TW: underage drinking, mentioned/implied slut-shaming, mentioned/implied underage sex
***
On Izuku's second weekend back in San Francisco, he's taken to his first party. Izuku quickly learns during his first week what Aviva meant by 'not unpopular but unapproachable'. His friends - because of course, he associated himself with these people (he loves them, truly, but why are they so troublesome; not that Izuku isn't just as bad if not worse) - are something akin to the school's 'mystery bitches', as in little to nothing is known about them and reputations proceed them greatly.
(Izuku choked on air when he heard the one claiming that Xael had his ribs removed via fighting a biker for hitting on his girlfriend.)
Whispers would follow them wherever they were; nasty, outlandish rumours spread by the second. It's a bitter reminder of life at U.A, if not worse. Because he could ignore people ridiculing him all day (after all, he's used to it after years of practice); but hearing shit about his friends, about his boyfriends.
That doesn't sit well with him.
He's quickly dubbed as 'Feral' for his hostile glare and the way he bares his teeth threateningly at anyone who tries to say stupid shit about his friends. He nearly knocks someone's teeth in when he hears 'I heard Dubois and Taylor got him pregnant.' Not out of anger, but sheer annoyance at how gullible someone can be. He doesn't have a uterus. He's can't get fucking pregnant.
If not for Ezra, bless his extroverted soul, they probably wouldn't even be invited.
("They see us as intimidating," Zeke explains as Ezra flails atop Izuku's counter and Ai fails at killing the small spider by the foot of the table with their sneaker.
Izuku snorts, "are they blind?")
Despite his tendency to get into fights, Ezra in unsurprisingly well-liked. After all, it was him and Aviva who approached
Izuku his first day of elementary to befriend him. A boy with bruises on his skin and a steely gaze. They were easy to get along with.
Izuku looks at himself in the mirror, chewing on his bottom lip and bringing a steady hand to his eye. He was finally comfortable where he was living. Xee and Zeke have yet to not spend the night, not that Izuku minds. They make him feel safe, help fight away Izuku's night terrors. The others stay over quite often as well, but none take the cake like his two partners.
(He still grieves his mother, but his friends are always by his side to keep him from drowning all over again.)
He looks cute, that much can be said, and is finishing off the wing of his cat-eye. He's always felt incomplete without the familiar black smudge lining his eyes, the sharp point of his unnecessarily large wings, and the extension of his inner corner. Ezekial is ready, currently cupping Xael's face as he finishes off the light red hearts he'd drawn on his cheeks. They decided they would coordinate by adding red into their outfits, a subtle but cute way of showing they were each others.
"Hurry it up, we want to fucking leave," Val yells from the bedroom door, pulling on her heel. Izuku puts down the felt-tip the same time Zeke puts down the eyeshadow brush.
"Coming!" He calls back, grabbing his boyfriends by the wrist and dragging them.
"Hot damn," Aviva whistles, taking a step away from her girlfriend. They smirk, "y'all are hot."
"So are you, Vi," Izuku runs his eyes up and down everyone appreciatively, lingering on his boyfriends for a little longer, "we are fine as hell."

Ezra snorts, "we been knew, now come on, it's almost midnight."
***
Let it be said that Izuku is not a virgin (not that it should matter) nor is he in anyway shape or form embarrassed when it comes to public affections and intimacy. Way before they started dating, when Izuku would visit over the summer, he, Zeke and Xee were intimate on multiple occasions, not excluding countless expressions of PDA ranging from handholding to making out at a random diner while they waited for their food to arrive.
He found it amusing when people looked either disgusted or impressed to see him sandwiched between two boys; one sucking on his neck and the other shoving his tongue down his throat. He would flip off or yell something along the lines of 'stay pressed that I get two dicks while you get none' when the person that came up to them was homophobic or against poly relationships (even if they weren't in a relationship at the time).
(And if he may have... sort of... hospitalised a few people when they slut-shamed his now partners, who's to care?)
