《Friendly Sex {{ GeorgeNotFound }}》FORTY-TWO: irl

Her feet swept across the ground, back and forth as she slowly spun her chair. The back of her head leaned carefully onto the head rest, hair falling over her face.
Sapnap would arrive in a few hours.
George had been getting ready for him all day, cleaning his flat - with the help of Astrid - and running around shops to actually get food in the cupboard.
The girl had been sent home early.
Herself and George had stood in his entryway wrapped in each other's arms for at least ten minutes beforehand.
Astrid's arms tight around his waist as he rubbed her back, George would kiss her head periodically, whispering into her hairline how he'd miss her and see her in a few days when Sapnap started going to his hotel earlier.
She only nodded.
Now she was home, alone.
Well, not completely.
A friendly voice in her ear; Dream.
The boy was in the same stiff spot as her, despite not truly realising it. He'd spent the better part of the last hour nicely complaining about being alone.
Saying things like, "I'm so happy for them but-"
She knew he was happy they were meeting, but watching your best friends meet whilst you're stuck home alone must be hell on earth, especially when you can watch everything they were doing live on twitch.
"So you're not bored yet?" She teased as he told her about the cake he was going to try baking.
"What does that mean?" He laughed heartily, as he always did, "I don't have to be bored to bake a cake"
"Oh sure," she hummed, "because you would definitely be making a cake if Sapnap was still there?" An eyebrow raised.
Dream paused his laughter, not for long, but for long enough that Astrid noticed something was wrong.

"You alright?"
"Yeah, yeah - I'm fine, it's just" he paused, "I'm happy for them though, just hate that I can't be there too. Or like George be here permanently"
Her heart clenched.
"I get that, you want all of you to be together"
"Exactly, like if George could be in America right this second and we'd never have to think about England ever again it'd be amazing"
Dream obviously didn't mean to stamp on Astrid's heart whilst expressing his biggest wish, but that didn't stop it from hurting.
She knew it was his heart's desire, and probably George and Sapnaps (and if not millions of people around the world) but to her, it was her worst fear.
Not just a fear but a looming occurrence that would eventually happen.
Eventually, George would go to America, start his life with his friends and never think about England, or Astrid, ever again.
She knew it from the beginning, but it still hurt.
"And it'll happen" it took everything in her to keep her voice steady, "soon"
"I know, I know when it happens it'll be great, but right now it's just...not" he sounded so downhearted.
Astrid felt the complete opposite.
Right now, she was living life. She could see George whenever she wanted and live her fantasy life in a bubble where it was just them and nobody could interrupt.
But eventually, it'd be nothing.
No late-night Uber drives or warm hugs in his doorway. No sneaking around or secret whispers.
She'd walk down his street and stare at his door in longing, but he'd no longer be behind it, he'd be thousands of miles away.
"But..." Dream continued with a deep breath, and somehow she dreaded what he'd say next.
Whatever it was surely would comfort him, but crush her.
"I know that eventually, it will be great, only a couple of months left, and he will be here"
Yeah, crushed.

The Bettor's Oath [A Dark-Modern LITRPG]
We live in a world where the rabbit’s foot helped win the game. Following that logic, tell me, what happens when the odds are flipped against the strong and a god rises to give the weak their right for revenge?~Last segment of the First Monarch's speech before the Lablanca battle. Lothar Ardolf, an alcoholic 27 years old high school teacher, was one of the many men who failed to catch up to life. When everyone around him worked to leave a mark behind, he idled away between states of short sobriety and static numbness, hoping that one day everything would resolve itself. It took little to wake him up. Only a life, soul, and body changing experience.Thrust into a world of cheap power and tyrannical governments, where a man could rival what is true and alter what is false, he was tasked by an elusive being with befalling titans. He wakes up in a prison with a path laid in front of him; one that would challenge all the resolve he has and more. Intertwined in a convoluted scheme of politics and old grudges, he will need to learn how to wield his new powers in order to escape before the secrets of the prison threaten to unravel him. However, he shortly realizes that his new faded fantasy was not a fairy tale. All that awaits him in the end, for standing against the world, is death. That is, if the three sided coin lands on heads. If it lands on tails... The shadowbane army rises. ...... This story is a neo-noir dark LITRPG in a world similar to earth. Take the tags seriously. I've been working on this project for 6 months and my MC is a bit unconventional, so I'm excited to introduce you all to him. Beware, it will be a slow-burn, so please be patient. The main plot will start to kick up at around chapter 15. I will be writing about racists, rapists, cultists and horrible humans. I do not condone or excuse their behavior or choice of words but the first arc will be in a prison and (some) prisoners don't mince their words. My MC doesn't adapt to the new world immediately because that is not realistic at all. It takes time and because of his personality, it will take more than a system to convince him to do someone else's bidding ;) Each chapter will have around 3000+ (give or take) words. I will be updating 2-3 times a week (depending on how busy I am with work and/or college) when I'm done publishing my backlog (Which is very big, 40,000+ words). **Each comment gets rep! Cover art by @tahraart on Instagram. Link to discord: https://youtu.be/91wX0NRjJqg Have a good one, Pistol. **** THE STORY IS ON TEMPORARY HIATUS. WE WILL BE BACK IN 2 MONTHS. SORRY EVERYONE.

Theomancer
My very own first book: I know it won't be perfect, so any constructive criticism would be appreciated. A peculiar reject from modern society ends up as one of the summoned people in another world, but will the premise hold up to the reality of things? only one way to find out! Follow an irascible Darwin's adventures while he pioneers his class in a whole new world, where colors and willpower are two of the most important things, besides respecting the Gods (and avoiding stronger pricks that are just waiting for an excuse to trample someone). -first-person, portal fantasy, litrpg -the cover is my crude attempt with Paint
