《The Legend of the North》chapter 54

Lyaria looks back quickly and urges Ezer to keep running as she watches as a guardian without a hand closes the distance that separates them quickly.
"The others are slower and one doesn't seem to work." She reports what she managed to see in that split second.
Ezer nods and looks into her eyes conveying what he wanted to do as the rock giant's footsteps approached. Both come to an unspoken agreement thanks to their trust and teamwork that they developed and perfected each day they spent together.
Each one jumps to one side, opposite the other, when a blow from the guardian travels the place where they just were. In doing so, the giant momentarily loses his balance, perhaps due to the lack of his hand, and Ezer takes the opportunity to draw his bow shooting an arrow at the only point that seemed to be vital, his eyes.
The giant may have been over four meters tall and a huge target, but its small head and even smaller eyes made it difficult for the shot to hit its target.
The moment the arrow leaves the string and shoots out, Ezer knows it will miss. Surely the cause was his erratic breathing or the lack of time added to the adrenaline, but none of this changed the result. However, Ezer does not despair and focuses on the wind that surrounded the arrow manipulating it, instead of preparing a second shot.
Thanks to this, the arrow corrects its course and hits almost on the edge of its target, damaging it slightly so that, due to the distance that separated Ezer, it seemed that it had no effect.
Before he can even think of anything else, Ezer is forced to jump to the side again, avoiding by centimeters the last fist that shoots out of the giant's arm as he swings it, taking advantage of the force that this generates.

A grimace of pain is generated on his face since this time he did not have the opportunity to break his fall and one of his ankles received all his weight when he fell. However, he doesn't even have time to check the damage as the giant lunges at him at high speed now that his weight was balanced by having his arms the same length.
His only option was to roll on the ground hoping that could dodge it, but before he could put his idea into action, a spear interposes between the giant's feet and he crashed to the ground because of it.
Lyaria did not sit idly and tried to help Ezer in the best way she could think of. At first the spear that, compared to the giant was very small, it seemed that it would break without even flinching from the rock. But the wood proved to be incredibly strong and flexible enough to destabilize it and finally break under the strain.
She cries internally for the loss of her best weapon which had one of the best and rarest woods. She wastes no time in continuing to lament and helps Ezer to his feet so he can continue running.
“It’s getting up and the other two are coming too.” Before crossing the tree line, being helped by Lyaria, Ezer looks back.
"We shouldn't stop. Can you run?" She asks with heavy breathing.
“Yes, it doesn't seem serious. I just need a little time.”
He uses Lyaria's shoulder for support and they walk away from the site without hearing any noise to show that they were being chased.
"I don't think they will move far from that clearing." She was bandaging Ezer's ankle having moved far enough away.
“I think the same, they are in charge of protecting rather than attacking.” He stands still while she carefully bandages his foot. He said it was fine and that wasn't necessary, but Lyaria insisted and her eyes showed that she wouldn't give in no matter what.

"At least now we know which direction to go. This forest cannot extend much further.”
“I hope so.” He gets up when she finishes her work.
"It's better to move by day and find a good place to shelter. I begin to understand this forest a little better, it seems that the animals that inhabit it are mostly nocturnal.” She walks slowly considering Ezer.
“Yes, it is true. During the day I see nothing but some insects.” Little by little he was able to put more weight on his ankle, the bandage was taking effect.
“Now that I only have a knife to defend myself, you'll have to go to the front if something happens.” Puts his hunting knife on his waist in case of any trouble.
"Sure, this time I have to defend you." Ezer smiles as he says it.
“I count on you.” She also has a slight smile on her face.
"Are you sure you don't want to try and get the spear back?" He knew it was something she appreciated.
"No, it's not worth it. It is destroyed, if I search it would only be its splinters.” His gaze falls a bit.
“I'm sorry.” Ezer feels remorse as he thinks it was his fault and starts thinking about what should have done better.
"Fool, a thank you has more value." Lyaria turns and reproaches his attitude.
"Sor-Thank you." His tongue locks in a somewhat strange thank you.
She just laughs and Ezer can't help but laugh too.
Near dusk they found a good place to rest under a tree whose roots formed a small cage. They would have preferred a better place, but the light did not allow them. They covered the spaces with branches and leaves in an effort to hide their scent, which seemed to work as no beasts got close enough to pose any danger. Though several times they had to hold their breath as they heard things dragging close to them.
The next morning, they continue to advance as the space between the trees widens and grass begins to replace the leafy ground. In addition, the light no longer had a problem penetrating the branches of the trees, relieving both of them who missed its warmth.
Although a change in the environment also caused a change in what lived in it. They would soon find that out.

The Plant Dungeon
I wrote this a while ago at my website. It is a mix of cultivation/dungeon with a few LitRPG themes, but not enough to justify the tag. I am migrating it here, so I don't have to keep paying WordPress for the site. I will continue writing this. So... Now for the synopsis. Follow the life of an unusual adventurer who got turned into a dungeon. Well... that was short. I guess I would just suggest reading the first few chapters to see how you like it. (remember, if enough people ask for it, I will continue writing it.) I have no Idea who owns the picture I used for the cover. If you want it down PM me and I'll take it down.

The Forerunner's Odyssey
The greatest tragedies are not the ones with the most unfortunate and unhappy endings, but rather the ones without an ending at all. So when Suran Ibrahim scaled the fresh crater, it was not out of exuberance for surviving his ordeal, nor was it out of desire to live in the brave, new world he found himself in. He simply longed for an ending to his odyssey. Mature 18+ Mostly for violence, some language, but anything else may show up eventually. I place the tag just so that I'm not restricted. I'm rewriting this to fix a host of issues. I'll try to update my progress in the blurb - I most likely wont post the revisions until I'm done for all chapters. Till then, c'ya later fam. Maybe. Character rework: 100% Planing: 80% Rewrite: 5/35 Editing: 5/35