It was annoying to hear 'so you cheat on him' whenever someone Xee and Zeke knew were, somehow, introduced to Izuku. While Izuku may not have ever been in a committed relationship before now, Xee and Zeke have been together for the good part of two years, so whenever someone saw him kissing either boy, they were confronted.
Despite that, Izuku never cared, and that hasn't changed now that they're officially together.
Izuku currently has his arms wrapped around Xee, gently kissing the nape of his neck as Zeke nibbles his ear. Xee likes being spoiled; likes being the centre of it all. And both of his boyfriends like giving him the attention. He's sure people are staring, and it only drives his want to do more.
He had two really fucking attractive boyfriends, sue him for wanting show off.
"Please don't fuck on the sofa," Val scrunches her nose, "no one wants to see that."
"Everyone wants to see that," Izuku smirks.
"New kid?" An unfamiliar voice questions, but Izuku pretends to go deaf as he continuous gently marking his boyfriend's neck. Slender fingers snake his hair and he hums, pressing harder with his teeth and eliciting a small gasp. Much to his annoyance, the unfamiliar voice doesn't let up, coughing obnoxiously and calling out 'new kid' four more times before Izuku bothers pulling away. He smirks when the fingers in his hair snag him back briefly before letting. Zeke leaves Xee's jaw and goes to his lips and Izuku smiles as his boyfriends occupy each other.
He then turns, slowly and stiff, to the unfamiliar voice. A guy with buzzcut blonde hair and dark brown eyes stands there awkwardly, though otherwise unashamed despite interrupting the intimate moment Izuku was having with his partner.
"Yeah?" He questions unkindly.
"You're new right? Ezra's friend."
Izuku nods, "what is it?"
The guy smirks, "well we have a tradition for newbies who come to the school."
"Tradition?"
"Drinking game, how many shots 'til you buzz out."
Izuku hums. Since his rigorous (and downright dangerous, now that he thinks about it) training during his last year in middle school, his metabolism has spiked. From a lightweight to heavy drinker, it takes quite a bit before he starts to slur over his words.
Hence he nods, grinning.
It's either get drunk or win, both outcomes which he's more than okay with.
"You don't have to," Val looks to him, "it's pretty stupid and Drew is a heavy drinker."
"Worse than me?" He winks.
Val remembers last summer, where a suddenly bulked up Izuku downed a total of nine shots before the effects started kicking in and shrugged.
"It's either lose and get drunk or win and get drunk. Personally fine with either."
Val hums, "go for it, Zuki," she then wacks Zeke and Xee, who were way too into each other to really notice what was happening. They jump away from each other, arms still linked.
"What?"
"Your boyfriend's about to play the drinking game with Drew, go cheer him on. I'm gonna find the others," she gets up and walks off. Xee and Zeke look to Izuku, who's smiling at them and gesturing to come over.
Drew clears his throat, "ready?"
Izuku nods, feeling Ezekial wrap an arm around his waist, Xae on Ezekial's other side.
"How many can this guy hold?" He asks out loud, the three of them trailing behind the blonde who's leading them to the kitchen. He grimaces as the sound of a person wrenching their guts out echoes over the blasting music.
"Heard he once got in over 14 before backing out," Zeke says, "a fucking monster I swear."
Izuku whistles, "big and can hold his drink, might make a grab," he looks up to his partner's, eyes shining with mischief.
Xee growls, "try it and I'll traumatise him bad enough he'll be pissing his bed in a fucking psych ward for years."
Izuku chuckles mirthfully, "I'd never, you guys are my only."
"As it should be," Xee looks down to him, eyes hard, "we don't want consequences."
"Hot," both Zeke and Izuku say at the same time, bursting into quiet laughter right after.
Xee only sighs and ducks his head slightly.
"Ready newbie?" Drew smirks. Izuku wiggles out of his boyfriend's grasp and walks behind the counter. A surprisingly large crowd surrounds them, girls and guys and all those in-between cheering loudly, fists slamming the marble tiles, loud and overwhelming. Izuku slowly brings his hands to his ears and steadies his breathing.
