than the one into the day. While we were travelling to our in that carriage, I was looking at the moon who has appeared in the sky and I wondered if they are really alive things out there on the moon or beyond there.
While I was in the carriage, Big Gus decided to start a discussion, maybe to pass the time or the fact that the atmosphere was starting to feel a bit embarrassing.
"When you have realized you are a wizard?"
"To be honest. When I was somewhere at five or six years old, a girl has made fun of me and I did something horrible to her. I say to her get out of my face, and she flies a few meters away." I say to Big Gus feeling ashamed for what I did back then, but she deserves it, she stole my eggs for breakfast an entire week, she took my books, and she also spits on my face because I tried to talk to her.
"Did she survive?"
"Yes she did not die because someone, who was probably a wizard too, has watched her right when she was about to hit the castle window. At least that's what I heard when the nuns talked in a room and talked to me about what I did. However, I was not punished then, in fact, we had both been punished, me and that girl, we were punished for washing the chicken coop for a whole year, feeding the animals for almost two years and bathing all the children, the ones who are one or two years old, however, we were helped by them when we did this work for a year. After that punishment, the girl has started to bully me rarely."
"Aha... So that girl loves you." says the Big Gus making that face that every father makes when his son is in love with a girl.
"What?! No." I say to my uncle. "Plus that girl loves girls."
"Oho. She's that kind of girl... Well, don't worry, you will find your perfect soulmate one day... If you ever need a piece of advice from a girl... Call Emily, she can deal with those things because she is a woman, married and she reads a lot of novels about love, so she mostly knows how-"
"Wait, Emily is married?!" I shouted to Big Gus because I didn't know that my aunt is married to someone.
"Yes. He is married to a handsome guy, who cannot fight, but he can handle the papers. That guy is compatible with Emily, and those two make a good pair to be honest with ya'."
"So, who is the guy she is married to?"
"The guy who gives people jobs in our Kingdom. Those rich men called him a secretary, but we, poor peasants, call him our hope because, without him, we won't have a job which could help us gains gold for beer, wine, meat, or a blanket."
"So you and Emily... Were not married?"
"Married? A brother and a sister being married? This thing is disgusting, my dear newbie squire! If anyone marries their own family members, they have to go to the guillotine."
"Guillotine? A punishment tool, right? The one which cuts your neck?"
"Yeah... That one... You are a smart kid at your age. Your parents must be proud of your knowledge."
"Thanks."
After a few minutes of talking, the carriage stopped, and the one who derived the carriage, told us we have arrived at the destination. Me and Big Gus, left the carriage with the fishes, I paid the carriage driver a few coins of gold, and he immediately left driving his carriage. Big Gus entered the bunker with the fishes and she tells the girl that he has caught some fishes. Immediately I enter the bunker, and after me, I close the door because it is cold outside, and inside it is barely warm because Fiona and Emily and I just found good wood to make a good fire at the brick stove in the bunker.

Quebracho: The Legend of Two Heroes
After a violent and tough battle, you recover in an infirmary with your fellow soldiers, or in a more relatable scenario, visit your friend's house after a hard day of studying. You’d expect that both of them would play out normally for the most part, right? Well... Maxon Cortez and Jason McGuire had the same thoughts too. Yet, fate has different plans for them: Max ends up in an eerie location he doesn’t recognize and Jace gets transported to an entirely different world that works like a video game (sort of) by walking into a portal. As they travel along the lands, the two of them will encounter other individuals of many kinds, make friends new and old, gain powerful abilities, experience spectacular adventures, and obtain priceless treasures. However, Maxon and Jason will unknowingly become integral parts of a nefarious conspiracy that, if successful, will plunge both of their worlds into eternal chaos and darkness. So it’s up to them and their allies to thwart it. Side-Note: I’ll admit right off the bat that this story will be my first attempt at writing a LitRPG, so the in-game mechanics and terminology will probably look weird and be even nonsensical. If you notice something that’s out-of-place or just flat out wrong, I apologize. Not only that, it's been a while since I've wrote anything and thus I'm a little bit rusty. So please bear with me. New chapters once every Saturday or Sunday. Also, I'll be fine-tuning the grammar, punctuation, and spelling when I have the time. So expect a lot of random edits. This story is also available on ScribbleHub.

Added a few more details to the life of Aarav and stuff like that. Might wanna take a look at it. P.S. - Guys this is my first story. I am trying to learn English better but since I don't have enough money for books, courses or tutors, so your criticism and support will have to do. This is my first time, so please be gentle. P.P.S. - I selected harem in tags because generally people who like it tend to be more chill. Right now I have a rough sketch till the second volume and there are only two female leads.

Reincarnated As A Benevolent Tyrant
NOTICE: This story is under rewrite. New novel has been published. Search **RE: Tyranny** in Royalroad for the new novel.Link- Re: Tyranny Thank You! ------------------------ "Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory." What a brilliant line, isn't it? James was a boy who had nothing to worry about. A happy family, a nice childhood. What's more to ask? But one day, everything changed. He lost everything in the blink of an eye. The only thing left for him were the memories and dreams of the past. Trying to cope up with the loss, he cut all ties with the outside world and became a shut-in, having no one left to call his own or to rely upon. There was nothing left for him in this world, but still he lived and soon found a purpose in his life, which lead him to create something that could change the world. And on the very day when his dream project was about to come to the light, he lost his life, trying to save a little girl from an unfortunate accident. "Will I ever be remembered...? I wish... someone would." These were the last word James mumbled before his conscious faded into darkness. But his life didn't end there, as he is transmigrated into the body of an arrogant, worthless Duke's son in some unknown land with no memories about who is or any idea about where he is. In an era of political turmoil and civil strife, the Duke's son is forced to prove his worth for inheriting the title. Will he be able to accept the new reality and prove himself by leading this country into a prosperous future? Or will he cease to the pressure of his past and lose everything once more? Disclaimer: This is not a power-fantasy or a 'feel-good' story. If you feel a protagonist should never lack agency (especially in early story) or make compromises because of difficult circumstances, then this fiction is probably not for you. It is a story that delves deep into real world sociological/psychological subjects and explores many topics of gray morality. I wrote it because I like stories that make me think more about the world around us, not to detach myself from reality. Some aspects you can expect based on the tags include:- [Kingdom Building]: political drama, geopolitical/geoeconomic strategy- [Army Building]: massive battles featuring in-depth planning, combined arms, and operational logistics- [Identity Crisis]: someone translated into a whole different world having to rebuild their identity and life aims The story starts off slowly, more like a slice of life than action-adventure, but I guarantee you it will get there. For those who want to skip the slow part, start from Chapter - 35 (Beginning of The End) (The whole Disclaimer section is copied from Aorii as I am too busy writing the complete story.) And yes, just for General Knowledge, James will become OP throughout the story. He is not some legendary guy who will pull out Excalibur & conquer the entire world. Update Schedule - One chapter a day. This novel is also available on Scribble Hub. And again, I humbly thank you for reading it. I hope you stick throughout the journey.
