《Project Abra》Ichor

After the entity moved on, I pulled out the components I took from the heater, and took off my lab coat.
[This is a horrible idea]
What. You can't stop me from plugging pure copper wire into a battery
I quickly pause my threading of copper wire throughout the coat as something in the distance moves. It makes an almost scraping sound, until returning back to silence.
[This is the worst idea you have had yet]
~Don't cut your fingers off with your knife~
Im not going to cut my fuckin-
~Dumbass~
After quickly sucking on the small nick on my left pointer finger, I go back to cutting small holes in the lab coat, each one just a thin horizontal slice in the stained white fabric. After cutting another row across the back, I carefully thread the copper wire through the holes, alternating on the interior exterior sides.
~Your almost out of wire~
I'm enjoying not thinking about anything dammit, shut up
I thread the wire back up the left back, connecting it back to the start of the circuit in the left breast pocket. I twist it, connecting it to the small control unit, ripped off of the heater itself. After wiring it into my spare rifle battery, I quickly test it, flipping it on. 750 watts flow into the control nodule, radiating heat through the wires electrical resistance. After putting it on, I can tell its working.
[Are you going to get more sleep]
No. I don't like the fact there are multiple flying beasts in here.
~Foolproof reasoning~
After quickly packing up the various small scraps and tools scattered around, I grab the leftover mushroom sphere things, stowing them away in my bag. Then, I continue walking, past where I saw the wolves yesterday, towards the pit. As I walk, the number of unusual things increases. Still functioning drones, stuck in the slime, bloodstains on the walls, a glowing red floating crystal thing that shadow warns me to stay away from.

After walking for several hours, I hear a wet scraping noise.
~Stay low~
I quickly duck, turning off my flashlight, looking upwards for the black entity I saw last night. In the relative darkness of the canyons, anything looks like it can be the entity. A piece of scrap metal jutting out of the wall at an angle, water dripping down from above.
Is the coast clear?
Before jade or shadow have the chance to answer, I hear another noise. A bubbling noises, a glow gurgle, like a tar pit.
[Hide]
I quickly try to duck into the container next to me, its doors rusted from being down here. Unfortunately its still locked, with a basic padlock. I quickly pull the bayonet blade off of my belt, activating it, and starting to cut a hole. The gurgling noise can still be heard, picking up in pace and volume.
Work dammit
After several arduously long seconds of pulling the glowing red blade through the door, the cutout falls back into the container, making a loud clattering noise. The gurgling noises stop. I slowly turn around. Up, about 40 feet on the opposite side of the canyon stands, the black entity. It is completely colorless, only defined by its silhouette. It's standing on a small flat platform of containers, which is impressive for its huge size. It's massive, at least 5 meters long, with an imposing wingspan of roughly ten meters. The only colored part I can see are its glowing red eyes.
Suddenly blocks of varying shapes, each holding the synthco logo, flash into my vision, obscuring the beast. I can only make out its general location through the blocks. It jumps down to the ground level, staring directly at me, before moving rapidly towards me. I try to duck out of the way, but it catches my left shoulder pinning me against the wall.
Jade, remove the censor bars

I quickly try to retaliate against my obscured assailant, slashing the kjalder bayonet towards the boxy shapes obscuring most of my vision. Shadow shoots out a small amount of black sizzling poison at it, to little effect.
[This particular object is forbidden from your clearance. You are not allowed to know about it.]
I damn well know about it now, remove the bars
One of my slashes catches its slimy skin, slicing clean through like a liquid. Its push temporarily weakens on my shoulder, giving me a chance to slide out of its grasp. I fall several inches to the ground, dropping my backpack quickly while retreating. I quickly pull the pistol out of my belt, clicking off the safety.
Jade, reboot
Suddenly the presence of someone in my brain ceases, only leaving 2 in my head. The censorship bars drop just in time for me to see the dragon growing tentacles. I can see it better now, the dim light reflecting back towards me, as if reflecting off of slime. On closer inspection, the dragon appears to be made of some sort of black liquid, constantly slightly shifting. It sprouts 4 tentacles, emerging from between its wings.
~Nope, i've seen this anime~
2 of them beeline towards my bag, and the other 2 lunge towards me. I quickly dodge one, slicing it off with the bayonet, and the 2nd one grabs onto my leg. I quickly slice it off, the ooze no longer moving, but still feeling uncomfortably warm on my bare skin.
I quickly open fire with my handheld particle accelerator, unleashing a volley directly into the creature's face, to no visible effect. I can see it picking up my bag with 2 of its tentacles, the tentacles base moving to the end of its tail as it lunges at me. I quickly duck backwards, holding the bayonet to slice along its belly. Shadow fires another burst of acid at it, as ichor falls from its chest. I deactivate the bayonet, removing its purchase as it tries to grab the blade and wrench it out of my hands .
The open wound upon the chest of the dragon spurts black ichor onto the floor, as well as me. I quickly fire another volley at it, as I feel like I am beginning to slow down. As I try to dodge, I find myself completely frozen, as it opens its previously invisible jaws. However before it can eat me, it's slammed into by another equally sized creature. It goes flying several meters, bouncing off the ground as the blue beast crashes into it, quickly holding 2 talons down on the slimes flank.
The blue beast is almost the exact same size as the other one, covered in light blue armor plates. It looks like it's been through a lot, but before I can get a closer look, both creatures disappear into censorship boxes. I quickly grab my bag, and start running as the 2 dragons grapple with each other, the growls and slashes never too far away. After 15 minutes the sounds of fighting stop, and I am several turns away from the scene of combat before stopping to breathe.
Jade, what the fuck
~We were fighting that thing, and you censor our view of it. News Flash; we need to see the damn thing to fight it~
[Programming forbids someone of such low clearance of knowing about them]
We need to change your programming then
I quickly gulp down my half full water bottle, dehydrated from the fight. I am absolutely covered in the black oozes ichor.
[It could have gone worse]

Demons Don't Lie
Algier, average human and recent convict, has committed the gravest sin of all: demon slaying. His fate? To participate in the Culling, a battle-royale style tournament that’s televised live to the world, where all the worst criminals go to die. As with all tournaments, a prize is on the line. If Algier survives, he can have any wish granted by the Marquises, the new rulers of Earth following the demons’ invasion. However, there’s little hope for survival in a tournament designed to have demons do the work of the executioner, especially for a human. Demons are stronger, faster, wiser, and more talented than the average human, and, despite his crime, Algier is no demon hunter. Mentally defeated before the tournament even begins, Algier is torn between becoming another demon’s points and fighting on in his dead mother’s legacy. But should he choose to fight, there is one advantage that Algier has that can tip the odds in his favour: Demons don’t lie, but humans can. How to read this story Demons Don't Lie is written from the perspective of an unreliable (lying) narrator. There are many inconsistencies within the story which are placed there intentionally. It's up to the reader to decide what is the truth and what is the lie. Promotion Full quality cover image