So many fucking people...
A hand on his shoulder startles him, and he looks up to meet Zeke and Xee's worried gazes.
"If it's too overwhelming we can leave," Zeke says kindly, bending to be heard over the thumping music. In his peripheral, Izuku sees Drew line up a bunch of shots, clear liquid filling the brim.
He shakes his head, "I'm fine, nothing a good buzz in my system can't help."
Their scepticism doesn't falter.
"Seriously, if it's too much I'd tell you, I promise."
"Fine," they relax a little, "but please don't overdo it."
Izuku shakes his head, "I would never."
"Come on, new kid," Drew calls him over, and he gives his boyfriends one last reassuring smile before heading off. Ten shots, he counts quickly, filled to the brim with, what he had to guess was vodka.
"It's Izuku," Izuku looks across from him.
"Okay, Izuku," the guy flashes him a sardonic look, "don't come crying when you lose."
Izuku only hums an answer.
"Ready?!" A high-toned voice yells. Izuku looks up and makes out Val shoving her way through the horde, Aviva and Ezra no doubt on her tail but difficult to see with how small they are. He does catch small flashes of soft maroon that prove he is right.
Izuku feels a vibration in his back pocket and takes his phone out.
Without looking at who's calling, he hands it to a pretty face standing at the foot of the crowd, "keep an eye on it for me, doll," he smiles. The girl nods, returning the look and Izuku leans back just as the same high toned voice yells, "go!"
With quick reflexes, he downs shot after shot, savouring the burn in his throat and the warmth in his veins. He doesn't glance at the guy across from him, slamming the last glass just shy of hard enough to shatter and wiping his mouth with the back of his hand.
He looks up and sees the guy downing his last shot. His head feels a little heavy, but otherwise, he's fine. Just somewhat over tipsy.
"You still can go?" Drew asks him, sounding a lot sober than Izuku felt. He only shrugs.
"Barely hit me yet," he calls over, surprised at how composed his words were.
Drew laughs, "how about first to shotgun a beer wins?"
Izuku nods, easily catching a cold can of whatever, he didn't bother reading the label and pulling his keys out of his pocket.
Unbeknownst to him, the girl just before him accidentally swiped 'answer' on the facetime call he was receiving, camera facing his direction in what was possibly the worst luck in the world. His ex, Katsuki Bakugo is on the other end.
Since Izuku's sudden leave, 4 weeks since he's left U.A and 2 weeks since he left for America, Katsuki has been relentless in badgering him. He was pissed and being broken up with, simple as that. The other members of 1-A were equally as annoying with calling Izuku, and he's learnt to just ignore the ringing until it eventually dies out.
Class 1-A are by him, watching in horror and Izuku presses the edge of his key into the metal, mimicking the guy by him, and drowns the liquid quickly and messily.
"What the fuck?!" Katsuki yells, not loud enough to be heard over the music, or by the girl who was holding Izuku's phone. He looks so different too, dressed nicely, hair half neon half dark, body a lot slimmer yet the grooves of his abs still there.
Izuku smiles and he chugs it down, the burn so much softer than the straight vodka they had moments ago. His can clatters to the floor just seconds before Drew, and he smiles in victory. The buzz is strong enough that the cheering of the crowd passes him.
"Damn," he looks to Drew, whose smiling at him, "you're one hell of a monster."
Izuku only shrugs, before strong arms wrap around his waist and pull him up. He squeals, hands wrapping around the neck and looks to see auburn eyes staring at him intensely.
"That was hot, Amore Mio," he pulls him in for a long, hard kiss that Izuku returns eagerly. Another pair of arms wrap around his back, and his back is held flush, soft lips pressing into the skin just below his choker. The whisper of, "I agree, Mon Lapin," sends a shiver down his spine. He cranes his neck and presses a softer kiss to Xee's lips.
The crowd whistles and Izuku is put down only to be tackled by two smaller frames.
