《MAGE CHRONICLES: THE BEGINNING.》7

Hours later, I still can’t wrap my head around everything that’s happening.
“Are you excited ?”
“More like nervous mama, but also excited. I mean, I’m going to college.”
“Did you get everything?”
“They said no clothes, so I just packed my kindle, a tab for my music, my sound system, all my shoes, and underwear.”
“Oh, and the plushies for me and Blue, plus a couple of his favourite books.”
“So that’s everything?”
“Yeah, if I need anything I can ask for it, we can communicate, right? Oh my God, please tell me they have internet and cellphone coverage.”
“Relax Mahi, I’m sure you’ll be pleasantly surprised, it’s not all medieval,” Mama says with a laugh.
“Have you ever been there?”
“Yeah, we all went there, that’s where I met your dad.”
“And Nona Ellie?”
“No, we met earlier than that.”
“How was it?”
“Well, it was pretty cool and fun too, like a normal school, but that was a century ago, I’m sure a lot more has changed.”
“Well, I hope everything goes well.”
“One thing, don’t be hostile, but don’t trust too easily either.”
“That is a given, you don’t need to tell me that.”
“Yeah I know, but those people are on another level of mean, they thrive on the suffering of others, taught to trick and manipulate everything for their benefit.”
“Wow mama, I can’t wait to get there, sounds fantastic, are they racist too?”
Though I say it in jest, that fact really worries me, my dark brown skin colour has been a major setback for me, and my platinum-coloured hair didn’t help matters either, I was labeled a freak.
“Some of them will be though I suspect any discrimination you would receive will be because of your humanity, and I mean that in every sense of the word,” Mama answers on her way to open the door, I didn’t even hear the bell, some perks I could really use.

“So, are we ready to go?” Mor asks heading in.
“Yeah, well as ready as I can be anyway,” I reply, holding on to Blue who has been hyper all day, guess he is excited for the both of us.
“Where is Eliane?” mama asks.
“She went ahead to get everything ready, and Killian is waiting for us outside.”
“Is this all?” Mor asks indicating my luggage set, a gift from my parents for my previous birthday.
“Yes, that’s it, you said not to carry much.”
She picks them up and carries them outside while I say goodbye to my parents, after they hug Blue too, I bundle him into the car seat, which is difficult because of his wings.
“Retract your wings, child,” Mama instructs.
I strap him in and with one last look at the place that has been my first and only home; we are off.
“How come we are taking a car, I thought you would open a portal or something.”
“We would have, but we don’t want to alert the other guys looking for you, any sort of magic would be detected.”
“So, where are we going?”
“To the airport.”
“We are flying?”
“No, we will create the portal once we are there that will throw them off for a while.”

Forged
Legendary swordsmen, whose feats are hailed and names known far and wide. Many wish to be one, but few have the dedication to follow the path of the blade all the way through, with all of the trials and tribulations that entails. But those who reach the end can become something far greater than they once were. Great warriors aren’t born, they’re forged. A coming-of-age story mixed with a Martial journey story. Think Youxia, Musha Shogyou, or Knight Errant. A martial arts and action heavy story with a focus of slow progression, and detailed character development over time. One protagonist, but a significant amount from other character's POVs, and a notable amount of focus on other character's development. Disclaimer:Title/cover is metaphorical, no literal forging as of this time.
