《Chosen (Lloyd X Reader)》Taking Back
Advertisement
Ever since the Boarding School incident a few days ago and Lloyd's newfound control over some parts of his powers, I thought maybe it was best to finally try to figure them out. So, I'm sitting in the Dojo, trying to use my powers.
And has been doing this for the past hour.
At most, I've created small energy orbs, but never as something as powerful, I created as the day Pythor managed to find his awful way on the ship. Everything else has been... nothing crazy.
Lloyd simply stares at me in awe, seeing me form multiple energy orbs but none to the success of before. "I'm sure you got this Y/n! You got this"
I concentrate my power into the orb as its energy begins to glow through my arms. This has to work... Eventually, the power begins to surge throughout my body. It begins to overwhelm me as my eyes begin to glow as well. "I-I'm so close..."
Though it becomes too much and I get thrown back into the wall. "Gah!"
I rub the back of my head as Cole runs over to me, making sure I'm okay. "You're not hurt, right?"
"I'm fine luckily. Though, my head is definitely going to hurt for a while."
Zane walks over to us, patting my head. "Glad you're okay though. You did well with your training and I'm sure you will progress further in the future. For now, it's perhaps best you take a break before you hurt yourself further heh."
"Right, thanks heh," I say to him as I stand up. "You know, these powers thing is a lot harder than what you guys made it look like. This is why I am just moral support for when Lloyd trains with his powers."
The blonde smiles, walking over to me. "I'm sure you'll get it soon Y/n! After all, powers are hard to control... And of course, somehow had an easier time with them."
Kai smiles, brushing his fingers through his hair. "That's because I'm just that great!"
"Or because Sensei kept on hitting you with his staff so you could train with them more."
Luckily for everyone, Jay comes into the Dojo whining about something. "Ugh... I hate this living situation! We have to take a bus all the way to the other side of Ninjago City just to get here and back home! Not to mention our apartment is so tiny that we can barely live inside it!"
"Woah, slow down. What brought this on?" Cole asks.
"Let's just say a series of unfortunate events happened like Sensei walking in on me in the bathroom, I had to take a shower in the river, and I have no space for video games!"
Kai sighs, knowing the feeling. "Look, it's the best we can afford right now. There's not much we can do exactly. We're not rich and we just have to take what we can get Jay."
"I know, but I hate this! I just want the Bounty back!"
"Well, what if we do get it back?" Lloyd asks as we all turn to him.
"What do you mean?"
"My father is always launching attacks at us. What if it's finally time we fight back and get back our home?"
"And how do you suppose we go about that?" Zane asks curiously, wondering what Lloyd is thinking up.
"We can always ambush them, take them by surprise when their guard is down, and then boom! We attack with everything we got and take back our home!"

I smile upon hearing that. He's really willing to go up against his Dad just to get back our home. "I say we do it!"
Kai turns to me concerned. "I don't like how you agreed with that. But... maybe it could work. After all, this might be our chance to finally have our old lives return to normal."
Zane thinks for a few moments. "Our probability of winning is low... Though, that doesn't mean it's impossible."
"We're getting back the Bounty!" Jay jumps up in joy and starts to dream of being back in his own bed.
"We'll get Nya to help us out then so we know where to find them and we'll go tonight. The sooner the better," Cole says with a smile.
As we continue to discuss the plan, Sensei Wu walks into the room, hearing everything we're saying. Hearing everything, he becomes more and more displeased. We don't hear him enter though so to catch our attention, he slams his staff onto the ground causing all of us to jump up and quickly get into a line.
You do not want to mess with Sensei when he's mad.
I'm the first to speak, though I am a bit hesitant as I know he's been holding out on telling me things. "Y-Yes Sensei?"
"When were you all going to tell me you are going to take back the Bounty?! It is incredibly dangerous to do so, and it might trigger the Final Battle!"