"That was awesome, Izu," Aviva cheers, Ezra humming in agreement.
Val smirks down at him, "looks like you did it."
"I'm offended you doubted me," he glances around and frowns when he misses the sight of pastel pink, "where's Ai?"
"Somewhere either being railed or railing someone," Ezra shrugs, and Izuku nods, satisfied.
"Let's dance," Aviva orders, grabbing him by the wrist and pulling him out of the kitchen.
Meanwhile, Katsuki's mouth drops in horror when a pretty boy with long hair eagerly lifts Izuku, pulling him in for a kiss that was way to passionate to be public. Mina squawks in disbelief when another, equally as pretty, boy comes from behind and Izuku moves to kiss him too.
"He has two boyfriends," Sero murmurs.
"Slutty," Uraraka sneers from Katsuki's side.
A weird churn bubbles in everyone when three other figures come to view, each tackling Izuku, excluding a really tall girl with long black hair.
"Since when did he have other friends?" Momo asks incredulously.
They see the girl with short blonde hair drag Izuku by the wrist, and the camera shakes as whoever is holding the phone walks over to Izuku. They meet the ceiling and finally can hear Izuku over the loud of the music. His words are slurred.
"Here you go," the girl offers the phone, and Izuku smiles and takes it back.
He feels it buzz and looks down only to realise that this time, the buzzing is the sound of voices too soft to be heard over the music but loud enough to startle the speaker on his phone.
He looks to the camera and frowns when meeting a bunch of unwanted, ugly faces.
"Bye," he calls to the camera, ignoring the yelling and slipping his phone back into his pocket. It buzzes again, but it's nothing over the blare of the music and he can ignore easily with how lightweight he feels.
Arms snake around his waist and another grabs his shoulder, "let's dance."

Sword System Academia
2/17 NOTICE: I'm putting this on hiatus, possibly permanently. I didn't want to spam with an "update chapter", so hopefully here and in the story blurb will get enough eyeballs. There are a couple reasons for ending SSA for now. 1) I wrote the next chapter but wasn't happy with it. I've been less and less satisfied with SSA's quality the more I thought about it. Part of the reason is... 2) I am seriously thinking about trying to publish some novels to help pay the bills, since I don't have my other source of income anymore. I have never asked for anything from SSA readers, no money, not even a review or rating. SSA is written for fun to amuse myself, primarily, and I would kind of feel bad actually charging someone money for something as unserious as that. I don't think it is good enough to ask anything in return. To use an analogy from music, SSA is more like a jam session with a bunch of friends. You're just chiling and having fun playing some music. I mean, if you are Mozart or even Eminem, your jam session is good enough to sell, but for an amateur beginner like myself, haha, no. If I want to publish something, I feel like I need to go the proper route of practice and rehearsals, which might be more similar to a classical concert performance. With SSA, I work from worldbuilding notes and a loose outline, but what you are essentially getting is the first draft with lots of so-called pantsing. Pushing out a web novel like this also means it is very difficult to go back and improve things without breaking everything else downstream. I wanted to try this "jamming" approach, as it was a good way to teach me about another aspect of writing, but to move forward, I think I need to hone my "classical" techniques, which emphasize rewriting, or at least, revising outlines. 3) While I intend to try to make $$$, my actual current goal is to "get gud". I've spent a lot of time recently trying to understand the self-publishing industry, and I'm pretty sure I can make some money by using short-term strategies with my current amateur skill level. But I've seen too many authors come and go/burnout, and really, the only way that I think I can enjoy writing and still make money on a long-term basis is to become a better writer. And the next step for me, which I haven't done much before, is to spend more time on rewriting and outlines. That is pretty much antithetical to the way SSA is developing. I've always been kind of 20/80 plotting/pantsing, but I want to spend a lot more time outlining before I even start writing. SSA jam sessions don't really fit my goal anymore. If you're curious about what's next, read on... Among other regrets, I regret not finishing SSA. It's the first story I've dropped, but then again, it's the first web novel I've attempted, so I suppose that's not a surprise. I don't think traditional web novel