《I Died and Got Summoned to Another World as a WHAT?!?!》Ep. 714 Beneath the Volcano Part 3

"That's great! Congratulations!"
Brightfire says "Thank you. But I've run into a problem, the little lizards don't give me experience anymore. I am going to have to hunt bigger things to continue leveling."
"That's true."
So, as I continue working on the canteens I tell Brightfire everything I can remember about dinosaurs. While some of it may not be accurate, it should at least give her an idea of what she is up against. Then again, if she waits till we get back she can always go hunt some orcs to level up.
Compared to dinosaurs, hunting orcs would be much easier and safer. Unfortunately, she is impatient and plans to keep hunting no matter what I say. In truth, I can't try too hard to talk her out of it, not without becoming a hypocrite.
After all the crazy and insane things that I have done, I don't have the right to say much. All I can do is try and convince her to be careful, or maybe there is something I can do. I take a look at what Brightfire is wearing, trying not to pay attention to the body under it.
Her armor is decent, but not well crafted enough for me to be able to enchant it. Leather has to be pretty high quality both in materials and craftsmanship to hold a lot of mana. I have no idea why craftsmanship makes a difference in mana capacity, but it does.
The fact that her armor is made of normal leather is the biggest problem. Even if I wanted to try, I doubt I could put even one enchantment into it without it exploding. I could make her better armor if I had the materials, but I didn't keep any.
All the hide and scales from the wyvern I gave to the elves and I never bothered to grab any from the legendary beast. From what I have seen of the dinosaurs that I have seen I doubt they would make good armor. Their hides are strong but really thick, it would restrict her movements too much.

There is probably a technique to thin it down to where it would be usable, but I don't know it. So right now I really can't do anything for her armor wise, but weapons are a different story. The sword is one I got from the humans, it could handle a couple of enchantments at least.
Her bow is the only thing she has that I actually consider good quality. Not only is it made of good materials but it is very well crafted, it can hold a lot of mana. As I am thinking things through I manage to complete two more canteens, but now I am out of mana.
"Brightfire, you should go to bed, but leave me your sword and bow."
Brightfire says "Okay, but why?"
"Once I am done with the canteens I will see about enchanting your weapons. I would do your armor, but your current armor isn't good enough."
Brightfire says "I have new armor being made, but we left before it could be finished."
"Yeah, sorry about that. When we get back I will enchant your new armor."
Brightfire says "Any chance you can make me a pouch like yours?"
"Do you have any leather? I can try to make one like the holding pouch. The food pouch was made by the goddesses, I won't even attempt to copy it!"
Brightfire says "Aw, too bad! Well, just one of holding would be really helpful! Would the skins from the little lizards work?"
"I'm not sure, let me see some."
Brightfire says "It's in the pouch!"
"Oh."
Reaching into the pouch I find over a hundred skins from the little lizards. Taking one out I take a look at it, it is thin enough to be usable but still decently strong. Anything made from them normally would have a lot of stitch lines, but I don't have that problem.

"What were you planning to do with all of these?"
Brightfire says "Nothing really. I was just using them for practice."
"If you want, I can probably make some semi-decent armor out of these."
Brightfire doesn't say anything, she just strips her armor off and tosses it on the floor next to me. She is wearing very little under the armor and I have to admit that I enjoy the show quite a bit. After removing her armor Brightfire goes and curls up with Nala and goes to sleep.
I have no idea if she noticed me watching or not, but if she did she doesn't say anything. After making the three canteens I am completely out of mana so I have to meditate for a couple of hours to recover. As soon as I have enough mana I complete the last two canteens and then meditate again.
Once I have my mana back I decide to start with Brightfire's bow since it is the easiest. When I pick it up I can immediately sense that it is really old, probably passed down through the generations. That explains why its quality is so much higher than anything else I have seen the elves using.
As I start filling it with mana I determine it can hold four or five enchantments. Considering it is a ranged weapon I decide on using wind type enchantments. Then after a random thought I switch to lightning and try something from D&D.
Creating an enchantment to allow the bow to create arrows out of lightning goes well. However, there is an immediate problem, the arrows are too strong for the bow. If I don't do anything then after a few dozen arrows the bow will be destroyed.
The easiest way to fix it is going to be to make the bow immune to lightning. Of course, I have a lightning immune component readily available, my blood. So I cut my hand and smear my blood all over the bow, then I use mana to infuse my blood into the wood of the bow.
Not only does the bow become immune to lightning damage, it also becomes stronger and able to hold more mana. That comes as a real surprise to me and I stop to examine the bow and try to figure out what happened. Somehow, adding my blood seems to have raised the level of the wood to the next level.
After I am done examining the bow I realize it is now possible to enchant it to almost the level of an artifact. In fact, if I still had sacred power I am pretty sure I could turn it into an artifact. However, I am still unable to figure out why adding my blood had such an effect.
It makes me itch to try out some experiments using my blood to see what will happen. First though, I should finish the enchantments on the bow, if I leave it alone too long it could become unstable. Since the bow is now reinforced, I can use the rest of the enchantments to increase its power.
Using a wind enchantment I increase the range and speed of the arrows. Using another wind enchantment I am able to boost the speed of the archer wielding the bow. In the end, I am quite proud of how well all of the enchantments turn out, I can't wait for Brightfire to try it out.