"B-But Sensei, we're not in the best living conditions! We're so packed in that small apartment and-"
Jay gets cut off by Sensei though. "You all are getting reckless... Just because you won some fights against Garmadon does not mean you all are ready to fight back against him. He is stronger than all of you combined, especially now that he has the Megaweapon!"
"But even if he does have the weapon, we don't have to defeat him to get back our home!" Kai says to him, starting to get angry.
"Our home is wherever we're all together. We cannot risk this fight! You all are not ready for this. Who came up with this plan anyway? Hmm?"
I notice out of the corner of my eye Lloyd starting to get nervous, knowing he hates getting in trouble with his uncle. So, I decided to take the fall for him.
"I did Sensei."
...
"What?"
"I did it."
"Y/n, no-"
"It's okay Lloyd, you don't have to cover for me. But yes, I did it Sensei. And we're going to do this plan. We need our home back and a good place for us to grow up in. We can't live in that small apartment forever."
"Y/n..." He groans in frustration. "I thought you out of all people would understand that this is an unwise choice. I will not allow this to happen."
"I'm sorry Sensei but we are doing this whether you like it or not."
"No. I will not allow this to happen. You all will stay home. That is an order."
Something in me just snaps as I shut my eyes tight. "Sensei we're going to get our home back so stop trying to stop us! We're going no matter what!"
If the room wasn't quiet before, it definitely was now. I had never raised my voice with Sensei and even he is shocked.
"Sensei, you've been hiding things from me and hiding truths! I know about my fans, I'm starting to learn about my past self, and yet you refuse to tell me anything! I need answers Sensei! Please!"

He just stays silent though.
I groan in frustration before looking at everyone. "Come on, let's go get our dragons."
And, just like that, we're off, leaving Sensei alone in the Dojo.
~
All six of us watch the Bounty from afar, carefully watching all of the snakes aboard it. We managed to find out where they are locating thanks to Nya's detective skills and her way around a computer.
Still don't understand how technology works though. I would hate to see a world with technology because I would not fit in at all.
Kai looks around the corner, seeing that everything is in the all-clear. Once he knows it's secure, he motions for us to scatter around the ship, making sure to surround it and secure it.
We all run in different directions while Lloyd stays with me, teaching him the ways of being a ninja. And the best way to do so is with hands-on experience. Lloyd has finally shown that he's ready to take on action, especially with the last two action fights he's been a part of. Took a lot of convincing though which is ironic because I'm the one who trained the ninjas.
Anyway, we run behind some crates that are waiting to be brought onto the ship as the snakes refuel their supplies. I look past the crates, making sure the coast is clear. I see snakes loading some boxes onto the ship and some snakes begin to walk toward our direction.
My eyes widen a bit, realizing our cover might be blown. Lloyd sees my panicked eyes as he looks past the crates, seeing why. He quickly looks around, and an idea pops into his head.
Though, the others don't see what's happening on our end. The boys speak through comms that are within their hoods, trying to figure out what's happening. "Guys, there are snakes heading towards Y/n's and Lloyd's location. What do we do?" Kai asks, trying to figure out a way to get us out of this hard situation.
Zane looks over at where we are, trying to figure out something. "I can't find any way to help them out... If they get caught though, they would at least be okay. From what we've seen, Lord Garmadon doesn't want to hurt them."
~
Somehow Lloyd and I managed to get on the Bounty before the ship flew up into the sky. Lloyd's and I's eyes widen when we look over the edge, seeing the ship is hundreds of feet high. We quickly hide behind some barrels, hoping not to get found by anyone or else it could ruin everything we worked hard for.
I look at Lloyd as he looks at me, scared and wondering what the next move is. I pull up my mask a bit, giving him a reassuring smile. He relaxes upon seeing it and I pull down my mask as I grab his hand. We stand up and I look past the barrels, making sure the coast is clear before making a move. If the Bounty's layout hasn't changed then that means we can hide in one of the rooms.
