Allison laughs and I smile.
"What's up?" Allison asks.
"Alexa doesn't look at me the same. I don't know if I did something wrong." I say.

I grab the pen off the counter and put the folder down.
"There's someone else." Alexa says as I start to sign my name.
My eyes are welling up
As you admit there's someone new
I stop writing and put the pen down.
It's my move, fight or flight?
"I'm gonna have Liam look over this." I say shutting the folder.
"Are you fucking serious? You don't need a lawyer! There's nothing bad in there, are you stupid?" Alexa says.
"Well, I wasted 6 years of my life being with you. So, I must be. You want it so bad, you'll fucking wait." I say.
"You're acting like it's not your fault I had to find someone new. It's like you didn't want to keep me." Alexa says.
"You know what I didn't do? I didn't step out on my wife who had been trying to fix and keep our marriage together. I DID think about our son and how he shouldn't have to grow up in 2 different houses." I say.
"I tried, I really did. It's hard to keep trying when you aren't making progress." I say.
I sigh and go upstairs.
Time Skip
"Why hasn't mommy been home lately?" Nate asks.
"We're having some issues right now and I'm not sure she'll be back." I say.
"What happened?" Nate asks.
"Mommy lied to me and you. She wants to be with someone else over us." I say.
You tell me it ain't what it seems
"Mommy lies all the time. And says says she's gonna leave all the time. What's the difference?" Nate says.
Why does he knows this? He shouldn't know this.
"This time it's actually happening." I say.
"Oh..." Nate says.
"That's why the clothes are everywhere?" Nate asks.

There's clothes thrown on the balcony
"Yeah." I say quietly.
He hugs me tightly and I smile.
"We'll be okay." He says.
"I hope so." I say.
The door opens and Alexa comes in.
"Hey." Alexa says.
He stares at Alexa for a few minutes and turns his head. Alexa looks at me and shakes her head. She goes upstairs and I follow her.
"You just had to make my own son hate me." Alexa says.
"I told him what was going on, I can't control his emotions." I say.
Alexa shakes her head and opens the closet door.
"Why do you smell like that? Oh, you went to go see him." I say.
And you smell like perfume out a magazine
"Where are my clothes?" Alexa asks.
"I put it in a bag." I say.
"Where's the bag?" Alexa asks.
"You got about... 5 minutes until the garbage man comes." I say looking at my watch.
I'm throwing all your shit outta my window
"You fucking bitch, I'm gonna kill you!" Alexa says running outside.
I feel like me and Nate would be okay with Alexa. Like, if I never met her in the first place.

"So there's nothing bad in these papers. The only thing that's made me raise an eyebrow was the custody section. She wants you to have full custody of Nathan." Liam says.

2 weeks later...
"Charlie!" Nate shouts running inside.
Tommy laughs and I smile.
"Are you okay? You need money or something?" Tommy asks.
"I'm good." I say.
"Just let me know, I got you." Tommy says
"You're the best little brother someone could ask for." I say.
"Only by 7 minutes!" Tommy says.
I laugh and he smiles.
30 minutes later...
"I just had the worst day of my life." A woman says sitting beside me.
Now there's someone at my door

"Not worst than mine, I just finalized my divorce." I say.
"Oh, yeah? My boyfriend broke up with me for some married celebrity." The woman says.
"And who is this celebrity?" I ask.
They've got eyes like mine, a pretty smile
"I think her name's Alexa. She's married to some producer. Had a kid and everything." She says.
And they've been crying for a while
I put my drink down and look at her. I stare at her and she turns to face me.
'Cause they also didn't know
"That's you?!" She asks.

I nod and we both laugh.

"We're gonna be good friends." She says.

"Maybe a little more." I say.
