Chapter XLV

"Beta Declan, you may kiss the bride." The elder closed his book and clapped as Declan grabbed Ellie planting a kiss on her lips.

Everyone let out whistles and yells as we clapped too. I couldn't help but to wonder what Atlas' and I's wedding would look like.

Would we do a big wedding?

Or something more personal?

I was taken from my thoughts as Ellie grabbed her bouquet from my hands and headed down the isle with her husband.

I couldn't help but to laugh at hers and Declan's dances moves as they exited to the giant tent where the reception will be held.

"My lady?" Atlas smirked and held his arm out to me.

I let out a laugh and accepted it following the path that Declan and Ellie took.

Once all of the wedding party was in the tent, Ellie got everyone's attention with a clap. "Okay everyone, Finn is bringing the guest in here in about..." she pulled Declan's watch to her face along with his arm making all of us chuckle, "8 minutes. Boys, you make sure everyone sits in their assigned seats. Girls, we need to head to the pack house for the wardrobe change."

When planning the wedding, Ellie and I decided early on that if she wanted us to wear long dresses with laced sleeves for the ceremony then we needed to change into something more comfortable for the reception.

She was gracious enough to allow us to pick the style of the dress as long as it was as any of the wedding colors. I, of course, got a sage green stain dress that draped around all of my curves perfectly.

Goddess, I knew how much Atlas loves satin.

We all stared at her as she rambled and didn't move when she stopped talking. This clearly irritated her because she slapped her hands together with a growl, "Chop, Chop! Let's move people!"

We all scurried with the tone of voice she used.

Willow and Artemis made it to the pack house before Ellie and I because we had the task of lugging her giant dress up the hill to the pack house. Once we finally made it I was a gasping mess and I could feel the hours of sleep I missed coming back to haunt me.

"Okay, everyone let's get changed and back down there," Ellie commanded.

I walk over to the dress bag labeled with my name to pull out my dress but I was surprised to find the bag empty.

"Did someone take my dress and steamed it or something?" I call out looking a round at the other girls.

They all shook their heads with a confused look until Ellie came over in her short white dress she had just changed into.

"How is it gone?" She questions, pulling the bag to her making sure it wasn't hiding. "I literally checked everyone's dresses this morning."

"Well, we don't have time to look for it..." Artemis points out looking at the clock.

"Don't worry!" Willow shouts and runs up the stairs without another word. After a few seconds she comes back down with a lilac dress poking out of a dress bag, "I couldn't decide what dress I liked more so I bought them both!"

"You're a life saver!" Ellie exclaims before pushing the dress into my chest and shooing me into a spot to change.

Once I had the dress on, I looked at it in the mirror. It was a ruched body con dress that ended at the middle of my thigh. The sleeves were meshed and came in at the wrists giving it a puffy arm look. The neckline flattered my girls as it dipped down right to the start of my breast.

I slid my heels back on and made my way back into the foyer of the pack house, "it fits."

"Great! Let's go, Everly has to get ready for the first dance." Ellie says and rushes us out the door.

It didn't take long for me to get everything sorted for the band so the performance l would go smoothly and it left me with enough time to eat and enjoy a brief moment of the cocktail hour talking with my mate and my parents.

"I hear that we are going to be blessed with your voice again, Alpha Female." I hear from my left.

All our heads snap to see the very dapper looking Royal Beta Lux standing with a glass in his hand.

"Lux!" I smile and instantly greet him with a small hug.

Atlas was right behind me when I released my old tour guide.

"Hey buddy," Atlas smiled slapping Lux on the shoulder, "are Legacy and Fallon here?"

"Just me, Legacy is always busy. Fallon sends you two her best." Lux grins and points to me with a finger, "she also said that you better write her, she would love for you two to visit."

"I will, I will," I put my hands up jokingly.

The lights dim in the tent, and I look back to the two men. "That's my queue, if you will excuse me." I had my champagne to Atlas before planting a kiss on his cheek.

I quickly make my way up to the stage and grab the mic stand bringing it down to the level that I need it at before speaking, "Good afternoon everyone," I smile as they greet me back, "I would like to invite Mr. and Mrs. Silverton, to the dance floor for their first dance."

They made their way to the middle of the floor causing me to signal to the band to start playing Haley Reinhart's take on Elvis Presley's I Can't Help Falling In Love.

The first chorus flew by, I was so enchanted with how beautiful Declan and Ellie glided across the floor. I didn't take my eyes off of them until I started the bridge and I felt a wave of feeling uncomfortableness.

Celeste says alerting me that it wasn't not my own feelings.

I scanned the audience as I continued to sing until I caught him standing with a figure in an awfully familiar dress.

Esme stole my dress AND had her hair styled exactly like mine.

Of course she did, why wouldn't she?

I grew angrier by the second but it maxed when she grabbed his arm making him stiffen under her touch. She didn't seem to notice as she examined him like prey.

I wanted to poke out her wondering eyes with a knife as he shook her off and tried to walk away but she continued to follow him.

All of the sudden, a waitress that was collecting silverware, grabbed a dirty knife from her tray and stabbed Esme in the face.

Blood gushed everywhere as I let out a scream into the mic. Atlas turned swiftly to see Esme fall to the ground and the waitress take off through the side of the tent.

Chaos took over the once romantic atmosphere as crowds of people ran from the tent and Atlas barked out orders to find the girl.

My breathing caught in my throat as Declan rushed to his sister and Atlas found me with his eyes.

"Everly! Get out of here!" He commanded but I couldn't move. Black dots began to cloud my vision as my body grew heavier.

My father was already running to me before Atlas even had the chance. Once the safety of my dad's arms enclosed on me, I finally gave in letting the darkness take me.