The second there aren't any snakes nearby, I start running below deck dragging Lloyd behind me. Thanks to us being ninjas, our movements are quiet and swift meaning we make it to the Ninja's former bedrooms. We take a moment to listen, to make sure no one is walking nearby or will hear us in the room, and sigh in relief. I look at Lloyd and smile. "Seems like we managed to get this far, maybe just us two have a chance to get the Bounty back from him."
"Yeah! Maybe we don't need the others to get our home back! After all, I say we make a pretty good team. We did manage to get on the ship without them. So maybe we can do more without them heh."
"We really do make a good team. But we definitely need their help to defeat all the snakes on this ship if we want it to return back to our home. The only way to do so is by keeping Garmadon distracted enough for them to do-"
That's when the said person walks into the very same room we're in. We simply stare at each other.
"Uh, hi Garmadon!"
"Hi, Dad!"
"uh... hi you two..."
Lloyd then quickly runs up to Garmadon hugging him tightly. "Run Y/n!"
I give Lloyd a quick glance before bolting out of the room. "It was nice seeing you Garmadon!"
And just like that, Garmadon is left in a state of confusion, wondering what just happened.
~
I hide under the desk, hoping not to get found by any of the snakes patrolling the area. If I get caught, then it's over for us and we're not going to be able to reclaim our home.
I hear someone stop outside the door but continue on which lets me relax for a moment. Now how am I going to get out of this?... Everyone is else on the ground because they couldn't get on board on time... Lloyd is with his father because he distracted him enough for me to escape... Ugh... I get myself into these situations way too often.
I pull up my mask as I take a moment to breathe and let myself relax. My tense body and muscles manage to loosen up and my breathing manages to even itself out. I run my fingers through my hair as loose strands fall in front of my face. I take out my hair tie and put it on my wrist before looking at my hands that's full of blisters and cuts. I usually gain many of them whenever I train too much with my fans.
"I have power... Power I don't understand and yet... In dire situations, they come out... Just what is my power exactly?"
I try to make my hands glow but nothing happens as they remain the same. I shake my head, wondering what else I need to do to get a grasp of a fraction of the power I apparently have. Though, I know it's not going to happen right now because I'm on a mission and unfortunately, I'm not feeling in a too dangerous situation. After all, I've come to learn that Garmadon doesn't want me hurt which is sweet.
Deciding to try to do something to take back the Bounty, I stand up but in the process, hit myself on the head of the desk. "Ow!"
At that moment, a drawer opens up in the desk causing a journal to fall out of it and land in front of me.
After rubbing my head, I finally notice the journal and my pain turns into curiosity. "Huh?... What's this?"
I get out from underneath the desk as I pick up the book and sit on the chair. I read the front of the cover as my eyes slightly widen. "The Journal of Captain Soto... So this ship really did belong to them before... Maybe this will give me some answers I need..."
I open the journal, opening up to a random page. I begin to read it, noticing that Captain Soto writes detailed notes of his travels on the Endless Sea. He writes so much for only seeing water every day... I wonder what he's searching for.
I flip to another page, trying to see if I find any references to what the revived Captain said about me the last time I saw him. I flip to another page, to another, and so on, as I try to frantically find a page that mentions me within the book, but for some reason there's nothing.
I throw the book down on the desk out of frustration and slump down on the chair. "You know, maybe it's time I just uh give up, you know? It's like trying, but easier."
I shake my head and look back at the book, seeing that it somehow opened up to a page. I look at the page as the word, 'Megami,' is written in large letters and my eyes widen slightly. I pick up the book as my hands glow brightly and the second I trace my fingers on the word, the book glows purple. The words inside of it shift into different ones, ones that form sentences and paragraphs above Megami.
About me.
My eyes widen slightly as I look stare at the book as it finishes shifting into its final form.
It was magically protected... And it revealed itself to me.
It's only a page but it's more than enough. More than enough to help me answer some questions.
