Roshni's POV
Though I was reluctant to go to another City, for selling the diamond, Hardik was right that if we try to sell it here in Surat, Manik Ji would come to know it and people would get a chance to gossip more about us and my kidnappers would also get to know that I have the diamond with me and they could harm us. So I agreed to go out with him.
I was fortunate to have a friend like Hardik. I don't know why Manik Ji always disliked him and discouraged our friendship. But then he was possessive about me and disliked every one of them.
We were going to Hardik's hometown. But I don't know why, all I could think of was Manik ji.
Manik ji was such a nice man, a man who didn't even want to hurt anyone's feelings.
He was about to get married... All of a sudden I was getting very upset.
Hardik had told me that it was about a two-hour journey. I would go mad if I keep thinking about him and his marriage.
So I tried to distract my mind and thought of listening to some music. I took out my phone from my bag and switched it on.
I saw many missed calls... 27 from Manik ji, 6 from Mihir ji, and 3 from Ron on the previous night.
I just closed my eyes and shook my head to clear my mind of such thoughts and played my favorite playlist.
After about two hours, we reached his hometown. He took me to a deserted and cheap guest house.
" Why have we come here??" I asked.
" We need some rest... I have been driving the bike. We can rest here for some time. Then we will think about how to proceed further. " He said casually.
" But what is there to think about? Let's go to the jewelers show the diamond to them and if they offer good money, we will sell it and would go back. Simple! " I asked as I got annoyed at the hint of uncertainty in his voice.
" Simple?? It is very dangerous. We need to be cautious. I will call the jeweler here so that we can be safe. " He said.

But I felt very weird. It was dangerous to travel like this with the diamond and to stay and meet someone in such a lonely place.
I didn't feel safe at the place. Something was not right.
" Why don't we just show its picture and authenticity certificate with its exact worth to the jewelers? " I said.
" No! What are you talking about?? This is not online shopping, Roshni. We are talking about a very expensive diamond. And they are traditional people. They would not buy like that. " He retorted.
" Then let's go to Delhi or Mumbai. There the branded showrooms will tell us the exact worth of it. I will not show my diamond, to anyone like this. " I suggested as I was not convinced.
" Try to understand, Roshni. We don't know anybody in Delhi or Mumbai, here I know some of the jewelers and we can sell it easily but they would like to see the Diamond. No one would entertain us by looking at the certificate only. " He was getting annoyed.
" Why?? The certificates are meant for that. We don't need to carry the diamond, we just have to show the authenticity certificate of the product, if they really want to buy a diamond they would tell us at least the tentative price. " I argued.
" What is your problem Roshni if you didn't want to sell it you should have told me. What is the use of taking so much effort and coming here if you don't want to sell?? " He yelled at me for the first time.
What was his issue??
" Why are you getting so worked up? Who is saying that I don't want to sell this Diamond?? I want to, but I don't want to take a risk with our lives. They might just take the diamond away from us and not give us anything. " I said what was bothering me.
" How can they take the diamond from us like that, I am here with you. " He got annoyed.
" Think about it, Hardik, we are just two of us here and if we show a diamond to anyone here in such a secluded place, they can always take away the diamond from us. " I tried to make him understand.

" Don't you have trust in me?? " He said getting angry.
" Oh I trust you more than I have trust in myself that's why I came here, but your life is as valuable to me as my own. You are the only one I can trust so I don't want your life to be at risk also. But you are not a Superman or He-man, so behave like a normal man. What would we do if they take it away forcefully here? No!! We will show them just the pictures and the certificate. Try to understand, Hardik. You are doing so much for me that I would not like you to get into any problems. " I said and he calmed down.
" Okay, let's try it your way, but if they don't entertain us then we will show them the Diamond. Do you know how much risk I have taken, in bringing you here? What would happen if your Manik Ji would come to know that I help you in coming here? He would charge me for kidnapping you." He shouted again.
" Fine, but I will not show the diamond to anyone here in this deserted place. It is too risky. " I said firmly.
" Ok, let us have food, and then I will call the prospective buyers, we can rest for some time till they come and you can try showing the certificate and picture of the diamond. But let me tell you it's not going to work this way. " He said.
" Then the only way that we go to Mumbai or Delhi and try at some branded jewelry showroom they would definitely accept my way of selling. " I said firmly. It was my diamond and I am the one who would take the decision regarding it.
" You are being stubborn, I think that I really wasted my time coming here, and have taken so much risk without anything. You don't even trust me. " He was very much annoyed.
" I would not have come with you if I didn't trust you, I trust you but not them. They are virtually strangers to me and I don't trust strangers. " I said.
" Ok, let's have some food. I am hungry and tired. I want to rest for some time. I didn't even sleep last night as I was worried about all this. " He said.
" Ok, calm down let's have food first and take a rest then we will start the work with a calm and cool mind. " I suggested. But he was in a very different mood.

Manik's POV
My detective and I were going to his hometown by my helicopter. The moment we reached the outskirts of his hometown. I told my pilot, to land. He did that.
I had booked a cab already and it was waiting there for us, after telling the pilot to stay there we took the cab. My phone was ringing.
It was Mihir, " Yes, Mihir? I have reached here. I was about to tell you. I had her phone on track. But it is still switched off. "
" Bhai, I want to keep a track of your phone too, please switch it on. " He said.
" Yes, a very good idea. Mihir, It is bigger than I thought, I might need help, you be ready to send some help? Some of our business rivals and some very dangerous people seemed to be involved. Don't tell Chachu yet, or he would go on high alert and involve the police, politicians everyone, but I may or may not need help from the police I just have the detective with me and it seems that we can see just the tip of an iceberg. It can be bigger than it seems. " I said.
" I am not telling Dad and coming to help you. Will reach there in 4 to 5 hours. " He replied.
" Ok!! Don't worry we have your back. I will be there as soon as I make arrangements for a helicopter. " He said and disconnected.
I checked the tracker and saw that her phone was switched on and I could see her exact location.
Oh, thank God!!