formats suit me that well. The whole SSA story I had loosely planned (beyond a first book or major arc) is way too large as well. Big story = good for neverending webnovel with Patreons, bad for penniless and fickle writer like me. I am currently outlining a complete trilogy to another story in great detail. I want the story to end concisely, and I also want the chance to really spend a lot of time on the full outline to spot pacing problems, character issues, lost themes, and so on. I'll still share this story on RR. What I intend to do is finish book 1, flash-publish the whole thing here for a few weeks, then publish on the big Zon. Repeat for books 2 and 3. The upcoming story will be about crafting heroes. The backdrop is an isekai-like setting, where elves will summon humans to their world as heroes, but the whole hero crafting business is still in its infancy. The elven mage researchers are figuring out how to imbue heroes with power, while the heroes are trying to figure out how to use the powers that they gain. Humans are the best hero templates because they are blank and have no intrinsic magic. Or at least that what the elves thought. The human MC has his own secrets... There will be some similarities with litrpgs, but I would call it more a progression fantasy or gamelit story. For example, the stats are very low, at least initially. Say we have a stat called Str. Going from Str = 1 to Str = 2 is a huge deal. Also, going from Dex = 0 to Dex = 1 is an even bigger deal. I guess you could call it a "low-stat litrpg", haha. Also, the heroes won't be gaining stats simply by killing things or leveling up. You can't increase stats arbitrarily, either. There will be rules to how stats can increase, and how they work with each other. The elven mages will be figuring out these rules in order to craft stronger and stronger heroes. Some inspiration will be from cultivation magic systems, but there won't be overt cultivation, at least for now. A theme I really want to explore is the idea of interactions. That includes things like hero crafter vs hero, tactics vs strategy, skill synergies, racial interactions (dwarves, elves, etc), and son. Yeah, so hero crafting. I'm super excited about this project and venturing into publishing. If you want to check out the upcoming story, you can follow my RR author profile to see when it drops here. Finally... THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! I'm very sorry that SSA is stopping, but I hope at least some of you will find the next story at least as enjoyable, if not more. Thanks to all the readers who gave SSA a shot. Big hug or solid fistbump to all of you, whichever you prefer! I hope this message is not a downer but an upper, because I am psyched!! -purlcray -------------- BLURB: Talen, youngest Master of the Koroi, makes his way to the Empire's capital to salvage his clan's fate. But the bustling city has few opportunities for the traditionalist. For the old sword clans are fading. With the rise of alchemy, gold can purchase strength that ordinarily took years of training to cultivate. Sword artists, once rare and accomplished, are quickly growing in number, especially among the wealthy noble class. Even with such alchemy, though, no one has advanced to the rank of Grandmaster in countless years. Talen's true dream is to walk the path of a sword artist to the very end while fulfilling his clan duties. And then the Swordgeists return, fabled founders of all sword arts, gods who had touched the world long ago and vanished. These myths turned into reality warn of a coming threat. Alongside this warning, they issue an invitation to the Sword System Academy, a path to power beyond the mortal realm. But first, they will hold an entrance exam... Story notes:Sword System Academia blends elements of western and asian fantasy such as xianxia and litrpg. I took parts from different genres I enjoyed and twisted them into my own creation. There will be an explicit system, both of the litrpg kind and the hard(ish) magic kind, but it is embedded within an academic structure that will develop over the course of the story. This is my attempt to design a unique type of system, the System Academia.

This was ment to be the self-published 'real' book of Binary Progression; turns out there isn't much of a market for this kind of story... that and it sucked! What’s worse, JohnWillStab, the number-one edgelord on the server is somehow ending up in positions of power despite literally being an undead rogue with evil magic tentacles! Will John’s edginess ruin the isekai? Why does the doctor have the highest kill-count in the game? Is 👑 really a valid character you could use for your username? Can the chef perform an exorcism?