The page reads:
The legend says that Y/n Megami was once a powerful ϱ̸̡̡̛̮̮͚̳͕̩̭̫̜͕̩̤͉̤̼͍͙͉͕̺͙̯͂̾̃̋̌̋͌̽̂͊́̈́͂̅̀̽͂̀͒̊̍̚͜͜͠ͅͅͅǫ̸̡̛̛̱̮̞̯̖͔̪̞̦̳̦̝̯̘̜̩̝͉̺̮̠̬̝̯͖̑̓̓̃͗̾̽̄͊̈́̓̄̀̒̋̑̀̾̎̃̿̀̀̄̚͘͜͝͝ͅb̸̨̧̛͚̰̞̜̱̦͓͎͓̻͈̹̫͓͖̣̩̙̲͎̝̪̱͉͔̊̋́͛̒̇̌̽̎̃̇̋͑̈́̒̆̎̈́̈͛͆̂̈̅͘b̴̧̨̢̧̛̛̯̹̟̭͚͙̦͔̻̩̥̟̞̘̜̤̯̣̝̺̭͓̣̗̞̘̰͈͕̃̅̄̍̒̋́̅̈͑̈̈͐͆͋͊̄̐̔̈́́͊̒͂͘̚̚ǝ̸̛͉̞̦̦͉̪̥͍̳̬̭̭̳͈̭̪̘̞͓̞͙͔͖͙̈̌͆̌͗̑̾̒̊͋̎̎̀̎̽͑̓̍̅̽̄͋̂̊̚̚͝͝͠͠͠͝ͅƨ̵̢̨̡̢̪͓̱̠̝͉̪͇̠̝̮͔͙̳̣̝͍͓̲̓̏̍͌̔͆̅̽͗̏̾͗̈́̍̊̐̉̋̇̈́͊̌̾̂̀̕̚͘͘͜͜͠͠͠ƨ̴̧̨̨̛͍̣͚͇͉͉͓̗̱̥̥̮̻͉̲̹̦͚͚̩̥͔̻̺̲̘͚̞̮̥̃̈́̄́̽̀̍̐̂̂̀̏̉͂̾̒̈́̎̀̌́͛̈́̈̐̚͘͜͝͝ but fell during battle. It is said she had unimaginable powers and with that power... a weapon to equal her. One that is said she used during her final battle. It is said if a mere mortal manages to get a hold of the weapon, they would be blessed endless amount of wealth. Many have tried finding the weapon but instead, what they found was their lives slipping away. Only those worthy to get the weapon is able to save it from the Dark Island where it resides now. The real question is what made such a powerful being fall? Whatever took her down... must still be on that island. Only the First Spinjitzu Master knows what happened on that fateful day. Any knowledge of her existence though was destroyed by said God to protect her identity from those who would want to take advantage of the power she once wielded. But, he still has a portrait of her in the Monastery that I saw when I snuck in to steal some treasure from him. That's when I saw her and noticed writing on some writing behind it. And found their secret. Just what is the Garmadon family is hiding?... And just where is this Dark Island?..."
My eyes widen after reading the page. "What did I just read?... And why is that word crossed out?... Why-"
Before I get to process anything, the book glows brightly and fades away into the glow.
"No! No, no, no! Don't disappear on me! I just got some answers! Please don't disappear on me! I just got answers! Come back!"
But, because of my outburst, some nearby snakes hear my screams and head into my office. We stare at each other before I sigh in annoyance. "Just give me like a minute to tie my hair back up okay? I rather not fight with hair in my face."
~
Lloyd simply watches his dad pace back and forth in his former bedroom. He simply sighs and sits down on his bed. "Dad, you don't need to worry. I'm okay you know"
"I know son but you're on the Bounty! You should be with your Uncle safely kept away! Not in danger! You know I don't like you being in danger or Y/n too! Now you two are on this boat and I don't even know why! Ugh, you kids are just too much..."
