Of course, a little risk isn't going to stop me, so I prepare some neutral mana. Once it is ready I move to another undead and use Drain Touch on it. As the unlife energy enters my paw I direct it through the net of neutral mana and wait to see what happens.

*DING*

Gained 1 Origin Energy!

'Origin Energy? What the hell is that?!'

However, before I can even take a look to see what it is, I notice all the undead have stopped moving. Until now they have ignored me no matter what I was doing, but now they are all staring at me. They have even stopped attacking the crack, they are giving me a creepy feeling.

Not wanting to wait and see what they might do, I turn and run away from the ice mountain. Looking back I can see that they are still staring at me, but they are not following. When I leave the mountain they finally turn back and resume attacking the crack.

"Um, Krenocia, what is Origin Energy??"

Krenocia says "Well, from what I was told by an older god, it is the source of everything. It was the energy that was present at the beginning of time and everything came from it. Hence the name. Why?"

"Because I might have, accidentally, created some."

Krenocia screams "YOU WHAT?!?!?"

Before I can even finish trying to cover my ears, both Krenocia and Seronia appear. It is instantly obvious that they are both here physically, which requires a lot of power. Before I can say anything to them they both grab me and start examining me.

Seronia says "It really is Origin Energy!!"

Krenocia says "Yes, it is! Only a tiny amount, but it is real!"

"Why is this such a big deal?!"

Krenocia says "Because this energy hasn't existed since the beginning of time!"

Seronia says "It is the origin of everything! It is the purest form of power that has ever existed!"

"Okay, so it's impressive. But why would you react like this?"

Seronia says "It is hard to explain, but that energy can create! It can do just about anything with the right control!"

Krenocia says "More importantly to us, it can directly increase our powers!"

"Oh, that explains it. You had me scared for a minute!"

Krenocia says "How did you get it? I didn't see what happened!"

"It was my test run, it used to be the energy from one of the undead."

Seronia says "You turned the energy from an undead into Origin Energy?!"

Krenocia says "That shouldn't be possible! Unless..."

"Unless what?"

Krenocia says "Unless this maker or whatever it is, is actually older than the gods."

"Well, that would explain why they couldn't figure out how to kill it."

Seronia says "Forget that. Can you make more Origin Energy?!"

"Um, yeah. It will actually be fairly easy. I just need to make a weapon."

Seronia says "Great! If you can get me enough Origin Energy I can provide levels to the humans immediately!"

"Really? That would be awesome! What about the beastmen?"

Seronia says "Them too! I will give levels to all my followers!"

"Alright. How many Origin Energy do you need?"

Seronia says "Hm, at least a hundred, but that is just a guess. More would be better. My sister can use them too."

Krenocia says "My needs aren't as urgent."

"If I can get one Origin Energy from each undead, getting two hundred will be easy as pie."

Seronia says "Huh?"

"Oh, I will explain later. Right now I have work to do."

Krenocia says "Is there anything we can do to help?"

"Nope! I have it all planned out already!"

After saying that I have it planned out I notice that both goddesses look nervous. However, they don't say anything and just give me a hug before they leave. As soon as they are gone I shapeshift into my eagle form and fly up above the clouds.

The iron ore is exactly where I remember it being and I easily extract enough for my plan. However, it is only then that I remember that I left the forge in the cave. Not wanting to waste any time, and having plenty of mana, I picture the cave and try to teleport.

It doesn't work exactly as I was expecting, instead of teleporting I manage to open a gate. While it isn't what I was trying to do, it still gets me back to the cave faster. Although, once I am through it takes me a minute to figure out how to close the gate.

As soon as the gate closes I get to work, first I refine and start shaping the metal. Since I am fighting undead I have decided to make a blunt weapon this time. Not only is a blunt weapon more efficient against undead, but it is easier to make as well.

Just as I am putting the finishing touches on the warhammer Brightfire and Nala return. Since they are back I sit down with them to have dinner before enchanting the warhammer. I eat quickly and then start filling the warhammer with mana to enchant it with.

Brightfire says "You have this intense look about you, is something going on?"

"Um, yeah. I may have accidentally released an ancient army of the undead."

Brightfire says "What?! Are you serious?! This is an uninhabited island in the middle of nowhere! How did you manage to find trouble here?!"

"What can I say, it's a gift! But I have a plan to deal with it. Although, we may not be leaving tomorrow as planned."

Brightfire says "Is this something I can help with?"

"Unfortunately, no. We can't just kill them. That's why I am making this hammer, they have to be killed in a specific way."

Brightfire says "Oh, okay. So, I guess I should keep hunting?"

"You can. Or I can send you back to the elven village."

Brightfire says "You can do that?"

"Yeah, I can now. It would take all of my mana, but I can gate you to the village if you want."

Brightfire says "No. I will stay as long as you do. There might be something I can help you with at some point."

"Alright. I won't make you leave."

As Brightfire returns to eating dinner I start enchanting the warhammer. First I do the basic enchants to keep the hammer from breaking, then I start with Drain Touch. The fact that it is an ability I use frequently makes it fairly easy to convert into an enchantment.

Then all that's left is the enchantment to convert the undead energy into Origin Energy. This one takes a little bit of experimenting but everything goes surprisingly smoothly. In the end, the enchantment is complete and everything fits together perfectly.
