《Poetry and Clarinet (Wirt x Reader》Lullaby in Frogland (part two)

"Uhhh," Wirt looked at you with wide eyes. It was obvious that he was very nervous. Just then, Wort's knees began to give out. As you all nearly toppled over, you accidentally hit the bassoon player, and he stumbled until he fell off of the ferry!
Every frog on the boat began to scream,
"Hot dog these guys really love the bassoon!" Wirt exclaimed, looking more panicked than ever.
You looked around, trying to think of something to fix the situation, when you noticed the bassoon was still on the boat.
"Hey, you play clarinet right? There's probably not much of a difference between these two, you should play the bassoon for the frogs." You quickly bent over and grabbed the bassoon before anyone could notice, holding it out to Wirt.
"I-I mean, I don't have the embouchure for bassoon. Besides, nobody wants to hear me play." He stammered, pushing the instrument back towards you.
"Come on Wirt, what other choice do we have? I want to hear you play." You shot him a half smile, and you could see him physically relax a bit. He stared at you for a moment, his expression unreadable, before grabbing the bassoon.
"Alright, here goes nothing,"
As the notes escaped the bassoon, you were appalled as to why Wirt was so scared to play. The instrument sounded beautiful. As the rest of the frog band began to play the song again, you heard a deep voice begin to sing along. You looked up in awe, as George Washington was the one singing.
"Whoa!" You heard Greg say from beside you.
The boat ride had turned into a magical experience for the four of you. Even when the cloak slipped off of you and Wirt, the police were too captivated in the performance to arrest you. The bassoonist eventually caught up to the ferry, and was put back in his spot in the band. He began to play a beautiful melody, as the rest of the band followed suit. The sun was setting, and every one of the frog couples began to dance with one another.

You felt a tap on your shoulder.
"Hey, remember that one time in my room? When we were dancing to the backstreet boys and Whitney Houston?" Wirt shot you a goofy smile, dramatically bowing his hand to you. "This is a bit more appropriate for slow dancing, don't you think, milady?" He asked, doing a very terrible british accent.
"Please never try to sound british again," you laughed. "But yes, I do think it is a rather lovely night to dance, good sir." You mimicked the accent.
Taking Wirt's hand in yours, the two of you walked to the center of the deck. You placed your hands around Wirt's neck, and he gently placed his own on your waist. You both goofily swayed back and fourth to the beautiful music. No moment in your life had ever felt more real. This was practically heaven for you. You were slow dancing with the boy you had fallen for with a sunset in the background, and a live band playing before your very eyes.
You didn't know if it was the heat of the moment, the relief that you knew you would finally be going home, or just pure love for Wirt that made you slowly lean in and kiss the boy, but whatever it was, nothing in your mind was stopping you.
As you had your lips pressed to his, you felt Wirt stiffen up. You pulled away. "Is something wrong?"
"No," Wirt breathed, pulling your face back into his, this time his lips crashing into yours. However, after a moment, Wirt pulled away. He had a strange look on his face, not the kind you would want to see after kissing someone.
"(y/n), I think that kiss was a mistake." He said, his eyes unable to meet yours.

Dark Matter
In the year 2023, scientists investigating the nature of dark matter caused a blackout throughout the entire world of Coranth. With this blackout came the appearance of supernatural and near-magical elemental abilities able to be wielded by all. By harnessing the dark matter in the environment, even ordinary humans now accessed powers that would have been deemed fantasy. These abilities include Wind, Fire, Lightning, Water, and Terra, being the five natural elements of which dark matter is absorbed by the planet itself. Additionally, the two moons orbiting Coranth offer the "Superior" elements of Dark and Light. The year is now 2041, and Dark Matter will follow the story of an adolescent boy named Raiden Sullivan in a dystopian future, 16 years old, eldest of 2, and son to Marcus Sullivan. Raiden is an intelligent young man belonging to a poor family with an absentee mother. He partakes in daily chores to cover living expenses after school and his home life is surrounded by his caring father and younger sister. In truth, this is my take on urban fantasy with slight LitRPG that keeps the "magic" elements somewhat scientific for a more realistic story. In using the dark matter surrounding our universe, humans can now harness elemental abilities as well as absorb dark matter from the beasts/monsters to further strengthen their abilities. For the most part, that'll be the main premise of the power system. Full transparency, this will be the first story I write and also the first story I publish, so please be patient with me. For some context, I'm an avid reader and after 4 or so years of only consuming, I feel that it might be time to try my hand at writing instead. Please feel free to add your opinions and criticism, it would be much appreciated. With that said, I hope you enjoy Dark Matter!

Parallels
Parallels are a constant in life. Our friends' lives often run parallel to ours; we share similar experiences or tastes- perhaps even both. Sometimes, however, opposites attract- and our lives run perpendicular. In that case, we are not attracted by similarities; rather, we are attracted to the differences in others. So, what happens when two parallels are broken apart? What might happen to them? Are they forever doomed to run alongside each other, never seeing one another, never meeting? Or, perhaps, might they be spun about? Could these lines that formerly ran alongside one another meet? Could they possibly be set perpendicular? Any feedback is welcome, so long as it is constructive. Also, you may not use any characters, ideas, places, or what have you that I present here without my explicit permission. A note: This is a story which I began over a year ago, but never got around to finishing- it feels about time to really get it going. Now, there are a couple of things about the story, and myself, that need to be said. First and foremost, there's a slow start, but by the third-fourth chapter things should be speeding up a bit. Secondly, in regards to release speed and/or word count per chapter, I make no promises- my schedule is fairly random, and in regards to word count, I will cut off any chapter at any point that feels appropriate to me- that may include cliffhangers, if necessary. I'm not trying to reach a specific word count, I am trying to create a cohesive story, with pseudo-appropriate chapter breaks. This means I will also not rush a half-baked release for the sake of getting a release out. Thirdly, I will make any edits, anywhere in the story and at any time, that strike me as necessary- typically being wording and/or formatting changes, but I may also decide to change major plot points- in that case I would put a notification in the next chapter released. Finally, and most importantly, I am a Christian; this story is intended to at least moderately reflect those values. So, if you particularly dislike any of these things, feel free to look elsewhere, and don't let the door hit you on the way out. God bless, friends.