"I'm sorry, Dad but you've been throwing attack after attack at us so we decided it was best to throw back our own attack at uh you... heh."
Garmadon stops his pacing and looks back at his son. A bewildered look forms on his face. "So... you're saying you Ninjas are basically fighting back now?..."
The blonde looks away for a moment before giving him a small nod. "Y-Yeah... It's to show that we aren't going to stand for all of the attacks and stuff!"
He smiles softly upon hearing that and pats his head. "You sure have grown, Lloyd. You're using the revenge I have... for good. You're becoming something that I can't be. A good person."
Lloyd's eyes widen and look at him, realizing that the divide between them is going to become larger because of that. He quickly gets up and hugs him tightly, knowing that this might be the last he gets the chance to do so because of the evil within his father. "Then... the divide between is going to become bigger... And I won't be able to hug you anymore..."
His father's red eyes widen a bit, realizing he's right. A few tears form in his eyes before hugging him back, knowing it will be the last time he'll hug his son. He hates how destiny has put him in a tough situation, basically breaking his family apart. Destiny caused him to turn evil and not be able to be with the love of his life or his son. He wants to cherish this moment as much as possible because it might be the last time he gets to feel like a family again.
"I love you, son... And I'm proud of you."
"I love you too Dad..."
"Promise me you'll stay by Y/n's side okay? She's good for you and I know... she'll be there for you when I can't be."
Lloyd hesitates for a moment before looking at his father. "I-I promise... But, Dad... I need to tell you something."
Garmadon kneels down at his level and looks at him. "What is it, Lloyd?"
"I... I like Y/n."
The evil overlord is taken aback by that confusion and looks at his son. "And what makes you say that?..."
Lloyd walks over to the window and stares out it. "I-I don't know... But, she always makes me feel so happy and safe whenever I'm with her... Ever since we first met and she gave me that lollipop... She was the first person to ever be nice to me! Not out of fear because I'm your son like usual... She always helped me get out of trouble and believed that I could be better... And I've been doing my best to help her whenever I get her into trouble too because you know how much of a magnet I am for that heh. I just... want to protect her I guess after she helped me see the light. Ever since that first meeting with her, it feels like I finally found my place in life with them... From getting me a cape to going candy shopping with me... she makes me happy heh."
When he turns back to his father, all he sees are wide eyes and an emotion on his face he can't read. He nervously speaks to him. "Um, are you okay Dad?..."

Apex Predator
Earth is a fairly small place, but it's all Bath has. It's the only home he's ever known for all of his 500-or-so-million years of life. One day, Bath realized his treasured Earth was being drawn into the next mass extinction ahead of schedule. So, fascinated by the humans and their quick rise to power (after all, setting off a mass extinction is a pretty sizable achievement), what's a nearly all-powerful, somewhat bored, morally ambiguous, savagely violent, shapeshifting alien entity to do other than assume the form of a human and do some front-line investigating? Little did Bath know he would soon stumble upon a mysterious human organization with a gate leading to planets eons away. And that's just the beginning... A story with aliens, intergalactic space travel, mind powers, and an abundance of adventure! Author's note: ON HIATUS! Hello and thank you for reading! Constructive criticism and grammar-policing are both appreciated. Parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 are complete at 1271 pages! Part 7 is in progress! If you've ever read any other web serials, you might've noticed that authors get better with time (that is, their art or writing improves). Wutosama of Metaworld Chronicles noted that the first 20 chaps are always a mess. This is also the case with Apex Predator. The first two parts (ranging just under 30 chapters, or 161 pages) are absolutely subpar. While I have edited them as of 7-10-18, they require a rewrite, which is currently in the works but not complete. For a sample that gives insight into what the latter ~80% of the story's writing style is like, check out chapter 56. Vote for Apex Predator on Top Web Fiction! The Apex Predator Discord is here. Cover: original work done by me, the author, caerulex.
